This is a cute family restaurant and has a lot of personal touches in the decor - winter and Valentine's Day themed. Our server was sweet and friendly. The prices are extremely low, but it is cash only. I had the Fiesta Breakfast Plate and for the price it was okay. The eggs were moist and the rye toast was hot and flavorful. The mushrooms on top of the eggs were canned which wasn't what I expected. The salsa helped liven things up. My husband had the ham and bean soup. He said it was definitely homemade, but there weren't very many beans in the bowl though they did have Westminster crackers that he loves! Overall, we would probably go back when we were in the neighborhood, but order something else. read more

Hubs had the cheeseburger and onion rings and I had the Manhattan which was a top round roast beef sandwich with brown gravy on top and mashed potatoes with the brown gravy, both dishes were very good. First - it's BREAKFAST! Have to love it first thing in morning. Next it's filled with locals who are chatting away, never spent much time in a town with locals, but wishing I lived here now - everyone is glad to see everyone else. The food is pure hometown good food. But when it has veggie specials you know the push for health made it's way here. But, who can resist toast with butter already melting and spread on the whole warm piece? Pie for breakfast... I stopped myself there, but I'm coming back on my way back home. Stopped by Rosalie's on my road trip and had breakfast for lunch. Service was very friendly in a southern way and the food was great. I had a veggie omelet and it was delicious. How did the waitress know I like hot sauce on my eggs? Well, she offered it and I accepted. The toast was served with melted butter on it, which was nice. This will be my go to breakfast spot on my way back and forth from the cabin. Great meal, great price! read more

Rosalie's is a no-frills, classic Midwestern mom and pop that specializes in breakfast and lunch. The hubs and I arrived on a Saturday around 11 am and the place was packed. After standing awkwardly at the door for a few minutes trying to figure out if we should seat ourselves or wait, we finally grabbed the closest available booth. After almost 10 minutes, the server came and gave us menus, then disappeared for another 10 minutes. It was busy and we weren't in a rush so I wasn't too annoyed by the slowness. I asked if they did poached eggs and was told yes, so I ordered them. They came basted (oh well) and definitely overcooked. One was cooked hard, the other medium. I can't be too critical though...poached eggs are hard to master and in my experience, rarely do restaurants cook them correctly. I don't know why I bother. Otherwise , it was a typical breakfast. My hubs ordered the Mess and said it wasn't too greasy but waaay too much cheese. Overall, cute place but nothing stood out as exceptional. They had a big pie selection though...maybe I'll try a slice next time I'm driving through. read more

Mom and Pop place is convenient to the antique mall and hiway, but a I won't stop again. We came on a Sunday place was hopping. Ordered diner breakfasts as that's what we get in a diner. 35 minutes later still no food. 40 minutes it shows up pretty cold. Portions were average to small, taste was bland(even the eggs and bacon were kind of meh). Tried French toast and some breakfast sandwiches. Skip the German fries they were NOT German - more like hash browns someone as an afterthought put a little onion and green peppers that were cooked separately. Total bill 15.64 plus tip. I actually think I could have gotten a little better quality for 2/3 the price at McDs and I don't eat at McDs. read more

We were looking for a good place for breakfast and saw Rosalie's. It was a local restaurant and the parking lot was full. That was a good sign, so we stopped. They were crowded, but had us seated quickly. Service was great, the food was great and the staff was very friendly. You felt at home. One of the owners stopped by to chat and see how things were. I really love Rosalie's! Why? It's like eating at home. Everyone knows your name and greets you as you come in the door, as well as when you leave. The pies are amazing - the crusts are homemade and flaky. If you don't see exactly what you want on the menu, they will find a way to come up with it. The homemade soups are delicious! We eat there once or twice a week! It's not a fast food restaurant and doesn't claim to be. If that's what you are looking for, go to McDonalds or Hardees. If you aren't in a big hurry, this is the place to enjoy a relaxing breakfast or lunch. It is even better now that there is an ATM in the dining room for those that don't have cash. This strikes me as a great place to get breakfast. Unfortunately We ordered lunch. I got the blackboard special, a grilled chicken salad, the wife got a cheeseburger and cottage cheese. The service was fine, prompt and personable. The salad was the result of a fair amount of effort resulting in a so-so product. The core problem, methinks was the product of not seasoning the chicken breast prior to cooking. It was compounded by the fact that I just doused the salad in vinegar and salt and pepper hoping to add a bit of zip rather than drown it in whatever kind of dressing, so that was my bad. I just seemed unable, despite removing the lid to the pepper in order to dump a bit in my hand and dose the salad with generous pinches, and repeatedly shaking the salt shaker, to generate any discernible flavor. The chef had tried, the base was just iceberg lettuce, so no flavor or nutrition, but there were two small banana pepper rings, and maybe four un-brined green olive rings and two individual quarter rings of two rings of an onion slice trying their damnedest to bring flavor to the party, but the iceberg, bland cheese, bland tomato slices, and uber-bland chicken had these little flavor enhancers out-numbered a thousand to one so alas the flavor battle was lost. In deference to Miss Rosalie, the clientele seemed to be comprised mostly of patrons on the North side of 60, so bland might be a dietary consideration for their regular clientele? The burger was as the wife puts it 2 out of 5 stars, but the cottage cheese was quite good, and the iced tea was brewed though a bit weak. Prices were quite reasonable. read more

I stopped in to visit friends at Rosalie's and found the atmosphere to be comfortable and clean. The help is always smiling. The food is terrific! Being raised Italian, polenta was our staple menu item. This is the first restaurant I know to serve it. I will not only return for the good food but the cream pies are to die for!!! Great home style cooking. Only gave it 4 stars because they only take cash. Which does not both me . For breakfast try the MASS. Little bit of everything. You add or take out what you want. Prices where very reasonable. Open on Sunday as well. Very clean as well. I hope you like as much as we did! read more
