Sam Adams, {Sammy} is a respectable businessman. I've bought jewelry over the years from Adams…read moreJewelry. However, a few years ago I bought a ring to Adams Jewelry to sell for me. I mainly shopped at the store in Stroudsburg out of the 4 locations that I knew of. Stroudsburg, Stroud Mall, Tannersville, and last Brodheadsville. I was trying to sell a ring that I purchased from the Stroudsburg location. I was eventually told to try the Brodheadsville location. I took the ring there. I didn't check with them for a while, waiting for a call. However, one day I drove up to the store and store was empty. I tried to call and the phone rang of the hook. I went back Tannersville, Stroudsburg as well, they all closed down. I was shock! No forwarding address or phone number. I was surprisingly disappointed. I use to take pictures in Sammy's upstairs gallery, with all the vintage ships, art work, Greek sculptures, etc... I'm sure Sammy wasn't aware of the transaction that accrued. I feel very ripped off!

My daughter was getting married and wanted to wear them, but one of the backs was misplaced and I went to see if they had one. Turns out they did not. But Pat went above and beyond and had new posts put on my daughters earrings so that she had them for her wedding day, which was in 2 days. Great people who believe in customer service and care about their customers. 5

And the front windows were set up as rooms with antique furniture. It looked a little imposing, and it made me think that there wouldn't really be anything there for a lower-budget customer like me, or for anyone who wasn't in the market for furniture. The proprietor at the desk was pleasant and friendly. He offered to answer any questions I had, but didn't follow me around as I shopped. As I went through the shop's multiple rooms, there was a lot more than furniture. It's a cooperative, so there are different dealers whose merchandise focuses on that dealer's interests and preferences. There was a lot of furniture, but also lamps, Asian pottery, jewelry, crystal, glass, framed prints and pictures, an interesting chess set with cast metal figurines as chessmen, old Coke bottles, small sculptures, some Depression glass. There were not one but TWO complete iridescent Japanese tea sets, including one that had plates and a set of salt and pepper shakers. I have NEVER seen a salt and pepper in an iridescent Japanese set. I noticed a great tin that had held "British Biscuits," lots of glass, a framed Masonic creed, some Anchor Hocking, leather-bound books, a ladies' dressing table, and a wonderful glass demijohn bottle that I wish I had room for! I bought a little turned and carved wooden bowl for a relative who collects wooden boxes and bowls. All in all I was really glad I'd stopped in, and I would recommend stopping there to see what hey have!

They have a lunch menu, plus pastries and baked goods, and 80-plus types of tea to choose from. (You can also buy tea leaves by the ounce so you can brew it at home.) I really hate to have to post a negative review, but I feel it is important to relate my experience…read morewith getting a clock repaired by "Back In Time Clock Repair", which is a service provided at Kathy's Kove & Kafe. The following review is my opinion of my experience in taking my grandmother's clock there to get the 8 day key winding mechanism repaired, which had stopped running. The clock had recently been hanging on my wall for several years, where it was regularly looked at and admired by both myself and my family members who remembered it hanging in my grandmother's home for over 50 years. The clock was taken to Kathy's Kove where it was looked over by Kathy and I was quoted a price of $125 for the repair. I was told that the clock would be given to another individual who does the actual repair work. I agreed, and the clock was left with Kathy. Several days later, I received a call saying that if I wanted the original mechanism repaired, it would now cost several hundreds of dollars, but that they could remove the mechanism and replace it with a quartz (battery) mechanism. I was not happy about this turn of events, but the clock has sentimental value to me, and I would like to keep it running so I agreed to have it switched over to a battery mechanism. A couple of weeks after that, I received a call that my clock was ready to be picked up. When I went to the shop, my clock was laid out on a table. The first thing I noticed was that a sizable piece of decorative molding circling the clock face was now missing. I immediately brought this to Kathy's attention, and she brushed off my concern by saying something to the effect, "Oh, it was probably like that when you brought it in, and you probably just didn't notice." OH, REALLY??? I had this clock hanging on my wall for several years, and looked at it all the time. I THINK I WOULD HAVE NOTICED A LARGE PIECE OF MISSING MOLDING BY NOW!!! I noticed that a photocopied picture had been taken of the damaged area, and stapled to the receipt I was handed when I picked up the clock. This photo was taken at some point AFTER I left the clock in their care. No photos were taken of the clock when I dropped it off, because there was no damage to note at that time! Of course, there is nothing I can do now except live with the damage, as these kinds of situations are their word against yours. They of course just claim the clock was damaged when it was entrusted to them, but I know it was not. And that is where things will unfortunately have to be left. But I can inform and warn others of my experience, and advise that if you have a clock that needs repair, especially if it is a treasured family piece that you have a sentimental attachment to, that you seek out another place to get it repaired. If you entrust a clock here, you do so at your own peril. I of course will not patronize these people again.
