Went with a group of thirteen. We were seated promptly. It was very loud. Drink orders were taken promptly. There were chips and salad on the table ... good thing. Orders for food were taken and we waited. We waited some more. You guessed it ... we waited some more. Someone in the group asked the server if we were ever going to get food. This was on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was pretty full, but the wait was exceptionally long. As I said ... good thing for the chips and salsa. I had a dinner combo. Chimichanga, burrito, crispy corn taco, rice, and beans. The food was OK and arrived warm/hot. The chicken was a little tough but OK. Everything was average with no shining star. This is our 4th time here and this time it wasn't as good as before. Maybe just an off day? I hope The 24b lunch enchiladas was just ok. I had one cheese which was nice & hot and melted well. I had one chicken which was also ok but the chicken wasn't that warm. The chicken fajitas (my husband's) was also just ok and normally he loves them. Delicious surprise!!!! We stopped by for lunch and boy we were not disappointed. Greeted by a smiling face and actually asked us where we would like to sit, we selected a booth close to the bar which was fun watching everyone that came in. Service is great everyone is happy and very helpful with the menu. I ordered fajitas and they were delicious with a generous serving of fajitas and rice and beans. Chips and salsa were great. My friend order chimichanga and wow it was great also served with rice and beans. The servers mostly speak English and they are very nice & attentive. I would bring groups of people here either for business meetings, family gatherings or to party with your favorite bottle of tequila. They have all these scenarios covered. It was as though it was prepared by an amateur. The chicken & veggies was not served in a skillet, had no taste! Everything was served on the same plate, usually the fajita is served on the skillet & rice, beans, etc served on a separate ate plate! We came with a large party of 12. We were immediately seated. The staff are friendly and attentive. The decor is classic Mexican restaurant. The chips and salsa are good. My La Palma bowl was full of flavor and delicious. We did have to wait over an hour for our food. Just beware, you need to have plenty of time when dining here and not be in a rush. read more

Great Mexican food for the area. We stopped in with the family while visiting from Texas. Ordered the burrito and chimichanga lunch combo and was not disappointed for the amount of food for the low price. Ended up going with the shredded beef for the burrito and chicken for the chimi. I regret not going with the shredded beef for both as it tasted so good. Was incredibly juicy like a tender pot roast. The chimi was nice and lightly fried and did not have any extra grease from cooking it which is always preferred to keep it crispy and not eat any grease pockets. The chips and salsa were my only let down as the chips just tasted stale and the salsa seemed to be watered down. So, I know that eating in a restaurant is going to be a different experience than ordering delivery. However, you do have certain expectations, one being the food you order is what you get. I ordered an appetizer of queso and chips. The queso was okay, but very runny. For the main course, I ordered the steak fajita. I was given the option of a flour or corn tortilla. I chose the flour. When I got my order it included all the customary fixings for a fajita except one, the tortilla! I had nothing to hold all those ingredients together, which was a huge disappointment. So, while I was disappointed in my takeout order, I do look forward to dining in the restaurant and having a much better experience. read more

We were visiting my cousin in Summerfield and my . husband wanted nachos. He remembered going to La Palma 2 years ago. We were visiting my cousin (we had driven down from NY) , unfortunately I fell ill and was admitted to the hospital in Leesburg. The hospital food was horrible so my husband went out to get us dinner. He remembered seeing a Mexican restaurant when coming to see me. This was when he found La Palma. We remembered how good the food was. We now live in Sebastian so we made a small detour to satisfy his craving for nachos. We were immediately seated at a booth and ordered chicken nachos. I wasn't hungry and decided not to order anything but thought about bringing something home for dinner. I'm glad I waited. While waiting for the nachos we ate the fresh chips and delicious salsa....then the plate of nachos came...I'd say it was more of a platter piled with chips, chicken, and a creamy mixture of beans and cheese (I'm not sure exactly what it was but it was amazing). I never had nachos served in this fashion but glad I did. These were some of the best nachos we ever had. I was going to ask how they were prepared, but I forgot. We brought home what we couldn't finish, more than half of the platter...that's how generous the serving was. We now live in Sebastian and will make sure to take the detour the next time we are in the area. read more

LaPalma Mexican restaurant This is a good solid place. Service was quick and friendly. Many choices (which is fairly standard for the Mexican places I have been). We had split the Hawaiian fajitas (steak, shrimp, chicken, and ham along with pineapple, onions and green peppers) "delicious" and more than enough for two people. We also tried the 3 for 1 margherita's which had many flavors to choose from but we're completely lacking in any taste booze. Super atmosphere - outdoor seating also looks like a good choice. I stopped by La Palma to a have a few adult beverages with a couple of friend, ok a few beers, and ended up having a delicious take home meal. I ordered the Fajitas, steak- chicken-shrimp, it was fresh and delicious. Our waiter, Austin, was very busy but definitely took good care of us. I look forward to going back next Friday, who knew it was a "thing" for my buddies. I'm certainly glad that I took them up on their offer. Hopefully I'll see you there next Friday. read more

They have about 6 flavors and we tried the mango, blueberry-pomegranate and the mixed berries. We got them frozen and it was basically a scoop of slush with flavor added, plus sugar around the rim. It was like a tasty smoothie- with no alcohol. Maybe there was some, but it was minimal if so. Ordered the Hawaiian fajitas (without bell peppers) and it was so good! Plenty of food for two, we couldn't finish. The salsa is also excellent. They have a cute outdoor covered dining area which I will try when it's more suitable weather. The fajita plates arrived with a large portion of protien and veggies ( a single feeds 2 easily) "that" was the favored pick of the day...I was the oddball. I tried the "protien" bowl... It's namesake, the La Palma Bowl. - layers of protien rice, black beans, grilled corn, avocado, your choice of steak, chicken, shrimp or carnitas protien. I chose grilled shrimp.( could have been a bigger helping but delicious ) and topped lightly with a white queso... I think that is what it was...very good...seemed healthy enough. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the endless chips and salsa... I had a California burrito with shredded chicken it was not as described on the menu they left out the guacamole and sour cream, also ordered the street tacos and again bland with no flavor not even a jalapeño. We got a free guacamole app for signing up ahead of time for their VIP club on their website. The guac was good. The shrimp chili relleno was disappointing. I am used to getting my chili relleno crispy and this was very soggy, but with a decent flavor. I got ground beef on my taco and it was a good taco, tons of meat. I was supposed to get ground beef in my chimichanga and sope, but I received shredded beef. It was really good, so I didn't say anything. The rice and beans were Excellent. My boyfriend ordered the California burrito with carne asada and was very disappointed. It was mostly rice and beans with very few, tiny pieces of steak. From a management and servers' perspective, I get it... We had a pretty terrific Mexican meal last night at LaPalma Mexican Grill in Leesburg. The complimentary chips and salsa were average but they were fresh and tasty and took the edge off. My traditional Margherita was absolutely delicious. One of the best I've ever had. The flavor was nicely tart but not overly so. Our son very much enjoyed his bean and meat soup. He said the flavor was different but he liked it. He also liked his chicken burrito which was large and very filling. My bean burritos were, quite frankly, the best I've ever had. Not only was I thrilled to see them offered on the menu, but the taste, nicely cheesy, very much lived up to my expectations. The only sour note to the meal was my husband's bowl. He wasn't thrilled with the taste of the green sauce. That's personal preference. But the chicken was low quality, and that did present a problem. However, the rest of the meal was very tasty so we will definitely be back. So far, it's my favorite Mexican restaurant in or near The Villages although Luna Azul is pretty good, too. read more
