This place is ideal for both parents and kids. Both Pedro Romero and Dr. Lezama are so caring that they put kids at ease. I've been coming here for the last 5 years and even drove up from Redondo to see them. The waiting room is great for Gen X parents since they have Galaga and Centipede!

First time here and I'm so impressed! 2 teeth extractions and no crying at all from the 5 year old she had shark teeth. Dr Romero was so gentle and kind. We will be referring him for sure. He was patient and took his time. They weren't crowded and overbooked. I love this place! Keep up the good work

11/23/2016 This place is now run by Dr. Romero and his wife Dr. Lezama. Dr. Romero takes care of the pediatric cases and his wife does the adults. This place use to be run by Dr. Serxner. The place looks basically the same. The staff has changed. The arcade game is still here. Dr. Serxner was ALWAYS on time. Dr. Romero runs a little behind, but it's doable. Dr. Romero's attitude towards the patient is caring. He explains things well to the parent. They accept dental insurance. Appointments needed. Dr. Romero has office appointments available on Saturdays till 12:00.

Learning about flossing and cleaning the alligator's teeth :).

I took our son for his first dental appointment. I think my wife sent me alone with him because she was fearing this was going to be a stressful event. Our son doesn't even like to go get his haircut so a trip to the dentist was expected to be tons of drama. After seeing his reviews we decided that we would take him to Dr. Romero. And we are so happy that we did! Dr. Romero took about 10 to 15 minutes getting to know our son and playing with him, showing him the stuffed alligator with a full set of teeth and how they exam his teeth, floss and clean them. He spoke both Spanish and English to our son. So did his staff. Our son was very relaxed and when it came time to let the doctor exam and clean his teeth, there was no problem. I was in shock and extremely happy. I couldn't believe it. I took pictures and video to show the family and the doctor's assistant even took some pictures for us. Dr. Romero's kind and compassionate attitude and approach towards children is remarkable. Our son was talking about his next visit to the dentist and how he wants to play Centipede (the 80's arcade game) in the waiting room again. If you are looking for a dentist that is great with kids then look no further. We highly recommend him. And his wife is also a dentist and works on adults. Looks like we will be visiting her as well and making them our family dentists. Thank you Dr. Romero!

Dr. Romero was so patient and so good with my 18 month old.

I also had dental insurance so I figured it wouldn't be so bad. Her receptionist Ashley came into the room with a print out of the work I would need. She showed me the cost of each procedure $0.00 for the insurance and my portion. I asked her what would the insurance be paying and I was told nothing as they won't pay for the services I need. Ashley said she had worked with Delta for years and these services they won't pay for, Dr. Rezai agreed. I took the papers mind you it was about 8k out of pocket. I let this settle overnight while unsettling my suspicions. I called Delta myself to verify their story and it turned out Delta did cover some of the services they were billing me for. I'm a bit perturbed now and called the office to share the good news however not so good for them as they both told me it was a lie they don't pay for those services, perhaps not the price tag they were billing however atleast 7k of it they would pay. I told them I spoke with Delta personally and it was verified. I told Dr Rezai I would call Delta with her on the phone so she could hear the confirmation from Delta themselves. I called Delta and of course they confirmed and I heard a nervous laugh coming from Dr. Rezai, so I ended the call with Delta with Dr. Rezai on the phone I said so you heard the conversation and she said, no I wasn'ton the phone, "when are you going to call Delta?" What,? I called and you were on the phone, because I heard you nervously chuckle, she denied it. I'm upset now and so is she because she was caught. I said ok, I'll call them back. Once again she is on the phone with a second confirmation. She then began asking them some other fictitious codes and by now the rep at Delta was becoming annoyed not only at the codes of billing were absurd to the rep the Dr kept speaking over the rep as she tried explaining the correct codes and the fact that they do pay for some of the services they were going to bill me for. Unfortunately that encounter left a bad taste in my mouth and definitely violated trust of a potential patient. Is this called double dipping? They were hoping to get 8k out of me then bill my insurance company knowing some of the services were actually covered. Oh, another thing I found odd, she asked me to open my mouth to check the roof of my mouth, hmmm ok, she immediately said oh you were a bottle fed baby because of the high roof.., hmmm ok, perhaps she provides some sort of Palette procedure? I don't know, I do know at 64 yrs old it hasn't interfered with my eating, drinking, or speech, and if it has, I'll live with this at my big ol age of 64. On a up note she seemed very caring.

I've been with my dentist for 17 years, 10+ of those years moved up to the Bay Area and making the 5-6hr commute back and forth. Well, life happens and during my last check with Most Awesome General Dentist; turns out I need a root canal and was recommended to Dr. John Pratte as a "Diplomate" dentist. What is that? I asked a robot and this is what I learned: Achieving diplomate status in dentistry, particularly for specialties like endodontics, is a prestigious accomplishment that represents the highest level of expertise in the field. Here's what it generally involves: 1. Advanced Education and Specialty Training: After earning a dental degree (e.g., DDS or DMD), a dentist must complete additional years of postgraduate training in their specialty, such as endodontics, periodontics, or orthodontics. This involves clinical, hands-on training and deep study of the specialty. 2. Board Certification: To become a diplomate, a dentist must pass rigorous board certification exams specific to their specialty. This typically includes: Written Exam: Testing the candidate's knowledge of all facets of their specialty. Clinical Exam or Case Presentations: Submitting complex case studies or undergoing a practical exam to demonstrate hands-on expertise and problem-solving abilities in their specialty. Oral Exam: Being questioned by a board of experts on clinical cases, treatment planning, and specialized knowledge to assess clinical judgment and expertise. 3. Experience and Case Portfolio: Many boards require candidates to complete and submit a portfolio of complex cases they've treated successfully, showcasing their proficiency and commitment to high standards of care. 4. Continuing Education and Recertification: Once they achieve diplomate status, many boards require ongoing continuing education and periodic recertification to ensure they remain up-to-date with advancements in their field. 5. Commitment to Excellence: Diplomates are often required to uphold strict ethical standards and demonstrate a commitment to advancing their specialty through research, teaching, or service within the professional community. In short, becoming a diplomate is a mark of dedication, clinical excellence, and a deep commitment to providing the highest standard of patient care in their specialty. It signifies that the practitioner has gone well beyond the basic requirements of dental practice. _______________________ So I just want to say that I highly appreciate the expertly skilled precision of Dr. Pratte's deft and nimble hands. He has a very professional demeanor while also being quite warm and personable. (And those diplomate credentials tell you that you're getting the very best of the very best!!!)
