Our previous dentist performed a filling procedure with local anethesia on my 4 year old and it was an absolute disaster for all parties involved. when we were informed he would need another filling, i immediately started searching for pediatric dentists that offered sedation. We decided to move forward with Rooted and MY GOSH, what a God send. At our first appointment, we were greeted with their cool Vestaboard and a cute letterboard at the front desk welcoming us by name! They have the cutest little play area for kids up front with books, magnetic toys and some legos. We were taken in by Prea and she was so kind and patient to my son who was already terrified of dentists after his filling procedure at the previous dental office. He did SO WELL with Prea and even sat through x-rays!! I was so impressed and happy that things went well!! We met with Dr. Song who agreed with our previous dentists recommendation for a filling and we proceeded with scheduling the sedating appointment. Everything went so smoothly, Dr. Song and Dr. Son (the anesthesiologist) walked us through the whole procedure so we knew exactly what to expect. I felt very confident and comfortable leaving my son in their care. Did i mention that the aesthetics inside are SO DREAMY?? I wish i could go to Rooted as an adult!! It is so clean and peaceful. I had the opportunity to shadow Dr. Song in her practice multiple times now. From my observations, I have seen the amount of care and dedication she and the Rooted staff put into their practice. The Rooted staff do a phenomenal job making sure both parents and patients feel relaxed and welcome from the moment they step inside. Booked my son's first dentist appointment so easy, submitted inquiry form online and promptly received a call back. All the paperwork was sent via a text link. Arrived and my baby boy was greeted by the staff, they have this cool electronic board that welcomes each patient. The office is located behind Vroman's parking lot entrance off union (one way) or also oak knoll. Very ample parking lot and convenient entrances depending on way of arrival. Reception staff were amazing, welcoming us and getting checked in. Prea (hope I spelled it right) first assisted with cleaning and then Dr. Song did exam and scaling with fluoride treatment. Dr. Song was very informative and loved her approach, my son got through everything better than expected but you can see the quality of care from the staff and dr. Which makes this practice amazing for the kiddos. The office itself is new, modern and all the technology use for ease. Big open area with dental chairs and TV's hanging over the treatment chair. At the end they have a treasure trove to pick. I look forward to having my son continue his care with this practice and Dr. Song. A++++ read more

I came here for my son's first dental appointment. First of all, parking is easy here and free, so that's always a plus! Second, it is literally right in front of the entrance of Vromans so it's in a great location. (Just had to give that shout out bc I love that bookstore.) Third... I don't think I've ever been to a prettier dental office before in my entire 30+ years of life. W.O.W. Now... moving onto the dental stuff. I was able to make an appointment by requesting a date via the website. I got a phone call from the office and was easily able to make an appointment. On the appointment day, my son and I were greeted by the staff. There's also this very sweet and personal touch in the office bc they have a cute welcome sign with my son's name! We quickly got checked in and were seen. My son got his little teeth cleaned (he's 11 months old) and then was seen by Dr. Soo. She explained everything she was doing in detail in a fun way to entertain my boy and also let us both know what was going on. It was a very pleasant dental experience for my son's first time! By way of distraction, they have tvs with cute cartoons playing overhead so the kids can watch it while lying back on the dental chair, plus they gave my boy a little rubber duckie to play with and take home! I've had so many traumatic experiences with dentists, so I will happily make the drive for my son to be seen by a compassionate and trustworthy dentist who truly loves what she does. First of all, her new office space if beautiful and very intentionally thought out. It is very warm and inviting, and it doesn't feel scary. Dr. Song and her staff were also very welcoming and treated us more than patients -- it's the little details like personal welcome signs and coming out to greet us before the examination. Prea, the dental hygienist and Dr. Song took the time to thoroughly explain the tools and equipment that were going to be used, and even let my toddler play with them to make him feel more comfortable and less scared. It's rare to not feel rushed during an appointment, and Dr. Song and her staff made sure to check in on my toddler to see if he needed any breaks. Dr. Song also gave many personal