I was in town for work and this place was recommended to me by someone I was working with. I'm soooo glad they did. The restaurant as very clean and the staff were very friendly but the food will be the reason I return if I'm ever back in the area again. The menu is very diverse. It has just about everything on it. I had not had a hot meal that didn't come out of a box and a microwave for a few days. I ordered the chicken tenders. It came with fries and soup. You could choose from French Onion or Chicken & Rice. I chose the chicken & rice. I should've just ordered the soup because the chicken & rice hit the spot. It tasted homemade and it was hot on a VERY cold day. I hadn't ordered chicken tenders in awhile because they are so common and rather blah. These were different though. They were battered in something that was like tempura. They were excellent. My only complaint is that I had too much food and couldn't eat them all. I've also gotten to where fries don't excite me any more. They are often bland. While these were incredible, they weren't bland and were very good. I paid with cash which knocked 3.5% off my bill, so get some cash before you go. The cost was reasonable as well. In total, my meal was just under $14. This was a great meal! We were seated and then completely ignored for 20 minutes. No one came to take our order, no one checked in, nothing. There were only two high school-aged employees working and just one other customer in the entire place -- it wasn't busy. There's no excuse for zero service under those conditions. We finally walked out. If you can't manage basic customer service with almost no customers, that's a serious problem. read more

This is an older restaurant and the wear shows. The staff are very nice and it looks to be a spot where the local go. It was in walking distance to our hotel. We needed a walk after hours in the car. We were seated w/menus in a booth. They serve breakfast all day, apps, burgers, entree salads, sandwiches, and meal entrees with a kids menu and a seniors menu (65+) on the back cover. I went with the taco salad. It's a big portion with sour cream and salsa on the side and comes with soup. You can add quac if you like. My dining companion got the chicken parm which comes with a side salad or soup and, if you like, a bread basket. It also is a big portion and is served with garlic bread. As someone who makes their own sauce this one was not up to their standards. Still, they ate a good bit of their meal. The salad is pre-cut lettuce and I believe the soup is made off site. Salad dressing is served on the side. Plenty of meat in the taco salad. Salsa has a bit of a kick and there are three kinds of hot sauce on the table if you want more. Something I ate affected one of my many food sensitivities and by the time I got back to the hotel my stomach hurt. It happens. They have a private parking lot. Beer and wine and a few liquors are available besides soft drinks. Restrooms are older and in pretty good condition although they could use a deep, detailed cleaning. Easy review here. Heading east and overnighted at a hotel a couple blocks from Sunfield. Wise choice to bypass the cardboard cuisine at the Quality Inn and enjoy a great breakfast. Got the basic fare of eggs, bacon, home fries, and french toast. (see picture) Everything cooked perfectly and the bacon was awesome. Coffee was very good and I never had to beg for a refill. Total, with tax, only $13.57 Restaurant is very clean and comfortable. Temperature is 15 outside but very comfortable inside. Jackie was my server and she was personable and didn't 'hover'. Hasbrowns were raw and the French toast tasted like eggs splashed in bread. When we asked for powered sugar, waitress rolled her eyes. After asking for coffee refill twice, I went to the wait station to get it myself. When I calmly and politely requested the bad meal to removed from the bill, waitress acted as if she could care less. Then brought the bill with charges for the two eggs that were somewhat editable and 2 sausage links my guest at the table tolerated. No apologies for the service misses, poor quality food, just walked away. *** Should have known something was up when we pulled into a nearly empty parking lot at peak time. Everything about this visit was just wonderful, from the dining area to Shannon, our waitress, to the breakfast order. Excellent coffee, and the yogurt parfait I had was accurately described on the menu: vanilla Greek yogurt (no sugar) with a drizzle of honey, accompanied by strawberries, blueberries and banana slices. With two slices of raisin toast it was more than I could eat. I wish we could find a Sunfield in every stop along our road trip. Sunfield is your typical breakfast diner consisting of breakfast items as well as lunch items. I got the chicken and crepes which included potato pancakes. I never had potato pancakes, and they remind me of hashbrowns. The chicken crepe was A-OK. Service was good, and no complaints. We stopped in for breakfast on Father's Day morning while in Ottawa. We chose Sunfield because it had strong online ratings but we left disappointed. We were given paper menus after being seated and quickly noticed the were missing prices. We asked our waitress about it and she explained that since it was Father's Day they were operating with a limited menu. When we pushed for a menu with prices she brought one of the laminated menus that are normally used so we could look up prices for items we were interested in on the special menu. My in-laws ordered the 2x2x2 special. While they enjoyed the thick French Toast they both stated their eggs were cold. My husband ordered the Sunfield omelette which while good was disappointing looking because the omelette was served on a large plate all by itself. No hash browns or fruit garnish. My garden skillet was good although it was small compared to other skillets I've ordered over the years. The parking was very plentiful and had several handicap accessible spots. They were very good at accommodating groups of all sizes and types as quickly as possible. The prices were in line with most places along the interstate but the quality of the food was a bit better than most family restaurants. We ordered a mix of breakfast and lunch. The food was served fresh and hot. The breakfast offerings were a mix of average choices and a little more upscale. With the sandwiches you get a bowl of soup, today's offering was a cream of chicken with rice, it was very creamy and flavorful. The bruschetta would have been better had the bread been a little more toasted but it was tasty. The french toast flight was very unique and delicious it was one piece of traditional, one piece banana nut bread and the third piece was made out of a cinnamon roll it was enjoyed with a little warm syrup. The pattymelt was very good it, was toasty and full of flavor. The service was very our server was very attentive and kept our beverages full. We dropped in for lunch with some friends - they met us part way, since we moved a ways out. This is your typical Greek style restaurant - nice booths, nice art on the walls, and good food. I went with a Gyro Sandwich (when in a Greek restaurant...well,) and my wife had a Turkey BLT Club. Both sandwiches were okay. The gyros didn't appear to be fresh cut, and they are always better cut straight off the broiling meat. The total out the door was around $34 for two people with coffee and lemonade.
