They are not knowledgeable about plants at all and…read morerecommended me a ton of invasive plants that I had no clue of until 4-8 months later I was able to realize the catastrophic damage they have caused. I trusted them and asked for their recommendation and support to plant low maintenance succulents that won't involve much effort. The list of what they did wrong has mounted as time as passed. Majority of the plants that they installed are off shooting and budding in all different areas around the yard. Popping up everywhere lifting the black netting under the rocks. They have a root system that is invasive and they planted plants so close together without realizing how they will overgrow each other. They planted plants who offshoot inches to multiple feet away from where the plant is and start growing in another location halfway across my yard. They planted plants that grow way too large for the space they gave them and they planted plants so close together that once they grew, they quadrupled in size at this point, and now they are on top of each other. They planted plants that offshoot off each other and multiply at the route, causing them to look horrendous and grow out of proportion and springing up all over the yard. They caused such damage with their negligence it's insane! It is going to cost me a fortune to remedy this and I have to do it now before it gets out of control and my whole yard has to be dug out. They also did not properly treat the ground and they did not properly lay the right underlayment properly and missed many areas. They also did not properly pull out and remove former plants at the root so now old plants are growing underneath the new plants. I reached out and sent them half a dozen videos of what happened showing them the incompetence of the recommendations that were made and articles showing that these plants are not recommended at all in the settings they did for me and the damage they already have caused. They are the specialist, you don't go to a doctor and tell the doctor what to do, you trust that that is their job and they know their plants and make recommendations based on your needs and the HOA being manicured. They charged me a bloody fortune thousands and thousands of dollars that now I have an invasive mess in my yard that is going to cost even more to remedy and remove the root systems of these invasive plans they should never have planted. These plants are even growing under my slab and literally many feet away from their original plant. I know that they did not properly treat the ground for weeds because when I had asked them if they could help with resodding my backyard and help address the weeds as part of the job they gave me a different protocol for that which I realized they didn't do it all to the front yard. My yard looks like an out of control jungle. It took me four hours this past weekend to remove a lot of the offshoots. I hurt my back and could not move for days. I even have text messages where I specifically shared what I needed for these plants to encompass, and what they recommended grew to not be that. I gave them the opportunity to fix this and they did not respond back to me. I would caution you to take their advice, they are not real landscaping professionals that actually know their plants and care about their customers outcome after they get their money.

My best friend referred us to Fritz Landscaping who had just recently gotten a gazebo installed and their back patio redone. During our initial meeting, Fritz listened to our ideas regarding what we wanted for our home. Fritz and his team surveyed our property & returned with a comprehensive plan; which included detailed drawings of our new Patio, Fire pit & half circle steps. The plan also included beautiful accent lighting to enhance the project. As he was presenting us with detailed plans of what he would suggest planting in each area of need, it was evident that Fritz's knowledge of planting options gave us what we were looking for. From tree removal, correcting our irrigation, the beautiful plantings, our patio, and outdoor lighting; everything was perfectly executed! They truly went above and beyond to bring our vision to life. Our yards did a complete 180° and transformed our curb appeal. This by no means was a quick process, but Fritz and his team were very professional and easy to work with. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for landscaping services. Sales and Estimate:If you enjoy a 3.5 hour time sales pitch then have D&D give you an estimate. They initially said they needed 1 hour of our time, they came at 5:30 and left at 9p. They start with an estimate that is double most others, then work their way back hard selling the entire time. They claim all their workers are with the company - no contractors (lie #1), I specifically asked do they leave a cement mess in my landscaping: they claimed they have white glove service and no materials like rinsed cement etc are left on property (lie #2). Cancellation Process: After signing, we decided we signed under pressure and duress and needed more time. We asked about canceling and our request was ignored for 4 days, when they responded they said it had passed the cancellation period and that there was a $6,000 fee to cancel. The founder got on the phone after we escalated our argument. Stephen assured me he would make a special effort to "micro-manage the hell out of my project" and I would be extremely happy. I never saw or heard from him after that conversation. Project review: Pablo (nice guy and the only one that promptly responded when we had issues) came out to review the project, dimensions etc. Never saw or heard from Stephen the micro-manager during this process. Demo and base rock layer: (delayed 1 week because initial inspections failed.) Seemed to do an ok job of prepping the base layer. These contractors (not Deck and Drive employees) caused some sidewalk damage that was never repaired even after requesting D&D to repair and then saying they would. I expected any sprinkler plumbing near the driveway to be destroyed and it was, however I was told they would leave it exposed or marked where the remaining pipes were - I had to dig up the base layer to find and repair the plumbing. Never saw or heard from Stephen the micro-manager during this process. Install: Contractors (not D&D employees) did the install. They were nice and did an ok job, with the exception of not getting the dimensions correct as contracted and shown on plan. The second day when it looked like they were finishing, I asked them to measure and compare to the plan, they took the time to extend the width at that point to plan. The area between the sidewalk and street was never extended to meet the street, instead they put an asphalt patch to make up the 6-8 inch gap.The micro-manager might have caught this - if only he had stopped by. Overall the job was ok, better than the previous asphalt driveway but not as nice as I hoped for based on Stephen the micro-manager's promise. Btw, never saw or heard from Stephen the micro-manager during this process. Sealing: a couple weeks after the install someone came out and cleaned, resanded, and sealed the driveway. Meh, several gaps remained. Never saw or heard from Stephen the micro-manager during this process. Permits and Inspections: After a couple of weeks I noticed the inspections were not scheduled on the city website, I called D&D, their dedicated permitting office somehow missed this and scheduled the inspections, which failed the first time through. Never saw or heard from Stephen the micro-manager during this process. Customer Care and Followup: never ( I waited 3 months to post this review) heard from Deck & Drive to ask how it went. They simply never reached out to ask. They are focused solely on sales and not on customer satisfaction, it's like they could care less. I would be surprised if this company lasts much longer.

He then personally came to install the lighting and electrical himself (instead of sending a third party crew). After a few weeks of enjoying our lights, our rambunctious puppies chewed threw the wiring. Mark promptly came back to the property. He worked with us to re-wire, and illuminate our backyard. This was the only plant on my balcony, so there's absolutely no way the infestation came from anywhere else but the store. To make matters worse, a friend of mine bought a similar trellis bougainvillea from this same place the same week, and guess what? Hers had worms too. This clearly points to a problem with the plants they're selling. Even more upsetting, my cat ended up getting sick after coming into contact with the worms--leading to a $400 vet bill. I brought the dead plant back in hopes they would at least take some responsibility, offer a refund, an exchange, or help nurse the plant back to health. Instead, all they did was offer a systemic treatment, and made no guarantees or effort to ensure the plant was actually healthy. This was such a disappointing and costly experience--both financially and emotionally. I won't be shopping here again, and I highly recommend others think twice before purchasing plants from here without carefully checking for pests.
