We stopped in to get the Egg Nog and ended up getting 4oz 4 flavor flight. What a great idea, ice cream flight. Farmhouse, waffely good, cheery cheese cake and mocha Carmel chip. We liked Farmhouse the best, but they are all very good ice cream. Always, always worth a visit. Phenomenal locally made ice cream in flavors both classic and avant garde. Ditch tea delight (think mint chocolate chip but fudgier; I believe it has Oreos in it) is a perennial favorite but there's not a bad flavor to be seen, which is good because they rotate some of them seasonally. You can also purchase cheese, milk, eggs, cold cuts and (I believe) the occasional produce item from their coolers, which are all either also Hartzler-made or from another local company. And they have pints of ice cream available for sale as well. A must-visit for anyone looking for a dessert in that neck of the woods! read more

Offering a nice variety of flavors and reasonable prices this is a great place to grab some excellent ice cream. I got a 2 scoop dish with the Chocolate Royale and Waffle Cone. The ice cream itself is outstanding, very creamy and smooth with excellent flavor; the chocolate is rich and deep, the vanilla has a fresh and bright flavor. The only fault I could find was that I did not get any of the raspberry flavor and very little waffle pieces; the chocolate chips were not of the same quality as the other ingredients, to me they were a bit chalky. Anti-Mask establishment. No employees will wear masks during the covid outbreak. All, get this all employees say the have a health condition that prevents them from wearing a mask. They may tell you that you need to be closer to God and will be protected from getting a virus. So foolish to obviously lie about being able to wear a mask to each person every day and still think that is behaving "Godly". When was the last time God lied to you? Our families have been regular patrons for years until now. They obviously blind to being sanitary. We will never go back into that place or buy their products at the grocery store. read more

We love Hartzlers milk and egg nog, so decided to stop in while we were in town. Once there, we realized they had lunch. Skip it!! I had the BLT and you could tell there was zero care in putting it together. The bread was not toasted, a dollop of mayo on only one side and bacon all stuck together in a pile! Yes, the bacon was good, but the rest left a lot to be desired! My husband had two hot dogs and only ate part of one. It was cold and said it was 'gross'. Stayed in Orrville, OH, one night last week. Yelped "ice cream", read the reviews and decided to give Hartzel's a try. When I arrived, there was only one person in line. Wandered over to the freezer where they kept the pints. Spent about five minutes or so reading the explanations of flavors like "Trip to the Dentist." Turned around to see about a dozen people in line. Rats! The employees handled the crowd well. The line moved smoothly. I got my order fairly quickly. Kudos to the employees! Unfortunately, my visit was three days and 350+ miles ago, so I can't remember what flavors I ordered. I do remember that the two scoops I got were delicious! The quality, as well as the flavor, was excellent. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely return to Hartzler's. read more

Yum Ice Cream! I came up for a wedding and made a quick stop here for lunch and some ice cream. The Ice cream was very tasty and worth the 15 minute out of my way drive. The sitting area is very conducive with a little one year old as well. My daughter loved the ability to crawl around on the carpet and they have few toys in the corner. Great family place. I ordered some chicken fingers for the little one and a Reuben for myself. These items would not give this place five stars as they were your run of the mill microwavable foods.
