I grew up in the area so the Rose Bowl has been a fixture in my life. Through the years I've been here for sports events, concerts and the famous monthly flea market. Concerts included Depeche Mode, U2, Rolling Stones, Jay-Z... for sports I've been to a number of UCLA football games (including just a few weeks ago in a suite) as well as the 2006 Rose Bowl game with USC vs University of Texas. Also, on any day of the week, you can run, jog, bike or walk along with everyone else around the perimeter of the Rose Bowl. One lap around the entire Rose Bowl perimeter is 3 miles. It's fun! Amazingly, the Brookside public golf course is part of the Rose Bowl... For major events, they use the greens as parking lot area. As long as I've been alive, this is how they accommodate cars for big events. While the Rose Bowl is a personal, sentimental favorite venue of mine since I'm native to the area... I'm still taking off one star as the facility does need to be updated. Also, as it's firmly in the middle of an expensive residential area, any concert must promptly stop at their set curfew time. If you're seeing a major performer, just know you're not going to get endless encores. read more

Never again. Never. Again. Until they fix the parking situation. Volunteered at the USC vs UCLA game and it took an hour to find my car afterwards. They need a parking structure! Parking in random fashion on the golf course with hardly any landmarks to use in order to remember where you parked does not work. The absolute worst! How about redesigning that golf course and building a parking structure?!? I will never go back. read more

Every time I go to a soccer game at the Rose Bowl, I swear that I'm never coming back, but a few years later my memory fades and I fall for the bait again. Parking is a nightmare (and $49!!!!) and with no organization whatsoever, it took over an hour and 15 minutes to hit the 210 freeway from the time we got to our car and that was with being parked relatively close. What really set me off was that even though the web site clearly states that each person can bring in two sealed one liter water bottles, they were forcing everyone to pour their water into paper cups to carry into the stadium. Very awkward to carry two cups with no lids plus your phone (for tickets). With the constant barrage of text and notices sent to ticket holders, you would have thought that they could have notified us of the change in policy. read more

Thousands of people including me and my family paid a great deal of money for tix and parking only to miss the entire match due to venue and Pasadena city failure re traffic. Over 3 hours in traffic. No help whatsoever. read more

There's no one directing the traffic when you exit, when you're inside, the staff and security don't keep the isles empty. literally all the staff in our section watching the concert and letting people pile in the isles instead of being in their seat and letting people that did not belong in that section just stand in the isle. Felt like a safety hazard. It also took them maybe like 10 minutes to not let people crowd around someone that fainted in the isle. To enter the bowl, there isn't big signs to tell you where you are- or what line is for what. All the lines for food and restroom were so long , no staff directing the lines. Be prepared to wait for HOURS to get in and out of there, and wait more than 30 minutes in restroom lines!! Food lines were over 2 hr wait time. 0/10 do not recommend. read more

The seats are TINY. Makes sense because it was built so long ago, but definitely nothing even close to size inclusive (height or width) options. Also, there's no post event ride share pick up area. I had to walk almost a mile up into the hills to get picked up. It's only a matter of time before the venue gets sued by someone with mobility challenges. read more

Save for the loss to Michigan and snowflakes in Seattle being unable to handle a little snow it wouldn't have happened. 2022 wasn't supposed to begin in California, and all signs pointed to another Buckeye's CFP appearance. But like the rest of last year a last minute scramble found plans changed with the family at the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day. This review is for the FAN EXPERIENCE at a football game held here. We attended the 2024 Rose Bowl game and were VERY disappointed in our overall experience, mostly because of the facility itself and how uncomfortable we were during our visit. The Rose Bowl stadium is an iconic structure with a fascinating history, and it's located in an absolutely gorgeous residential neighborhood - but as a venue for a modern sporting event, it's an absolute DUD. The gates and entrance areas to the stadium are confusing and VERY congested when many people are trying to enter at once, which creates dangerous pedestrian bottlenecks and the risk for fans being crushed as they wait in unmanaged queues to enter. Once inside, people waiting in line at the many concession stands interrupt the flow of people trying to get through the stadium to their seats - again, more traffic bottlenecks are created. The ancient tunnels that lead into the arena and seating area are too small to easily accommodate all the fans entering prior to gametime, so again bottlenecks are created. Once you finally make it through the too-small tunnels, the aisles leading up through the stands are so narrow that it's difficult for fans to pass each other in either direction. (And indeed, given the challenges with getting IN to the arena area of the stadium, several of us wondered how fans would make it OUT in the even of an emergency...) The rows of metal bleacher seats are uncomfortably close together, and the spacing between each numbered seat seems most appropriately-sized for an elementary-age child, at best. The bathrooms are old and worn-out, and needed a good scrubbing. There is very limited seating around the concessions, so enjoying food and drink anyplace other than while crouching in your CRAMPED seat is almost impossible. We were uncomfortable from the time we arrived at the stadium and were nearly crushed in line as we waited to enter, to trying to weave through a chaotic traffic flow and more lines to make it to our seats, to having to straddle the toilet to get the door closed in the toilet stall because the space was SO SMALL. The Rose Bowl is a lovely historic example of a sports stadium that was built in the early 20th century - but it doesn't measure up to expectations of modern fans in the 21st century. The current space is inefficient and uncomfortable, and it wasn't a fun place to attend a football game. We definitely would NOT attend another game at this venue. PS: the internet service is very poor here, so expect to have trouble contacting anyone (including booking a ride). The traffic is horrible here - and flow through the lots is very poorly marked, and doesn't seem to be managed. So if you drive and park, you'll spend hours waiting to get out after the game. And if you plan to contact a driver, you'll never be able to reach them... read more

