5 STARS We're always leery of taking out of town visitors to restaurants we've not been to before. We had heard good things about Rosa Mezcal so we gave it a chance. OMG! IMHO the very best Mexican food in Central Florida. The table-side guacamole is out of this world. We ate ever drop risking being too full for the meal. Four meals - Shrimp Tacos, Carne Asada tacos, Carne Asada and Shrimp Al Chipotle. Every One was wonderful, cooked perfectly and served beautifully. The atmosphere is young and vibrant. The service was perfect. The Margaritas were large and delicious. We wanted to go back again the next day! After dinner, while strolling thru charming downtown Eustis, we ran into a friend who happened to be chatting with the owner so she introduced us. I gave him a congratulatory handshake for a wonderful meal. We'll DEFINITELY be back often. read more

We finally found an excellent Mexican restaurant close to home in Lake County. We were about to drive out to Altamonte Springs for a birthday dinner, but on a whim we checked the menu online for Rosa Mezcal, which opened last year in downtown Eustis -- and we're glad we did. First impression: spotless. The host stand and dining room were immaculate -- not easy for a building that dates back to 1884. The bathrooms were equally clean. Before we even sat down, chips and salsa hit the table, and that pace of attentive service never slowed. Drinks arrived quickly, food came out quickly, and everything was consistently on point. There were at least a dozen occupied tables, so this wasn't staff boredom -- it was genuine operational excellence. Happy Hour was a surprise highlight: 2-for-1 20 oz Modelo drafts and 12 oz house margaritas. Highly recommend Tajín rims on both. The chips, salsa, and queso dip were excellent -- and we definitely overate it because everyone still ordered full entrées. I had the Salmon with Mango Pico de Gallo, vegetables, and rice -- a large, thin fillet lightly seasoned with Old Bay, and topped with diced mango, tomato, and green pepper. At $20 (Feb 4, 2026), that's a strong value. All price points were very reasonable. Around the table we also had: Carne Asada Enchiladas Poblanas (with classic mole sauce) Portobello Mushroom Fajitas (vegan-approved) Whole Fried Snapper All were perfectly prepared. The only "complaint" came from our vegan daughter, who insisted the snapper made eye contact with her once or twice. We'll absolutely be back. read more

Brought out brother-in-law here for the first time! We were in the area and stopped by for a bite to eat. We shared the burger, burrito and lettuce wraps with steak. Food was delicious, drinks were nice. Giving it a 3-stars because our server told us that our tip didn't go through the first time, so we ordered something else to tip her accordingly. No receipt was offered. I think she double dipped us to get a 20% both transactions. Oh well. read more

Wow this spot really impressed us! I don't usually dine as far as Eustis but while in Mount Dora we wanted to eat Mexican food but other options from the ones in Mount Dora so this restaurant came up. The restaurant is located on a large historic building downtown Eustis. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server was super friendly and welcoming. She gave us some recommendations for drinks and food. The portions were huge and the food was tasty. We were a group of 5 and we all enjoyed our food. We also had frozen margaritas. They were good. Downtown Eustis was a little dead on a Sunday afternoon so I hope is not like that all the time. This place was really good and I hope to be back soon. read more

First impression walking in the restaurant looks nice but unfortunately smells like they have a sewage problem . I wanted to leave then but it was late and nothing else was open on a Monday night. The guac was bland , the salsa was delicious. The birria tacos were extremely salty and the consume was bland . Not the worst I've had but definitely not the best. My son enjoyed the street tacos. Queso was good. The server was very nice and attentive. I enjoyed the organic margaritas. A little pricey. For two people it was over 100$ . read more

First, I have to mention our server, Maria, who was excellent! We've heard good things about this place so decided to finally try it. It's been open for a couple of weeks. We were seated right away and greeted by someone bringing chips and salsa to our table. The chips were perfect and the salsa was excellent with a little kick. My husband ordered the Birria tacos, and I ordered the Carne Asada tacos. Both were amazing! The refried beans were very good as was the rice. My husband had a margarita which he said was very good. Just a little light on the alcohol. Both the manager and the owner came by the table to talk. We will definitely be back very soon. read more

