I was impressed enough that I texted three friends photos, told my wife to start planning our son's birthday party here, and was actively asking managers about upgrading to full access because I had just discovered the larger "Adrenaline" area. For context: it's Indiana winter, it was cold, and I had a hooded sweatshirt on with the hood up because I was freezing. During my 2 1/2-hour stay, I spoke with two managers about memberships--neither said a word about my hood. While walking around trying to keep up my child, I heard someone off to the side say, "Take your hood off." I approached the man, who asked me politely. I politely asked why it was a rule. His response was shocking: "So I can see your entire face on my 50 cameras." This was 11:30 a.m. on a Friday, not a packed weekend night. I turned away to continue looking for my child, removed the hood, and muttered "whatever dude" under my breath. That's when the situation escalated wildly. He charged toward me, yelling: "I'm the owner--if you don't like it, leave!" I had already complied. That wasn't enough. He then shouted: "I'll give you your money back!" And finally said something that truly crossed a line: "If there are off-colored people with hoods up and we ask them to take it down, what would that look like?" I'm still trying to understand why race was brought into this at all. Let me be clear: * The facility is great for kids * The staff and managers were wonderful * We were not leaving anytime soon until this happened But the owner's behavior was aggressive, unnecessary, and completely inappropriate. A simple rule explanation would've sufficed. Instead, it turned into a power trip with racial commentary that had no place in the conversation. Rules are rules--but how you enforce them matters. I'll take the refund. And I'll take my business elsewhere.

That being said, you do need to watch young children because Escapades is not a babysitting service. You can think you are the best parent ever and then find your older child in the baby area or climbing on the outside of the equipment anyway, just because someone else's child had the idea and yours thought hey, why not? There is always risk of injury at any playground and the staff at Escapades are extremely busy checking kids in, making food, and taking care of the arcade in addition to cleaning up the messes so many people leave behind. Watch your own children.

I've never had a bad experience there. They don't mind if you look around and geek out over all the old tech they have. I wouldn't be surprised if they let you take it on a test-run on the consoles they have there before/after you buy, but I've never tried or asked them personally. Everything you can think of game-wise, they probably got it, or they know where you can find it. They literally have a wall just chock-full of N64's, NES's, Sega Genesis's, Atari Jaguars, etc. that are all just waiting to be bought. Not mint condition, but they're ready for a night on the town at least! I've found games there that GameStops or whatever larger retailer don't carry anymore because they're outdated or old. They're always priced reasonably. Sure, you might be able to find some of the games online for cheaper, or in better condition, but the collection is so expansive and the prices so reasonable that I kinda doubt it. In my experience, everything I've tried to find online that's a bit rarer tends to go for a pretty penny. But at Fud's, I found it for less than half the price. Old or new, they can likely point you to where it is. Selling games there is a pretty nice experience as well. Sure, they buy them pretty cheap, but I'd usually get a dollar or two more there than I'd get anywhere else. They do the whole store-credit thing, which is nice, but I've never used it. I just take the money and run, and they're fine with that. Just about the only negative thing I can say about them is that yes, some of the games have seen better days. Granted, they're not always in the best of states, but to this day anything I've bought there has worked just fine. If you're a stickler about having the same case that the game was released in, or having the mint condition copy, or having a very specific/regionalized version, this place isn't for you. They're local and small. Go online and spend the big bucks, you'll likely find a superior product, but for a much less superior price. This place is a bargain-bin thrift-shop sorta place. If you want to find a game, warts and all, and just be able to leave the store and play it at a decent price, this is your Nirvana. As an example, I once found a copy of Arkham Knight there, still in the plastic wrap, with the Harley DLC (not that I really care, just an extra cherry on the top) just this past year for $12! If that doesn't persuade you, I fear your time reading this review might have been wasted.

I asked about selling various games and consoles, and not only did the customer service suck they also tried to tell me that my games are worth less than they are. A quick search online proved that they were worth 60-100 dollars more than they offered. After an attempt to haggle prices at least a little up (but still selling them cheap, or half-price) I was instead turned away. They just wasted my time. I have other gripes about their system of cash vs. in-store-credit, as I know other second-hand video game stores have easier ways of handling that system, and I was told I had to pick one or the other, I could not do partial credit. Overall I know that I have had better experiences here when I try to buy games or consoles, but trying to sell to them has quickly shifted my opinion on the store.

The indoor area has certainly gotten some upgrades - great for the all-year-round crew, for sure. The most confusing thing about the arcade is that it uses a credit system that varies largely from game to game on what it's going to cost you and what it's likely to pay out. I'm sure this is the whole point of them taking your money -- the house always wins -- but I'd prefer to know how much one credit really cost me and how much a game really is. Not that the kids care when they've got their card though. Hoping next summer some repairs are finished and we'll have a better time.

Given that half of the go-kart attractions were now unavailable, I approached the sales desk and spoke to a young manager named Keira. I asked if we could receive a rain check to come back on a better day. She pointed to a notice on the wall and informed me, "It's our policy. The fine print states that we do not offer rain checks or refunds due to weather." I expressed my disappointment, as I feel it's unrealistic and unscrupulous to expect most customers to read fine print on the wall before purchasing tickets. In my opinion, businesses like this should consider more customer-friendly policies, especially when a significant portion of their attractions are uncovered and entirely dependent on the weather. While others may have their own opinions, I personally won't support a business that lacks flexible policies for paying customers when their offerings are so easily affected by conditions beyond anyone's control.

And at 50 cents a play, you can't beat that! We played a few games and had a blast. They also have a selection of DVDs and games for various consoles to shop through, as well as some pop culture toys. It's a great store that I wish was closer to my home so I could frequent it more often. The staff are kind and helpful and it's obvious that they have a lot of regulars which means they should be around for a long, long time. We'll be back next time we're in Cincy!

The owner Jesse and his son have always been super nice and respectful on things, I've gotten many of comics/action figures and of course games from there for great prices and good quality, really affordable place too if you're looking for somewhere local to have some fun with friends and family. Highly recommend!
