Unfortunately, we had a pretty terrible experience today, so I'm sadly updating my rating. My husband ordered the veggie fajitas and about 2/3 of the way through picked up several strands of hair on his fork. Not just one... but 3 or 4. We noticed on our way out that the cook had long hair and was not wearing a hair net or hat. Gross! I ordered a cheese quesadilla with pico de gallo and spicy salsa both on the side. It came with pico de gallo on the inside and no salsa. The pico had cucumbers in it which was extremely off-putting. My entire quesadilla was soggy and runny and tasted like cucumbers and the cheese was not melted. I feel like if you can't make a proper quesadilla and pico de gallo, you should not be a restaurant cook. Needless to say we were so disgusted by our experience that we won't be going back. Still good but each time I go the changes they make in the food are not to my liking. For instance, they dropped the bean dip was the first one I noticed and then this last time they no longer had the Birria that we had really liked, except in tacos and the waiter advised me to be sure and read the menu whenever I come in as they are prone to make changes. They still have the green rice that is good but the food this last time was not hot. This is a failing of many Mexican restaurants, and I took most of it home to reheat and will ask them to make sure it comes out hot the next time I'm there. read more

We just popped in by chance for dinner and we liked it so much that we went for lunch the second day. The food was great. The fish tacos were wonderful. The fried fish fillets were crispy outside and juicy inside. The Mango salad on top gave it a refreshing and slightly fruity flavor, not too sweet. The tacos had a grilled cheese crust making it cheesy and crispy. We also ordered pulled pork fajita salad. The pork was juicy and tender. The salad was very fresh. The sweet corn in the salad balanced the greens very well. We had a light lunch with chicken taquitos. It was a simple dish but they made the flavors came together so well. We really enjoyed the food. The serving staff was very nice and helpful. The rustic deco makes for the perfect ambiance in this town known for gold rush. We will definitely go back again next time we go to Sutter Creek. read more

My husband and I have been visiting Amador County for years. We were headed to Pub and Grub but the gentleman at the visitor center mentioned that Rosa's Cocina was owned by the same people. We decided to try it and sat at the bar. The service was great, the drinks were delicious (the mule was on the small side) and the food was so delicious. I had the taco salad with the chicken tinga and was so happy to have spring mix rather than boring iceberg or romain and it was so fresh. My husband had the quesabirria Tacos plate and loved it. Run, do tot walk, to some of the best Mexican food around. Certainly best in Amador county and even better than I have eaten in Sacramento, and would give the Bay Area a run for their money. The mahi-mahi and the shrimp fajitas were superb, and the mole enchiladas were delicious. The menu is very interesting full of dishes that I want to try. Even the side dishes are great, with a lime cilantro rice and beans with cotija cheese. They have a full bar, and a "slushy " machine that cranks out delicious frozen Margaritas. Just tried this place for the first time based on a recommendation from the biggest little kitchen store owners. Taiya whose mom makes the salsa was our waitress and was so friendly and kindly helped with drink and menu choices. Everyone (4 of us) raved about the birria tacos, burrito, and my fish tacos were the best we have had. We ordered the street Mexican corn as an appetizer and were so surprised as it was grilled and served perfectly and so fresh! The service was quick and attentive, Ambiance was nice. My rating focused on the price and food. It was hot and plated in an appetizing fashion. I'm not sure if the spice's were a regional taste of Mexico or the restaurants take on Mexican food. Ordered the three street taco plate with rice and beans. It seemed the same spice was used for every item on the plate. It did not taste like Mexican food I have tried before and I did not care for it. One of the main spices was salt which over powered the meal. The entire meal I was trying to figure out the spices but never did. before going I checked the menu on Yelp to see what was offered and the prices. The street tacos were listed at $3 each. The plate ordered added a portion rice and beans. With that said the lunch was $17 per person, an extra $8 for a scoop of rice and beans. This was before tax or tip and we did not order drinks. The total price was $65 for three lunches. I don't know if the menus were outdated but the plates ordered were too expensive for a lunch and the flavor was ?????? I don't know. read more

The Wife and I had the opportunity to have dinner at Rosa's Friday night. what a cute venue and in a great location. the patio will be awesome during good weather. The service we received was decently good, prices were fair, portions were as expected. We both thought the menu was a bit sparse...We ended up ordering the Birria tacos. The tacos were really quite tasty and the Consume (IYKYK) was epic. Although it was different than what I am accustomed to, I really enjoyed the complementary home made fire roasted salsa and chips on the table. The Spanish rice was not quite warm and sort of lackluster, but the beans....the beans... to start, the beans were cold, but even so, they probably would have been ok except for one thing. The fresh beans and warm chips to start have my heart. The service is top notch. So friendly and willing to customize food to vegetarian options. The staff goes out of their way to make sure the food was fresh and hot. The place is mall so you can see the hustle. We ordered the elote, carnitas tacos, and tacos with vegetables only. The dipping sauce for my husbands tacos was amazing. I think he drank it as soup when he finished dipping the tacos. Kids loved the Elote. So smart not having it on the cob so everyone could share. I even got to try the mole sauce they were prepping. So yum! The out door sitting area accommodated us with the kids and the spot is local in town, so after we ate and sipped a margarita or two;-), we were able to shop on Main Street. My husband and I came here for our Babymoon as a small get away from the Roseville area. We were excited to see a new restaurant since we got married here 1.5 years ago. Although other reviews say otherwise- it's only been open for a month and we had an amazing experience. The chip, salsa and bean dip were yummy. We ordered the elote side and birria bowl that came with tortillas and it was delicious. We shared these dishes and still walked away with leftovers and full bellies. The service was great. Service to get our food took quite awhile. It was only the two of us around 2 pm on a week day. Our server was unfriendly and unattentive, although she was chatty and nice to the people at the other table that she knew. We asked for a few common items and never got them or even an acknowledgemt that she forgot, When we asked for the check, she placed the credit card machine on our table with the receipt and walked away. I know this is a new business and it seems like they're trying to iron things out however, we came early on a Friday, ordered nachos. It took a very long time to get our food, when the nachos were delivered to our table, they were cold. The cheese sauce was obviously canned and very unappetizing served cold. The chicken was so dry we just ate the chips. We didn't send it back because at that point, we had waited so long we didn't want to be there any longer, we ate what we could and asked for our bill. After 30 minutes waiting we stopped the same waitress and asked for our bill again, she apologized for the delay and said it took so long because she wasn't sure who our waitress was... in all honestly we didn't know either since the person who took our order left shortly after.
