What an amazing place! I brought my 11-year-old son to see Dr. Romero today, and we had the best experience. From the moment we walked in, the office was incredibly clean and very kid-friendly. They even have video games in the waiting room, which immediately made my son feel more comfortable. The front desk staff was so helpful and kind, assisting me with my insurance and making everything easy and stress-free. Dr. Romero had to remove one of my son's molars, and he was very nervous. But Dr. Romero and his team were incredibly patient and reassuring -- they talked to him calmly and even put on a movie to help him relax. The procedure went so smoothly that my son didn't feel a thing! At the end, he even gave Dr. Romero a fist bump This was truly the best experience we've had. I've been a patient here for over 20 years. I had Dr. Serxner then switched over to Dr. Romero when he and his wife bought the practice. And now as an adult I see Dr. Lezama. Everyone who works here treats you like family. Every time I visit they always ask me how my family is doing and even remember what we spoke about during my last visit 6 months ago. Whenever I speak to Dr. Lezama about any concerns I have, she always does a thorough job of answering all of my questions. If you're looking for a dentist, I highly recommend this one! I can't begin to say how wonderful Dr. Lezama, Rita, Sarah and the whole team at Dentistry for Children are! I am so grateful that my friends recommended my husband and me here many years ago. Dr. Lezama is excellent at her job. She is kind, thorough and gentle (I had a novocain shot and didn't even feel it!). I was very nervous about having my first cavity (at 37!) filled and Dr. Lezama and Rita were so comforting. I wasn't sure what to expect but had no pain and was amazed at how quickly and smoothly they worked together to get it done. Rita is the best. The place looks basically the same. The staff has changed. The arcade game is still here. Dr. Serxner was ALWAYS on time. Dr. Romero runs a little behind, but it's doable. Dr. Romero's attitude towards the patient is caring. He explains things well to the parent. They accept dental insurance. Appointments needed. I took our son for his first dental appointment. I think my wife sent me alone with him because she was fearing this was going to be a stressful event. Our son doesn't even like to go get his haircut so a trip to the dentist was expected to be tons of drama. After seeing his reviews we decided that we would take him to Dr. Romero. And we are so happy that we did! Dr. Romero took about 10 to 15 minutes getting to know our son and playing with him, showing him the stuffed alligator with a full set of teeth and how they exam his teeth, floss and clean them. He spoke both Spanish and English to our son. So did his staff. Our son was very relaxed and when it came time to let the doctor exam and clean his teeth, there was no problem. I was in shock and extremely happy. I couldn't believe it. I took pictures and video to show the family and the doctor's assistant even took some pictures for us. Dr. Romero's kind and compassionate attitude and approach towards children is remarkable. Our son was talking about his next visit to the dentist and how he wants to play Centipede (the 80's arcade game) in the waiting room again. If you are looking for a dentist that is great with kids then look no further. We highly recommend him. And his wife is also a dentist and works on adults. I am thrilled to have found this pediatric dentist. The first time I took my 1.5 year old to another dentist it was a horrible experience. At this practice, Dr. Romero is incredible. He spent about 10 min showing my now 2 yr old all the different equipment he was going to use and socializing him to the sounds. By the time he started the cleaning my son just sat there! Kindness and compassion shows! Had to do a long procedure today for my daughter, and while it was a difficult procedure, she still went to hug him afterwards and not letting go. We had a negative experience with a nearby local children's dentist and decided we needed to search for a new one that would do a better job helping our toddler feel comfortable and at ease having her teeth examined and cleaned. I stumbled on to Dr Romero's Yelp page, read the reviews and was convinced to pay a visit. Our two year old was terrified and cried through her previous visits with a different dentist. Dr Romero took the time to get to know her prior to the examination, showing her how to brush the pet alligator's teeth, explaining all the tools to her and what they do. His bedside manner is calm, gentle and patient. When it was time for her to be examined she was amazingly calm. Dr Romero truly takes the time to make your kid feel at ease as well as build trust-- he genuinely understands children. His entire staff also is incredibly kind, warm and