We first tried Rosa Mezcal on a whim ordering from them via Uber Eats. We were so impressed we knew we needed to go get the full experience. It is fairly new to the area, just opened this April. We found street parking easily on a Thursday night arriving after 7:30. The restaurant wasn't packed by any means but it is a HUGE space. Given our experience, I would not be surprised to see this place HOPPING in the future. We were seated right away and shortly after our server arrived to get our drink order. Just sodas for us this night but their drink menu looks good! We opted for the Fresh Guacamole for our appetizer. The server returned to make sure we were ok with all the ingredients (jalapeños included) we said yes absolutely but when the guac arrived neither of us tasted or saw any jalapeños. The guacamole was indeed fresh but we prefer a more blended guac as opposed to the chunky consistency of this one. Flavor was fine, missed the heat the jalapeños would have added. We both ordered tacos (the same ones we got delivered, carne asada and al pastor) and they were as delicious as we expected them to be. Their beans are delicious and their rice is in my top 3 for Mexican restaurant rice! The Al Pastor tacos are flavorful and light, with a good balance of meat and pineapple and the tortillas are insanely good. The carne asada tacos were also filled with quality steak and seasoned perfectly. The prices are on par for what most other restaurants are charging for a taco meal and the portions are decent. I couldn't finish my third taco I was already full. Complimentary chips and salsa which is not standard at all Mexican restaurants these days so I appreciate that too (though that's probably why I couldn't finish my third taco, I'll never learn!). Like many "finds" while traveling, we only got to Rosa Mezcal in Eustis FL because of YELP. Again, your YELP family references were spot on! We visited on a chilly Tuesday in December 2025 without reservations. We requested bar seating as reviews suggested. Our server, Salvador was extremely attentive. As soon as we sat down warm, freshly made tortilla chips arrived. Salvador suggested a 2 -for - 1 house Margaritas, which he freshly made. As he made our drinks, we soaked up the "steam punk" ambience of the repurposed building. (Bank, warehouse?) We opted for seafood, mahi mahi with shrimp, spinach and mushroom covered with a champagne sauce and grilled salmon covered in a mango/peppers/onion salsa. Both dishes were very reasonable at $20 each. We attached pictures. The dishes were fresh, perfectly cooked with good sized portions. At the end of our night we were really glad we took your suggestion and found Rosa Mezcal! read more

Rosa Mezcal is a traditional Mexican Food restaurant located in the heart of Eustis. I have been there twice and look forward to re-visiting. We went with a party of nine, and everyone in our group agreed that the food and service were fantastic. We ordered the shrimp fajitas, and the flan for dessert was wonderful! Portions are ample--most of us took home to-go packages. The ambiance, set in the historic Ferran Department Store building, adds a special charm to the dining experience. read more

This is a fairly new restaurant and heard about it. The food was very good. I ordered the veggie burrito, which was huge! It was delicious. My wife had the enchiladas and was surprised to find pork on top. Usually she doesn't get pork. But the way they cooked it, it was really good, she said. The staff came over today to say hello and check up on us and so they were very attentive. The atmosphere is also really nice. I mentioned to one of the owners that we thought the water was not filtered and was told that it was. Maybe they need to change the filters or something. But that is minor in the scheme of things they also offer lunch specials and the prices were not far from the usual menu prices. Really good! Do give them a try! read more

I've been twice so far, and this is easily my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. My second time I came on a Monday by myself for a quick dinner and a margarita at the bar. I ordered the burrito ranchero and it was simply amazing! A must try if you like carnitas burritos. As an added surprise, they have margarita Monday's all night (buy 1, get one free). The atmosphere is clean and the bartender was very nice and told me about the margarita special. I find many places around here 'hide' their specials, probably assuming a bigger tip on a higher bill. I always tip extra when they offer drink specials that I wouldn't have otherwise known about. I can't wait to come back! read more

I tried this new restaurant. It was OK. The only reason I'm not giving a 2 star is their a new business and still have a time to improve. I unfortunately will not be returning as I felt that the food was not good. I didn't think Mexican food could be messed up. I was wrong. The serving sides for the price is a joke. It was expensive just for what I got. The only thing I didn't pay for my my food and it still came to 70$ The Margarita tasted like watered down left over and I couldn't even taste any tequila. Great addition to the Eustis downtown area. The inside is beautiful, very spacious, and has a very cool bar area. delicious. We started with some queso dip, and a few well poured margaritas (2 house, and 1 jalapeño-pineapple -a must try!). Our group had: a GIANT steak burrito, chicken quesadilla, queso-birria tacos, chicken flautas, and carnitas platter. All of the dishes were of sizable portions and very fresh & tasty.
