Went to visit my brother-in-law in Lasalle, IL. We were craving pizza and we went to Rosati's Pizza. We got an 18-inch green pepper with pepperoni and the other half bacon, sausage, and jalapeno; the pizza was so delicious and the wings were saucy and crunchy!!! I requested well-done wings and they were, yay!!! The service was great and friendly and the store was clean and organized. I ordered two medium pizzas there was a deal that I got for ordering them. Never the less everything was good service, delivery, pizza. I don't know if I'm just old or if I'm just nitpicking, but I grew up in Aurora and rosati's was there before they were a franchise, just seemed like there pizza and beefs were better than even my best friend noticed it. They still put out good food just not the same as it was before they were before they were a franchise. Like I had their stuff pizza same as they were before they were a franchise, it's a hit and miss still good but they're some better spots out there to eat pizza especially at the price. After many years of getting square cut pizza, though, I was told it was no longer available? I wasn't sure I understand why, but the pizza maker agreed to do it by hand. He did a good job. Always 1love the Chicago style deep dish, but just had the chopped salad. DELICIOUS! The grilled chicken tasted like it just came off the grill. The combination of veggies and spinach and romaine is perfect. My only complaint was that it wasn't actually chopped. Still had to do a lot of my own work, but worth it! I ordered a large pizza for $29 and change I asked the cashier for the cheese and red peppers and she points to two packets of each sitting in a dirty tray. I asked her if there anymore she proceeds with a comment and tell me "as far as she can see that it".I asked if there are any more in the back she gives me such a dirty look and proceed to the back to go and look come back out with the fresh pack. Holy buckets! What an awesome surprise! Our family of four spent the 30th of December at the Hampton Inn in Peru. We asked the front desk person about the best place to call for pizza delivery. The uninspiring Pizza Hut was one available choice. But she thought Rosati's was delicious and recommended that we consider it instead. We had never heard of Rosati's before so really had no idea what to expect. Man oh man are we ever glad we we did! Because we had never heard of the place, we weren't sure whether their Chicago Style Deep Dish would be as good as the one we'd tried before at Lou Molinari's when we were in Chicago. So we got a small sausage deep dish along with a 14" thin crust pepperoni. We added in a Harvest Salad to the order in hopes that it might pass muster. It's worth noting now that we were given a 30-40 minute window for the delivery time. But it arrived piping hot and ready in about 27 minutes after we ordered it (the salad was, of course, cool though). Unlike some places that screw this part up, it arrived with plenty of utensils and napkins to make us happy. But it must also be said that our delivery guy was about the nicest person ever. Not only was he faster than expected, thorough, and polite, but he was a downright great guy. We had declined to include a tip when we placed the order because had no idea what the delivery experience might be like at that point. Then, like absolute dopes, we realized we didn't have any change smaller than a $20. When I asked him whether he had change for a $20 and indicated that I was hoping to tip him $5, he graciously insisted that it was fine and that we should simply enjoy our meal without worrying about a tip. I said "are you sure?" and he urged us to enjoy our dinner and have a happy new year. What a nice surprise! Honestly, in retrospect, I should have just given him the entire $20 because he really was the ideal delivery person. Well, I can't skip past our review of the food. WOW! Everything was absolutely delicious! The deep dish pizza was absolute perfection! It was so delicious that it makes us long for such good pizza here in Minnesota. In retrospect we wish we would have gotten only deep dish because the thin crust, while very tasty, kind of plays second fiddle to the super tasty deep dish! The crust was perfect, the beautiful chunky tomato sauce on top was ruby red perfection, the cheese was more than ample -- stretching off of each slice as we pulled it from the pie, and the Italian sausage is something I've continued to crave since we left. On top of great pizza, the Harvest Salad with it's perfect generous portion and the super tasty apple cider dressing was the perfect compliment (even though I was unsure whether I'd like it so asked for balsamic dressing too). Well, our group of 4 (my wife, our two tweens, and me) were more than satisfied. We even had some leftovers to put into the car cooler and have cold for lunch on our drive back to Minnesota the next day. Yay! Look, I realize that a review this gushing and long might seem fake. I assure you it's not. We live in St. Paul, Minnesota and don't know anyone associated with this pizza place. In fact, I'm a little big confused because there seems to be more than one Rosati's pizza chain. I compared phone numbers to assure myself that this was the right one. And you may rest assured that this place is the real deal. You will not be disappointed. Thank you to Rosati's for making such tasty food for our road trip hotel stay. Thank you to the excellent delivery guy for helping us more happily ring in our new year. We sure do hope to have a chance to eat this tasty pizza again some day.