Saw AC/DC. The show was amazing. Loved seeing AC/DC. Now for the NEGATIVE. The lines in and out are so ridiculous. Took a shuttle to the venue. Once we got off the shuttle it was chaos. Not one person working there new anything that was going on. ZERO direction as too which line is for which gate. We asked a worker and they said, " I have no idea". Once inside there are plenty of restrooms, which was nice. We went through our tunnel and asked a worker standing there, who was there to direct people to the proper section, had NO clue where to direct me. Leaving was NO BETTER. Groups of people mulling around, looking for shuttle line. Found our after about 25 minutes we were in wrong line. Followed the line to the end. It took me about 15 minutes to find the end. It was about an 1 1/2 hour-2 hour line. We opted to walk the 1.5 miles to the parking garage. Took about 35 minutes. Much better than waiting in line. I can't understand how a venue who has multiple football game and tons of other activities, could be so unorganized. I will NEVER return to the Rose Bowl. read more

The Rose Bowl is always a hit or miss experience. However, navigating it is quite the pain! For starters, I was looking into parking and shuttles, but the website doesn't make navigating shuttles from Parsons too obvious. There also isn't much information on shuttle prices - though I enjoyed that they were free but it wasn't advertised as such. I visited the Rose Bowl many times as a college student for football games and recently for a concert. All-day parking was $40 which is bearable, but for the concert it was $50 to park on the grass! Additionally, there is terrible cell phone reception and no landmarks to help you relocate your car after the events. As a football stadium, this is a great place to be. As a concert venue... I have to admit that the either the sound was lacking or the audio engineers did a horrendous job - though if I have to guess it may be a little of both. read more

As a Pasadena resident I love having the Rose Bowl so close. It is great to walk laps around. The views around are gorgeous. Just avoid at all cost for any event lol. This is the worst stadium ever. It is a nice stadium but so unorganized. There is no true lines, security and staff do not care if they see 100 plus people just cutting in front of you. People fighting. Don't get me started on parking and getting in and out of it. It is impossible to get a lyft or uber in our out for any event. read more

Had a great time at FoodieLand Night Market! We ate almost everything: Hawaiian shrimp plate, banana Nutella funnel cake, Filipino Ensaymada's, Dippity Donuts, Yakitori Yado's moist chicken and mochi skewers, Hawaiian Ice... too much to remember! The only downfall... prices seemed a bit steep! As the evening grew later, more people packed in and lines grew longer, but for the most part, it seemed to move along rapidly. It's nice to come with about 4-5 people so u can try a little of whatever your heart desires. Others in our party also had churros, kettle corn, sushi hand rolls, boba drinks... to top it off, we listened to music and bought stickers and more from fun merchandise vendors all in all, a very good night (except the cost of it all!) read more

Great place to ride bike or jogging. Plenty of parking and a lot of open space. For joggers and bikers there is a dedicated path circling around the Rosebowl parking lot, golf course and the stadium. A lot of people take advantage of this and do their morning walking or running on this path. This place also has a aquatic center. I believe you have to either join the swimming club or pay a one time entrance fee to use the pool. Many great swimmers were trained here. For hikers, there are many hiking trails starting from the Rosebowl area. Good to park the car here and start hiking from here read more

I went to the AC/DC concert at the Rose Bowl. It was the worst entertainment experience of my 59 year life. They need to tear it down. They won't allow any traffic, taxis Ubers nothing. The line to scan your ticket was 1/2 mile. That's not an exaggeration. They only opened three gates. It's dreadful, dreadful, dreadful. read more

