We spent the long July 4th weekend visiting Chicago, and stayed in #3. The space worked very well for two couples. The unit was very clean and very quiet. The beds were comfortable and the linens nice. The kitchen and bath were tastefully done with granite and nice fixtures. All was in working order. The location was perfect. A short walk to the Brown Line, easy on street parking, lots of fun places to eat nearby. West Roscoe had an upscale family neighborhood vibe. We ate at the Turkish place and the Vietnamese place - both very good. A note to anyone who books #3. Make sure that you are comfortable with 2 flights of steep stairs. Make sure you know how to reboot a WIFI. And, ask about the A/C which must be on some sort of preprogrammed setting. We happened to be there when it was quite hot, so we had to often set the A/C to manual to cool off. This condo was a great home base for our 4 day weekend. It's always fun to be able to come "home" after a long day of sightseeing and relax and enjoy each others company in a comfortable space. read more

Five of us came to town for 5 days for our son's wedding, and stayed in one of the guesthouses. The location was convenient to all of our activities. The guesthouse was our "base of operations". The place was immaculate and had everything we seemed to need in the well appointed kitchen. I even put the backyard grill to good use one night. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms had plenty of hot water, parking was convenient, and lots of interesting restaurants within walking distance. The neighborhood was full of happy children, and we enjoyed a game of Frisbee in a nearby park. I had wanted to stay in a hotel, but my wife thought this would be more "homey" and see was right, it was a great decision. The only downside to us was that the toaster seemed to be hard-wired to the smoke alarm, but once we figured out to turn the exhaust fan one before we did any cooking all was well. read more

The property has the potential to be 5/5 stars: great area, good options for transit, granite counter tops, hardwood floor, patio/yard with sitting and grilling area.There were a number of small things that detracted from the attention to detail: 1. Grill interior cooking surfaces and overall interior was covered in rust, igniter broken, had to be reminded that needed propane during stay. 2. Advertised with land line, number in guest book, but no phone could be found. 3. TV is out dated on last legs (color would go in and out) despite pushing the instructed "color" button. DVD player not connected to TV to be play DVDs-audio was fine, but no video input to TV. 4. Toaster in kitchen broken, wine fridge not connected or maybe broken too 5. No maid or towel exchange service done with even a week long stay. No dish soap or enough dishwasher detergent to keep dishes done. 6. Front room really needs blinds, otherwise too bright and no privacy. This area is really the only area to sit around and visit with occupants. 7. Attached 2 car garage but must pay an extra 10$ per night? Maybe offer 1 spot free? 8. Wifi was goofy. Had to connect in kitchen, but then worked throughout apartment. 2 roscoe village wifi signals, but one didn't work. 9. Not your fault, but AT&T dead zone area except in front room. Hence another reason for landline and blinds if you plan to talk on phone or do work. 10. The lock in front bathroom is broken 11. The apartment handbook is a bit outdated with pen and ink changes vs just replacing the information and making it look professional. We stayed at 2104 W. Roscoe, the penthouse (3rd floor) unit for 4 days in late October 2016. As for booking and check-in, the process was extremely smooth. We booked by going to their website and made contact directly (didn't use booking.com, etc.). The website and descriptions were accurate, and the process seamless. When we "checked-in" it was as simple as arriving at the property. again, it is on the third floor and there is no elevator, so be warned the stairs are steep and the up and down is a work-out. Free street parking is abundant in the area. The unit was very clean and surprisingly large. There is plenty of room to accommodate guests. We were there for a wedding and hosted a number of guests between the wedding and reception and there was plenty of room for all. There is a nice small deck off the back and there is a really nice out-door patio space at the ground level that was awesome. The neighborhood was perfect. Restaurants and shops all around within walking distance. Our plans were all in the area and the location worked perfect for us. Stayed here for a few weeks while having work done on the house. Joe, the owner, was very easy to work with. Unit was super clean. It had in unit laundry. Kitchen had pots, pans, untensils, glasses, flatware and plates. Towels were fluffy. Linens and beds were comfty. RVG made me feel at home. I highly recommend this business, both for locals and out of towners who want a true Chicago experience in a family friendly, north side neighborhood that not too far from Wrigley and is an easy walk to public transportation. read more

Roscoe village property and staff was exceptional from the payment process, to check in, to helping us get our bearings around the city and being on top of everything else very flexible on our reservation. We throughly enjoyed the property. For 3 couples the place was great and easy to get to from neighborhood places. The bathrooms were gorgeous - something owners would strive for in their own home renovations. The house definitely helped to make my sisters 30th birthday a blast and we would all stay again. read more

Great location! They have a few different properties and we stayed in the main one on the top floor over Memorial Day. There is another unit below and a cute boutique below that. Perfect location for us. Walking distance to public transportation and located on a tree lined streets with plenty of restaurants and bars. David (property manager) was available for us the whole time. He always either answered right away or got back to us immediately. He definitely made our trip. We had a couple of small issues (didn't know how to switch the TV to watch a DVD and he came right over to do it for us) and he took care of them right away. The kitchen is remodeled and modern even though the building is older. Bed in the main bedroom was really comfortable although our friends couldn't say the same about the other bedroom. 2 bathrooms make it great for more than 2 people staying there. Would definitely recommend it and stay there again. read more

Stayed for a weekend getaway at the guest house in Old Town Chicago while we were visiting friends that lived in Lincoln park and other areas near by. LOVED IT! Very spacious, clean, management was very helpful during the booking process. Enjoyed it more than staying in a hotel downtown with the added space - it was like we were staying in a condo of our own. Will definitely consider this and the other locations with the guests houses/apartments for our future Chicago visits. read more

For the price of a hotel, you get a full kitchen and nice living quarters. Good for a larger group of people, but not what it claims! My fiance and I went for a relaxing weekend, but the jacuzzi did not work at all. It was simply a bath tub with jets that did not work! The Wi-fi did not work anywhere in our unit outside the room with the modem. I really expected more. read more

My husband and I stayed here on 12/9/16. My job's Christmas party was that night and we wanted to stay downtown instead of driving back to the burbs after the party. Being that I was born and raised in Chicago and used to come to this hotel in the 60s/70s it's really sad to see how they've let this hotel go down hill. This used to be the BEST hotel in Chicago! It was a lot like the hotel in the moving the Shining! With that being said the hotel is still nice on a basic level. The rooms are very clean. The beds are nice and the linens are nice. They have a lot of construction going on so it was pretty dusty in the lobby and the hallways. This hotel needs to be renovated badly. Furniture is old and has chips in it. The paint on the walls is old and chipped in many places. My room came with a free Continental Breakfast. Clearly they do not know what a Continental Breakfast is being that all they had was coffee, white bread and some type of apple pastry. No juice. No tea. No fruit. No other pastries. read more
