I cannot recommend this place enough! I made a reservation here for 12 people for my husband's surprise birthday celebration and it exceeded all expectations! We were given 2 tables and our server Jesse was great from start to finish! The drinks and food were all great everyone loved their food and the ambiance was great as well despite the rain and humidity the patio felt cool! Some standout food items were the big ass pretzel, the cheese dipping sauce was a big hit , stuffed avocados, and French dip sandwich! However , you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu everything I tried was delicious. The brewery was also very accommodating with our cake that needed refrigeration. Overall , I definitely recommend this place for large parties or just a family outing. It feels like a pretty classic American pub/bar with pretty normal menu selections and couple of fusion items. I was still pretty full from the lunch so I orders something. I wouldn't feel too bad if I had yo be wasteful lol so I went with the pretzel which was wayyyy larger than I expected. I actually really liked the beer cheese dip with it. One of not too many places that actually have a good quality one with well balanced flavor that actually compliments the bread. Ayra took care of my family (including two little ones) and the experience was great this week! It was a gorgeous evening for dinner and drinks on the patio and our kids were able to run around the open lawn that felt safe and explored. The food menu seemed a bit shorter in options this time around as it sounded like the seasonal items may be getting updated. I was the most impressed by the sautéed veggies we asked for on the side as there aren't many vegetable options on the menu itself. Our server, Collin was so very friendly, funny and kind. His customer service skills were amazing. Since it was our first visit he explained every section of the menu in great detail. Since they brew their own beer Collin highlighted Bankhead's various types and flavors of beers. He had a lot of knowledge about the Company's beers and menu overall. We were very impressed. The food was good. I didn't get any sauce on my wings and noticed a touch of sweetness in the wings. Overall they were good. The pizza tasted very good as well. The brewery is a really nice spot in downtown Rowlett with a lot of seating inside and outside with great brewery ambiance. The service was great with beer recommendations. We had the fried pickles to start which were nice and crunchy and paired well with ranch and sriracha aioli. We also ordered the wagyu burger which was also very good with the smoky bacon and substituted mayo and mustard instead of the standard Russian sauce that it comes with. We also had the harvest salad with chicken which is a great lighter option with tons of flavor in the vinaigrette. Overall a great place to check out if you're in the area. read more

We just recently tried Bankhead brewing in Fort Worth and were shocked to find out. They had one in Rowlett so we had to give it a try. They were really crowded on an early Friday afternoon thankfully we were able to get a spot at the bar. The offerings seem to be similar to the Fort Worth location, and the food was also as well . Staff was very friendly and made some good recommendations . We tried the steak pizza and it was amazing. We also had the Texas Twinkies before the pizza so we had half a pizza to take home.!! Dinner with friends started out with a nice cold beer. I had just come from a long meeting so the Adios Bitchachos seemed exceptionally appropriate and it was perfect! I had the Brussels sprouts from the shared plate menu and it's a large portion for sharing so it's the perfect size for dinner for one. My boyfriend and I shared half street taco/ half the god father pizza. It did not disappoint. The woodfire cooked pizza had so much flavor! Street tacos slices were really unique, while the god father slices had a more classic pizza taste. We couldn't decide which one we liked better! Really liked the country music that they played. Bankhead Brewing has a cool, deep ellumish vibe for those who are a couple of decades past spending their weekends in Deep Ellum. We started with a beer flight, obviously. Beers and cocktails were good! Enjoyed the BLTA dip and the Texas twinkiesgor appetizers. Brandi mentioned the Twinkies were spicy but as native Texans we had no fear. Normally love this place and it's one of our go-tos. Last time we went, I had the stuffed avocados for part of my meal and on the menu, it lists "brisket" in the stuffing. I found two pieces of hard meat that I couldn't tell whether it was beef or not. The stuffing was runny and it was hard to tell what anything was. Not the best thing on the menu. Regardless if you're in the Rowlett area or miles away, Bankhead Brewing is a MUST try. This was only our second visit but we're already planning our next visit. BB's menu is something you'd find in a trendy Vegas restaurant. This place is certainly a hidden gem. I'm not much of a beer drinker but I'm sure there's something for everyone. Let's move on to their pretzel appetizer. This is how I would imagine pretzels in heaven, welcoming and pillowey. The salad portions are enough for two good sized portions to share with. Make sure you bring your appetite as the entree portions are good sized. The hubs ended up taking home half of his brisket grilled cheese that he absolutely loved. Let's first focus on the french toast because it's important. It's a captain crunch french toast, and the moment the server placed it on the table... ya girl could smell the captain crunch and basically re-lived her childhood memories. I lived for a bowl of captain crunch. Now I don't discriminate between thick or thin french toast, I actually make skinny bread french toast at home, BUT I WANT THE THICK KIND AT RESTAURANTS. Long story short get the french toast. Now the chicken fried chicken caught me by surprise. I wasn't expecting it to wow me like it did. I've had multiple experiences of unseasoned chicken, but this my friend was not one of those. Tl;dr: it seems a fine place to hang out or drink, but the food left something to be desired. Service was friendly but slow. My party of 4 went for a late lunch around 2pm on a Sunday. I had the French dip with truffle fries. The sandwich was salty, burnt, and greasy, and the fries had way too much truffle oil. Another member had the meatballs, and she loved them. Another member had the chicken Caesar salad, it was ok but lackluster. The fourth was a child and ate off our plates. Overall I don't recommend going here specifically for the food. I have been here more times than I can count. This is my favorite spot in the area for brunch for a number of reasons. Their food is great, and they offer a wide selection. The dip and the garlic flatbread it's served with is so good!!! The pickles are spears which is my favorite of the fried pickles. I wish it came with ranch as well as the sriracha aioli. Our server was stretched too thin and they were cold before we ever got the ranch. For dinner, we had the rigatoni, Cajun shrimp risotto, the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, the kids pepperoni pizza and the kids grilled cheese. Everyone enjoyed their food but the grilled cheese was a bit bland. It was a bad ratio of bread to cheese I think. The Nashville Chicken wasn't too spicy, so don't let the spice scare you off. After so many locals recommended BB, I finally stop by on a Tuesday at opening hour, hoping it would be slower. I think I was the 3rd customer, and was seated quickly. Seemed to be a new, yet enthusiastic waitstaff member. I have eaten Cubano sandwiches around DFW Metroplex, in my own continuous search for the legit Miami version. I found it at The Latin Pig in Plano, TX. Now, it is Bankhead's turn to top it. I have to reveal this was a big letdown, a dry, dry, Cubano made of leftovers, it seemed. Truffle Fries were oil-soaked, and just not flavorful. A Cubano sandwich gets savor from carmelized ham slice against juicy stewed seasoned pork, then provolone cheese against ballpark mustard, and juicy dill pickles. The pickle juice & mustard help the provolone flavor to release. Pepperoncini peppers on the side, Bamm! The BH Salad was much better, I got the small version. I would return for the larger version, and be happy. BEER: The long-winded "Longhorn Devil Went Down to Texas" Red Ale was decent. Next, the "Mile Marker 10 IPA" was not decent.