Went to AC/DC concert. Last time I came here was 15 years ago to see Galaxy Soccer Team. Nothing has changed in all those years. Steps to upper section is about 18 inches high per step. And you dont have handrails after 8 rows going up. Our seats were at tunnel 6 row 57 and I was afraid to fall on somebody with those high steps and no handrail. The Seats are smaller than economy class on an Airplane. For someone to pass you, you have to stand up in the space allotted by your folded seat--so person can pass you. My 6ft2in boyfriend had his knees in the back of the seat in front of us, there is no space anywhere. We all rubbed elbows with the person to the left and the person to the right because thats how these seats are. The concert Sound was good, Our singer choked a time or 2, It was a Light show, and The Entering & Exiting of this Stadium is the Worse Nightmare ever *(its like the lines at Ghost Rider at Knotts Berry Farm) line up for the bus coming and going 12-14 lines of 30 to 40 people. This place needs a SERIOUS UPDATE AND UPGRADE TO CODE OF TODAYS STANDARDS.. IT SHOULD BE CONDEMNED UNTIL ITS REDONE. read more

The iconic Rose Bowl Stadium was really great! It was my husband and my first time there seeing a football game between IU and UCLA. The steps to the bleacher seatings were a bit challenging, since they were unusually high (step to step), so we just took our time going up/down them. The seats themselves were pretty comfortable. Also, the restrooms were quite clean and fortunately there were quite a few around the stadium. As for the parking charge, $44.00 was a bit of a surprise! Didn't think it would be THAT pricey! At least, the attendants accepted credit cards for payment. The staff at the stadium were all very friendly, helpful and courteous. Thank you to all for a fun time at the Rose Bowl! read more

So sad . I came to the Rose Bowl today SO excited to see ColdPlay and HER perform. It is now 5:30pm and I along with HUNDREDS of people seem to be just standing in extremely long lines going in opposite directions with absolutely zero movement. Neither CSC Security nor the hired staffers seem to have any idea on what Gates people enter or if the Gates are actually opened. The concert is scheduled to start at 5:45pm and I have literally been standing in THE SAME SPOT for over 30 minutes. Mind you we arrived at 3:45pm thinking we would essentially "beat the crowd". NOT! I left a message at the Rose Bowl General Voicemail Box about the lack of communication and direction and I would mortgage my Pasadena Home to think I will actually receive a return call. It's such a shame because I absolutely LOVE Pasadena and I think the Rose Bowl could generate MUCH more income and have many more events IF Rose Bowl Administrators could tackle this issue. Perhaps they can contact Disneyland and see how to better handle large crowds ‍ read more

What to hear and see great fireworks? This is definitely the place to be. Plenty of parking. Sometimes people in the neighborhood will let you park at their place for a small fee. Many activities are held at this stadium. I've brought my kids here to see several concerts. This time around, I came to check out Final Fridays which had several food trucks. Good family hangout on a Friday. Bring a blanket to lie on. Many kids running around with some kid friendly activities. Tour the stadium for a fee. Longer tours on other days and of course it costs a little more but interesting to see where the press box is and viewing the stadium bowl from that box. Plenty of parking which was free on Final Friday. read more

I used to have UCLA football season tickets, but gave them up a few years ago. Went back this weekend for a game with friends and it was a great time again. Tailgating at the golf course is always fun to just catch up with friends, pig out on food, and just watch the shenanigans going on with the college students. If you've never been to a game before, plan accordingly. It's pretty easy to get lost with all of the winding streets and road closures. Your GPS should eventually take you to where you want to go, but you can get lost. General parking is now $30 at the golf course. Make sure you look at the balloon with the lot number on it to remember where you parked. It's easy to get lost when it's a night game and you're trying to find where you parked in the dark. If you're tailgating, the stadium shoots off fireworks 30 minutes before the game to tell you to get ready. If you don't like missing any part of the game, leave your party early as it is a long walk to the Stadium and lines are pretty long to get in. Clear bags only and no alcohol allowed inside the gates. I'd bring a water in as they sell a small bottle for $7.00 inside. Food is also $10 and up, so again, you should fill yourself up before the game if you don't like spending a bit of money. Traffic is always bad leaving the game, so if you don't like to sit in traffic, you can leave early or hang out after traffic dies down a bit. Besides that, rose bowl is still one of the most iconic and beautiful places to watch a game. Great weather and friendly fans. Even better when the Bruins win the game! read more

