The service was pretty good; they were just very short staffed so it took over an hour to get our food. It is a super cute restaurant; I loved the decor here! The drink was a mango margarita with tajin rim and was delicious! I was bummed they were out of chile rellenos as was as my second choice, carnitas. We ended up ordering the pastor kekas and the pastor chimichanga. The chimichanga was great; I just didn't love the pastor, but it was still yummy! The look of this place is so fun and kitschy! You can smell the kitsch. It kinda adds to the experience. Server was great. But... we were there for about 2 hours... Just about filled up on chips and salsa. It's an interesting salsa! i think it had lots of black pepper? Chips were brittle and kinda greasy. My gf enjoyed her drink I just had a water. Food was okay. They were out of carnitas so we had the other pork option. Not great. It's a fun place if you're in the area to get drinks and maybe enjoy a appetizer. Food is lacking in flavor. First time I've come to a Mexican restaurant and the beans were bland. It's almost as if this was made for a bland palate. The waitress took forever to check in on me as well. I will never try this place ever again. It competes with Florence SC area in regards to how bad you can make a food. Never thought I'd see this in Florida. While it looked the part, the actual steps taken to prepare said food had so much room for improvement. Came here for dinner with friends on Saturday evening. We had 6 adults and a baby. No wait, the restaurant was empty except for a few tables. Once our party arrived we ordered drinks, which took some time considering everyone else in the restaurant had been there some time and had drinks already. I ordered queso and my friend ordered the table-side guac for appetizers. Both were delicious, but our server didn't bring any plates for the guacamole, and having a large table sharing we needed somewhere to put the guac and queso. When I asked for plates, he brought out 2.... So I shared one with my friend. I would have asked for more but he disappeared after dropping off the 2. Our food came out after some time and in waves. My order was incorrect but I was hungry and didn't want to wait for it to be fixed or have everyone feel like they couldn't eat because I didn't have my meal. The server did ask if I wanted it fixed (when he brought it out he told me they made the wrong thing) so kudos for the awareness, and not his fault for the kitchen's mistake. The food was pretty good. Not the best tacos ever, but enjoyable for sure. My friend said she loved the rice! The Margaritas were definitely hitting correctly so kudos to the bartender too. I had to flag down our server to get my friend's daughter a refill. Although her glass was empty when the food was brought out. Little thing, but as a former server myself I notice that kinda stuff. All in all the meal was good. We had a lovely catch up, and some tasty bites. We did agree that it would have been a nightmare had the restaurant been busy. Our food took over 30 mins to come out and the place was basically empty. I didn't use the restroom but some of our party did and warned it wasn't great...but I can't fairly speak to it as I didn't go in my self. My wife begged me to come here for the last 7 weeks , said she read a review that Bill left saying it was the best in lake county. So I decided ya know what, I'll go spend my last little bit of free money for the month at Eduardo's. Wife took a cute little pic with the donkey out front and all. Chips n salsa is to die for and the aroma is breath taking. Really puts you in a mini Mexico! Just when I thought this night was going well.... CODE BROWN!!!! We're about 13 minutes out from the house and BAM it hits.... BUBBLE GUTS OH SHOOT! I floor it and can feel it seeing day light.. hadn't yoyo'd this hard since 93. My girlfriend and I went to Eduardo's Lokos Tacos for the first time tonight. Isabell seated us promptly and took our drink orders right away. That's when things went very wrong. Eventually she came back for our order. We placed our order and asked for queso as a starter. The queso, btw, was very good. We weren't crazy about the salsa. It was very bland. After sitting there for an hour, we flagged down Isabel and asked about our food. She ran to the kitchen and came back in a few minutes. She said it would be about ten minutes. There was a large party ahead of us. So here's the problem. I don't recall seeing them when we walked in. It's possible they were there before us, but if so, there must have only been one person cooking in the kitchen. I suspect she forgot to put our order in. In the meantime, we had to flag down Isabel again after 15 minutes from the last time we saw her and still no food. At that point I was done. I asked her to bring us a check for what we owed. We paid and left. And by the way, the "large" party was six people. Hardly a large party. And the restaurant was no where near full. read more

Decided to take my wife to a different Mexican food restaurant instead of our usuals. I spent some time going through Yelp for ideas. Eduardo's Lokos Tacos popped up and after looking at the pics and the menu, decided that's where we should eat. We waited until she was done with work to head that way...and we were starving! We had eaten there before, but it's been so long that neither of us could really remember if we liked it or not. Upon arrival, everything was fine. Server was nice, the margaritas were decent and the salsa was ok (after we spruced it up with salt and some lime). My wife ordered her meal and I ordered mine, which was the Taco Tuesday tacos AND a taco meal, so I could have leftovers the next day. First issue was my first tacos. I ordered the authentic tacos with soft corn tortillas. When my tacos arrived, they were flour tortillas. Not really an issue and took my first bite...not bad. While having our usual good conversations (pretty good for being married for almost 26 years!), all of the sudden, my wife's eyes get HUGE and makes an audible gasp. It's not really a usual reaction for her, so of course I follow her eyes to what was causing the reaction. Next to me, not one foot away was a two inch cockroach walking up the dividing wall between the two booths. I don't know about you, but I don't want to share my eating space with a huge cockroach. We let the server know and she immediately moved us and said she was getting her manager. We moved to a table across the booth we were sitting at. We watched for several minutes as the cockroach was mounted on the wall, determining what food he could eat that we had left. Busboy came by to look at it, nothing. Maybe a few minutes later, the manager picked up the cockroach with a paper towel, wiped the wall where the roach was (never mind the entire path that roach took and I suppose the manager was satisfied with his cleaning. At this point, neither my wife or me wanted to eat anymore. I don't think we could have if we wanted. We were both feeling somewhat uneased and didn't even want to touch our food (she had maybe one spoonful of shrimp cocktail and I had about