recommendations on what products to use -- not because she is affiliated with them, but because she does her research and wants to share the very best products. You know you have the best dentist and you feel super comfortable if you're sitting in the chair like my son. He enjoyed it so much that he said he LOVES the dentist and can't wait to go back. CAME ALL THE WAY FROM ORANGE COUNTY AND IT'S TOTALLY WORTH IT! Centrally located in Pasadena with plenty of parking, and a beautiful and thoughtful office space. Kids got immediately excited as soon as we entered the office, and everyone was super welcoming and friendly. Kids easily opened up to the hygenist and of course Dr. Song who were very thorough in their cleaning and examinations. My older one was super excited to see her favorite dentist again, and the first time dentist visit for my little one was a breeze! We have been bringing our kids to Dr Song from the beginning. From Clairemont and Koreatown and now Pasadena. The free parking and safe neighborhood are a plus but the true perks are the care and work Dr. Song and her team put into each patient. I never thought I would see my kids actually strolling out of a dental office while dancing. I can only thank Dr. Song and the team at Rooted Pediatrics for that. I always struggled with getting my kids to go for a dental check up and the aftermath of it. But Dr. Song was super gentle and explained every step of the treatment not only to me, but to the kids! She gets down to their level and shows them what is going on and gives them a heads up of what is to come. I really liked how Dr. Song explained the process of the new teeth coming in and what to expect in the future. She even recommended steps that can improve their oral health to avoid problems in the long run. And my kids, of course loved the TV mounted on the ceiling and the fun prizes at the end! I would also like the give a shout out to the staff, especially Lisa. She super friendly and helpful with setting up appointments and all of the logistics. Dr. Soo Song is seriously the best pediatric dentist. We have been with her for 6 years now, first in Los Angeles, and have followed her to Pasadena because I cannot find care as wonderful as hers. Not only is she great at what she does, but she truly cares. My son has had molar issues since he was 3, and she really helped me understand what was happening, as well as drawing up a treatment plan for him in the most non-invasive way possible. I never felt like my concerns were brushed past or disregarded. I felt heard by her. And, my kids look forward to their check ups!! This amazes me because growing up, I really feared the dentist. My kids recently went in for their 6 month check up, and her new office is so beautiful! So thankful to have found this amazing pediatric dentist in Pasadena for my kids! The front desk staff was so kind and helpful -- they answered all my insurance questions and got us scheduled right away. There was plenty of free parking, and the facility was brand new and spotless. My older son is usually very anxious about dental visits, but he did so well here! The warm, welcoming atmosphere and kid-friendly space made such a difference. He was happily playing with the toys in the waiting room instead of feeling nervous. I finally brought my toddler for a long overdue visit. It was his first time visiting a dentist but it couldn't have gone more smooth. Staff - A warm welcome as soon as I stepped into the office from Lisa, the receptionist. The initial paperwork process was fully done through an iPad. It was nice to be able to confirm insurance coverage prior to coming in. The hygienist swung by the front desk a couple times while I was completing the registration process. I feel that it helped my son get familiarized with her for a smoother transition to the cleaning. She took the time to introduce the different tools and the cleaning/polishing was a breeze! Office - The front desk/waiting area had a corner of various different toys to keep the kids occupied. All the different spaces of the office were very clean, but also had a warm and inviting atmosphere instead of the sterile, cold offices I'm used to. Each individual seat had TVs securely mounted to the ceiling to help my son keep his face upwards and relatively still. There were regular chairs nearby for parents to stay close while comfortable as well. Doctor - Dr. Song was incredibly knowledgable and professional. She was very thorough in educating me on best practices and helping me navigate some of the challenges so that I can provide the best dental cleaning routines at home. I didn't feel rushed with all my questions and I definitely felt the doctor's genuine care for my son. Parking - It's best to park in the southwest corner of the parking lot shared with Total Wine & More and Vroman's Bookstore. I was bracing myself since it was my son's first visit to the dentist, but it really was such a calm and enjoyable experience from start to end!