I recently attended a Holiday Gala at the Rose Bowl Stadium and it was truly a unique experience. The Rose Bowl is an iconic venue in Los Angeles and I was excited to party where football legends are made. I use to work as contracted security at the Rose Bowl in the nineties when the LA Galaxy played here. I watched a 1994 World Cup game here with my father and I still have fond memories of these experiences. After I parked, I took an elevator up to the third floor where the gala was being held. The ubiquitous parking security staff were very friendly and although it was dark in some areas, the area felt secure and safe. The event was magical and the customer service, food and drinks were excellent. The buffet lines were long but worth the wait. A special historical tour of the Rose Bowl was being offered, unfortunately it was a freezing night and I declined. However, I heard from some guests who took the tour and they reported the tour was interesting and incredible. The drinks were included so I ordered an Old Fashioned and it was fun to watch how the drink was made. The gala was a total success and I hope I can attend another event here in the future when it's a little bit warmer. Parking was included. read more

Not letting people out if they want to leave early is the worst experience ever for someone who has the fear of feeling confined into one place. The gates were completely closed all the way around. Horrible horrible horrible! This place needs to be organized when hosting events...concerts! So unorganized on entry lines! It was a mess for the Karol G concert. People pushing, it was a stampede. If this doesn't get fixed there will be a huge lawsuit. You would think they would have it together considering Travis Scott's incident, even though Scott's concert wasn't at this location. Also. If I could give it -10 stars that would be gratuitous. WORST VENUE ever. The management needs to be called out for having their heads in the sand. Only 2 exits were open after the Coldplay Concert. It was like giving birth to a Blue Whale. What a hazard. People tripping on the carpet, no movement, no direction. After spending 40 minutes trying to get OUT OF THE BOWL, we had to walk around the golf course to a MILE LONG line for the shuttle that took over an HOUR! and we left the concert early. What a SH*T show. The people working let people cut in line, no order, no direction. A girl in front of me had a massive panic attack. When we FINALLY got to the shuttle, it took 30 minutes to get to Parsons. THEN, another 30 to get out of the structure. We got lucky as we were on the 2nd level. 3 hours to get home from the last song. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO TO THE ROSEBOWL!!!! What a joke. read more

If I could rate this venue 0 stars I would. Attended the oasis concert last night which in itself was amazing. For it to be 2025 and we are paying astronomical prices to sit on rickety benches is unacceptable. I went with my mom who is terminally ill. When we got to our original seats it was literally the back row and there wasn't enough space to sit down. We spoke to someone about our situation and were able to move to an ADA section. That's where the real fun began. ADA is supposed to be accessible right? Well the incompetent security staff had moved several people to stand in between each ADA seat because they had physical altercations with people in their own seats. They were jumping up and down, knocking into people who were sat in these seats for accessibility. At one point, 3 different members of staff came up to the rambunctious person who successfully defending themselves in their right to be there despite not having a ticket for this area. Pretty simple, if you don't have a ticket to that row and specific seat, you do not belong there. And LASTLY, probably the worst part of the full evening....THE SHUTTLE! It took 2 hours!!!!!! 2 hours to get into the line and back to Parsons parking lot. Sheer insanity! To think this venue is a World Cup venue is incredibly scary. The toilets are archaic and falling apart, they ran out of beer & wine during the first oasis song. Luckily Oasis are a one of a kind band to see live which helped this awful experience. ROSE BOWL management needs a complete overhaul before someone is seriously injured. read more

This is my first and last time my gf and I will be attending this venue. Nor will I recommend to anyone else who is thinking of attending any event here. The whole experience was overwhelming. The venue felt super understaffed. The tunnel that lead to my sections was so crammed I couldn't even breathe. I had to shove my way through because people thought it was okay to block the walk way. Women were fighting in the bathroom because some ignorant women decided to go through the exit and make it seem as if that was a line. There should had been staff in there regulating the damn lines. Imagine waiting in line for 20+ minutes just for some girls to go through the exit and cut all those who patiently waited. Our section was so bad ppl kept shoving into my seat and I had to keep repeating myself that it was my seat and I had paid to be there and not for some couple to be pushing up against me blocking the exit. Everyone was doing what they wanted to and it was just so crazy to see people behave like animals. We tried to get a refund due to the fact that we left early from feeling so much anxiety and stress the show was not enjoyable by the time RUFUS decided to hit the stage but we were denied a refund. And I don't understand why ppl think it's okay for an "organized stadium" such as the rose bowl demands the event attendees to get there 3+ hours early. That should not be a thing if the venue was more organized. To whoever decided to have Rufus du sol play at the rose bowl I hope you rethink your decision the next time coming to Los Angeles. Been here several times now to watch UCLA play Stanford, LSU, Oregon, etc. Supposedly the rose bowl capacity is 80,000 but I usually don't see that many attend since UCLA's football team isn't as popular as the basketball. If you're able to uber/ bus over here instead of drive, I would recommend it. The parking lot for 40,000+ plus gets packed before the game as well as after. I missed the first half of the game twice trying to park my car as there is only a single lane for all the cars trying to park. Trying to leave the stadium once the game ends takes another hour or more. The food there is typical stadium food which means overpriced hot dogs/ chicken tenders which run over $10+. It is a nice football stadium to attend though and getting to watch the Bruins play is always a plus. read more