half a taco). We just wanted out of there. At some point the server stopped and asked if we wanted anything else or a box to pack the food. That's a no for me, dawg. Now this is where the story gets a little strange, never mind having to share a booth with the big bug from Men in Black (never thought I'd want Will Smith to arrive with his neuralizer) Another few minutes pass and the manager arrives to check if we wanted anything else. We explained we just lost our appetite and didn't want to eat. **He proceeded to tell us that there was nothing he could do to get rid of cockroaches and that we should be happy it was a big one, and not a small one. He explained that "it's just Florida" to have palmetto cockroaches in the restaurant. He let us know they come in when it's hot and humid. Never mind it was 69 degrees and not a shred of humidity in the air. HE TOLD US ITS NORMAL FOR COCKROACHES TO BE IN THE RESTAURANT AND WE SHOULD BE HAPPY IT WAS A BIG ROACH AND NOT A SMALL ONE!!! Needless to say we were a bit speechless. He did say he wasn't going to charge for the meal, so that's good. There was a couple across from us who heard the conversation and they were mortified because they had just eaten and were paying. They were pretty grossed out and I heard one talking about calling the health department. Not a bad idea. Wife and I left determined to never step foot in that restaurant again. I love this place. A hidden gem and the best and most authentic Mexican you'll find in the Lake County area. Eduardo ("Eddy") and his Mom make a fantastic team of warm/convivial host and amazing chef. The authentic tacos are exactly as advertised. Squeeze a lime over that seasoned beef, fresh cilantro and hand-chopped white onion in a homemade corn tortilla and the gates to heaven open. And I used to think of quesadilla as Tex-Mex or a kids' meal. No more. The steak quesadilla is to die (or kill) for. And the wings? Some of the best I've ever had. For the record, I like this place, but it's short of being great - but it's also crazy cheap. The prices and value is there and for a short staffed crew they offer good, friendly service. They always have some daily special that is a great bargain and a good happy hour, considering they make a decent margarita for under $4! The portions here are big - basically what they lack in quality is made up for in quantity. Unfortunately, some of the cuts of meat force me to limit my choices to what I can get. The steak is mostly chewy, and the al pastor is a step below at just partially chewy. If you go with the chimichanga or the grande burrito - just know they are giant. Easily, 2 people could share either. Anything that is a dinner also comes with rice and beans, these are really large sides. Dinner can take awhile, though, so try not to fill up on chips (we waited an hour once). It's a local, and mom & pop-ish but still clean. Service is good for the limited staff onsight. Heard about this place through the local radio station (WQBQ1410am/FM). I used my certificate I won from the radio station and tried it out. The food definitely did not disappoint!! The salsa is unique, little bit of sweet with little bit of spicy. Nice to nibble on with chips before the entree came out. I ordered the Looks Tacos. Oh my, I highly recommend them. I'm so glad I finally tried Eduardo's after reading all the reviews on Yelp. It's the best Mexican restaurant in the area. Good atmosphere, several booths,tables and a small bar section. No outdoor patio. Service was good. Happy hour until 7 every day and all day Sunday. Good drinks. The best taco salad I've ever had! It was huge, brought half of it home. First of all, I could live off Mexican food! That being said, this place was phenomenal. Came here for lunch and sat at the bar (they have all day happy hour on drinks at the bar!). Both the server and bartender were very friendly and accommodating. My husband and I shared the table side guacamole (we did not get it made table side since we were at the bar, but did not matter!) and it was a huge portion. I was really looking forward to this meal. I was taking my wife and kids out for the first time in a long time for good reasons, but this was a unique time together for us. It made it unofficially special. The experience ended up being so bad that I actually typed most of this review at the restaurant while they wasted our time, our special occasion, and took our money. The service was not good. I've been here once before with a large party and the service was bad then as well, but I thought it was due to the large party (we were there for over two hours with the large party that time). Wrong, I can affirmatively say that the service indeed sucks. We ordered our food and appetizers and they never brought out the drink I ordered from the bar. I had to ask for it about 20 minutes later. It made me wish I had just ordered a beer. I mean a bar at a local Mexican place should be able to churn out some margaritas on any given night, especially a weekend night. More margaritas = more money, right? Well that only works if they can actually get them to the customer to drink them. I ordered a water after I saw how it was going to be. This was the beginning of sorrows. We ordered the table side guac, which was really good, but they didn't bring us any additional chips. So we didn't get to finish the special thing we ordered. This was low hanging fruit to simply furnish the chips, but they couldn't be bothered. Eventually, when we were finally checked on we were able to ask for more chips, but this really took some time. We did wait an exceptionally long time for our food, no refills. We noticed the people who sat down after us, a larger party of two families, getting their food. After over an hour, they come out to tell us that the receipt printer went out and they could make all of the food except mine to come out at the same time. I told them to just bring my family's out and I could eat as soon as my dish was done. All this going on and there was never a manager visit on a weekend night, just to make sure everything was ok. After the way everything had gone so far I was pretty pissed off. I was literally waiting on them to also charge me full price after this terrible experience, which I fully anticipated because that's exactly what a place like this would do. And sure enough it was full price. I didn't ask them to reduce it as I just wanted to get the hell out of there. It really wasn't about the money, I just wanted them to prove this is who they are so I could include it in this review. The only thing more insulting than the service and meal experience was for them to unashamedly ask full price. So they got their money and now they can have their review. If you like crappy Mexican food, terrible service, and your time isn't valuable - this place will be your new favorite. Don't say I didn't warn you. There are lots of other places that work hard to earn your business. Actually there are lots of other places that will treat you at least with the minimally acceptable level of courtesy as a paying customer. This place isn't one of them. read more