professional and took the time to ensure every detail in our visit (down to the dental goodie bags) were well thought out. My daughter recently turned two and has never been to a dentist. We are also from out of town visiting grandparents for the next four months (finish up virtual school with family). My son threw a toy (accidentally) directly into her face and knocked her tooth loose and a bit out of the socket, and cutting her lip in the process. Dr. Romero and his staff got us in within an hour of the accident, at the end of the work day. They did not care that she wasn't an existing patient (we called multiple places that did). They cared about helping a little girl with an injured mouth/tooth. Dr. Romero was very kind and gentle with her; letting her warm up to him. He had her sit on my lap and lay back on a pad on his lap, allowing her to feel connected to me. This is a move that my oldest daughter didn't have when she chipped a tooth around the same age. He cleaned the entire mouth up, took a few x-rays and slowly moved the tooth back into place. She cried a bit at the end, but was distracted by the video on the screen and the numbing gel he used. We'll see how the tooth goes, as it's a bit of a waiting game. But in the meantime, I believe she's in competent and compassionate hands... which is really all we can ask for. read more

Dr. Romero is an amazing dentist! Very kind, gentle and puts both kids and parents at easy. My 5 year old had 12 cavities and in 2 visits Dr. Romero fixed all her teeth and my little girl didn't have any pain or discomfort after! His staff is extremely professional and helpful. The wait time is literally none, for both of our visits we were taken in right away within minutes. The DA Maura is just a sweetheart reassuring and making sure my little girl was ok the entire time. So I don't think I have ever reviewed anyone on here before. That is the impact Dr. Romero and his staff made on me they were that good. My son is autistic and mostly nonverbal and our previous dental experiences have been so traumatic and so awful- and I get it it's hard to deal with what we've got going on. I walked in not knowing what to expect since our last dentist didn't take our new insurance and man was I glad I did. Dr. Romero was calm, nurturing, no pressure at all with my son it was honestly beautiful to watch. The receptionists were on point, everyone was caring and the atmosphere was without chaos. I'm so happy my son gets to go to him now, this guy is magic. We needed a crown replaced and my heart sank when they said they could do it then and there I was bracing myself for a tortuous experience. My daughter can be difficult to handle, especially in new environments. So when my pediatrician recommended she be seen by a dentist, sooner than later, I was very nervous. That being said, I started doing extensive research about pediatric dentists near us and came across Dr. Romero's office. After reading through the amazing reviews, I decided to schedule an appointment. Her first visit was this morning and the front desk staff was exceptionally friendly and made it super easy for me to fill out the paperwork ahead of time. The dental assistant that helped us was so kind and made us feel comfortable in the office right away. They have very strict COVID procedures in place and that was also a big plus! Anyone who is scared to go to the dentist during the pandemic should have no trouble feeling completely safe in their office. Although my daughter cried throughout some of the appointment, Dr. Romero was super gentle and so incredibly helpful. Dr. Romero went above and beyond for us. On a Saturday afternoon my 8 year old fell and cracked an incisor. We called Dr. Romero and got through to him right away. He was very concerned and said it would be best to take care of it today, just in case it was serious. Being a Saturday afternoon, he was at home, but he dropped everything and met us at his office 30 min later (he lives far away, Santa Clarita). He took x-rays and determined that the problem was not too serious. Then he spent a good chunk of time carefully smoothing the rough edge of the cracked tooth and very minimal cost. Dr. Romero is an excellent pediatric dentist. My 2 children have been with him since he took over Dr. Serxner's practice several years ago. He is gentle and kind in his dealings with the children and his staff maintains the same standards. Three years ago my son broke his front tooth completely in half. We rushed straight from the urgent care where his face had been stitched to Dr. Romero's office. He reattached the broken tooth and repaired it with such skill that it is completely impossible to tell there was ever an issue. But that isn't even the most amazing thing. His office was actually closed that day! He could have easily referred us to another office and I would have completely understood.