When you're raking in $70/car for preferred parking, fisting $50/car for the folks who decided to hoof it thirty-plus additional minutes to and from the stadium AND swiping admission prices that started @ $25/skull for what is acclaimed "Southern California's largest fireworks show," the bare minimum the Rose Bowl oughtta do is accompany its fireworks with a patriotic soundtrack. You know the drill- Songs like "I'm Proud To Be an American," "America the Beautiful" and "Coming to America." The songs that make you wanna stand up a bit straighter and perfect your salute. Now mebbe the sound engineers were too busy sopping up tears after longtime UCLA football coach Terry Donahue passed away earlier today¹ but c'mon Rose Bowl event planners! We can get musical accompaniment to our fireworks even at the small town pyrotechnic events, so WHY go AWOL when you're robbing, er, charging working families an average of $170 (based on 4 general admission ducats plus preferred parking)?!? The fireworks themselves were very good. 25 minutes of thunderous "kabooms," soaring pyrotechnics and vivid colors sure to please almost anyone. After all of these yelping years, I have never written a review about the Rose Bowl? Well, UCLA Bruins, my beloved alma mater, have not been to the actual Rose Bowl game since the 90's but this is the home field for my team, and I have watched some good and some very bad teams compete here since the early 80's. The venerable old place has, more or less, kept up with its fancy schmancy stadium competition but you have to put the Rose Bowl in a separate category of "classic old" as opposed to "sleek modern". Outside of an awesome video board and waterless urinals, there is nothing modern about this place. Let's start with the tailgating. No place better than here for open space, grass and 36 holes of golf worth of ultimate pregame fun. Booze it up all you like, throw footballs and grill it up. Thousands do this every week and it's a great atmosphere. From uber-fancy motorhomes, to card tables next to your car trunk, you can find endless variations of tailgating. It's $25 with a prepaid parking pass but it can take an hour to get back to the freeway after a game. It's often brutal getting away from here so think about post-game partying at your tailgate spot after a game, with a designated driver. Other options are parking at the Parsons building downtown for $15 and taking the free shuttle to the stadium. Easy going in and a 25 minute walk after the game to avoid the long shuttle line going back. After a close game, the line is hellish. Security getting in is efficient and smooth. Remember your clear bag and it's quick and painless. Concession options are quite good for an older stadium. Bathrooms are plentiful and efficient. The sightlines are the best in college football. The lack of upper deck supports or anything that can block your view are all absent here. As clean of a bowl shape as you can find and there is literally not a bad seat in the house. When we visit the coliseum across town, the visiting fans have to sit 100 yards from the closest corner of the end zone and watch the game from afar. Here, even those in the visitor sections are super close to the action. There is a new luxury suite addition that gives more of a sophisticated viewing and dining experience but I lack both the income and desire to watch from up there. Besides the inefficiency of leaving the stadium, my other major gripe is the seat itself. You are either on aluminum benches with no back rest (outside the 20 yard lines) or in fold down plastic seats. The seats are small and very inconvenient when others need to hit the restrooms or concessions. The 6 ft. And over crowd, like me, are crammed in and your knees are pressed against the seat in front of you. Our species has grown in 100 years so, on the next major remodel, we would appreciate a bit more leg room. The game day experience here is amazing. Great sound and video, an excellent vibe and they represent my school quite well. They do keep it classy, nostalgic and fun. And.....we just beat SC. ;) read more

Came here to see Rufus du sol last night and the stadium was a complete mess. Staff was clueless about sections and questions we had upon entering stadium. They don't check for drugs , let people in with vapes and weed, and cigarettes. Literally people were smoking in all the sections and the security was there and saw and didn't say anything. Some girl in front of us snuck in ecstasy pills into tampons wrappers, while others lit a blunt it was ridiculous while all the smoke was in our face. The tunnels were completely packed and such a major safety hazard in case something where to happen and evacuation was to take place. This was super unsafe and I'm surprise wasn't another Astro world situation. All the sections were overly packed and people were standing on chairs , stepping on people , trying to find spots to stand . All as the security is just standing there, they should have helped people find seats. Rose bowl, do better. The staff SUCKED!!! read more
