First time staying at an Inn/AirBNB type place. At first, it felt strange to let ourselves into this big beautiful house and to be the only ones there. But the better half grew up going to Inns and Bed and Breakfast type places and she was all in. NICE. That is the main word I would use to sum up The Collins. Especially with how well they took care of us for our anniversary. Every little detail was thought out and taken care of. The lady who was working there while we were there could not have been better. Super nice and attentive. WE LOVED THE COLLINS. I have been going to Ocean Shores my entire life but always stayed on the main hotel strip. The Collins is on the backside of Ocean Shores and very secluded from the tourist-y parts of the town. The house is gorgeous. A huge house with so many different things in it to do right across the street from the beach. The Collins has that beautiful, awesome Ocean Shores beach aesthetic while also being a very upscale, beautiful inn. My favorite thing about The Collins [aside from the hot tub] is just how well thought out everything is. From the all day snacks and breakfast. To every little touch they add. The people who created and run The Collins are obviously big fans of this type of Inn and really worked hard to create their ultimate image of it. And you can feel that in every little detail of The Collins experience. We also liked the french toast, Starbucks egg bites and all of the things they give you for breakfast here. The pastries were my favorite but we liked everything. We were also incredibly impressed at our room fridge having some nice juice and snacky type options. The better half and I loved this experience. We had such a nice time here. The hot tub, the wine, the chocolates, the kick ass shower, the nice breakfast and snacks. If you're looking for a great experience with your special person, it's hard to think of a better option than The Collins. I've stayed in pretty much every hotel in Ocean Shores and The Collins is definitely at the top of the list if you want a nice, beautiful, relaxing, memorable experience for you and your special person.

Huge kitchen and comfy living room. Happy they had AC when it was warm! Pet friendly, toddler friendly - but no bath tub in the cabin. Thanks for the stay!

A much needed ocean therapy was calling my name and I drove west. Ended up in Ocean Shores. I left my town due to how crazy busy it would be with parades and a carnival, not knowing what's in store here. A pleasant surprise to see the streets lined with families. Anyway, got to shop, enjoy the festivities, and more importantly spend time walking the beach. Gorgeous day! Took a chance, walked in, asked if there were any vacancies, and they had the one. It was a king bedroom with a partial view... and I took it. It was an extremely spacious room, designed for wheelchair access. Even the shower had a ramp (pretty cool). Either way, the place was busy and packed like smoked clams in a tin can! The pool below me was busy as all get out, and people were coming and going... like me. Off for some shopping, parade activities, some local food and drinks, but more importantly... the Beach! Was able to sneak out and catch a beautiful sunset, as well. Gorgeous! There were some issues with the the faucets turning in the opposite direction for water temperature at the sinks, and it would be pretty nice if the Body Soap and Shampoo dispensers were labeled. They both looked identical... so who knows what I ended up using but at least it was clean! Other than that, some noisy tenants above me but whatever... hotel can't control kids jumping up and down and off the beds. At the end of a day, was able to chill after some much needed ocean therapy. All in all, a good experience for something so last minute. Thank you and as always, Enjoy & Happy Ocean Therapy!

We live in Las Vegas and we were visiting Aberdeen for a funeral. This is the town my husband grew up in and he hadn't been back in over 20 years. We could not find Hotels in the area, only motels. I was pleasantly surprised to have found this B&B and quickly booked the Canterbury room. It was clean, cozy and spacious. The bathroom was large and it had a lot of counter space for makeup and toiletries. The Aberdeen weather in March is pretty cold, but it was nice to return to a nice cozy and warm room in the evenings after spending the day with family. Breakfast was amazing! Billy, Cindy's son, is a great cook and very hospitable just like her. I returned to Las Vegas and missed eating my breakfasts overlooking the harbor and the beautiful Broadway Hill neighborhood. We also enjoyed great conversations a couple of days with a Doctor whom we met there. It was a great visit/vacation to my husband's hometown. Thank you Cindy and Billy for your hospitality! I highly recommend A Harbor View Inn.

This place is pure magic. The magic is not produced by a wand, but by people--good people. Okay,…read moreand ponies and puppies. But mostly by people. There was some brief confusion when I booked the reservation. I had not realized it was a "horse hotel" with multiple stalls and also campsites as well as rooms. My disappointment was replaced by pure joy upon learning that humans can stay here too, as well as hybridized beings like myself (a centaur)! Everything here is done the old fashioned way, the right way: with kindness, trust, love and simplicity. Staying here will make your heart ache for a simpler time when folks were able to conduct business with a handshake, where their first priority was just treating each other how they want to be treated themselves, with dignity and decency. We came here almost my accident. I'll be honest. Ocean Acres was not in my first, second--or even top five--picks of places to go. We were aiming at much further up the coast. I could find almost nothing and what I could find was neither affordable nor desirable. We did not want to go to some sterile resort where you exist to be milked and sent on your way. We wanted to be in a place that was family-owned and served a purpose beyond just making money as efficiently as possible. We wanted to be somewhere that had actual personality, not just a hollow façade with a minimal, lazy attempt to lure visitors and nothing else. Ocean Acres Horse Hotel was--is--the jackpot on all accounts. Because of a recent death of a family member after a prolonged illness, it was important to be in a place with healing energy. I had a good feeling the moment I navigated my way to Ocean Acres' minimalist website and saw they have no automated process for automated or online bookings. Everything is done personally, over the phone. The owner, Carol did not even ask for my last name, the make of my vehicle or a credit card to reserve the room. She asked us to pay in cash when we arrived. When we did arrive, the first thing I did was try to pay, but she insisted we wait until morning to do so! She wanted us to be able to settle in, relax, and get a good night's sleep first. WHAT?! My thought was: who the hell are you and what time period do you hail from? Where is your time machine? Such a small gesture, but to be endowed with that level of trust by a stranger doing business with me...I cannot think of another time in my 46 years that that's happened. Again, you may think I am making too much of it, but being shown such trust and kindness so quickly had an immediate healing effect on us. It is impossible to discuss Ocean Acres without talking about Carol and her husband, the owners. I don't know how they do it. I could barely keep up with all the adventures they shared with us. Carol is a polymath of the first rank. Her amazing breakfasts held us in good stead the entire time we were there. We ate with the other guests--sometimes sharing a table--in their family dining room! Whilst cooking up innovative and astounding savory and sweet detectibles, Carol regaled us with stories about her life, her work, her relationship to horses, the wheeling and dealing required to get hay. We were also surrounded by her work--stunning oil portraits and bronze sculpture, for which she had rightly won awards. Carol and her husband knew we were hurting, and they pulled out all the stops to help us. They lent us their own, personal ebikes (which were so much fun to take on country roads, tooling around cranberry bogs, little ponds and abandoned farmsteads), Her cooking was phenomenal. She knew we loved animals but had none of our own, so she introduced us to their collie dog Price, with whom we quickly became BFF's in a neverending game of fetch, told us what foods her mini-pony (or was it a mini-donkey?) likes to be fed. And of course, there were other people and their beautiful steeds all around. Just being in the presence of so many happy critters and people had a very good effect on us; it was so needed. The property begins at the highway, off which a short, paved driveway leads to and terminates behind the main house, where the owners live and some of the rooms are. Then, a dirt road goes straight back (west) about a mile--all the way to the sea--passing by a beautiful barn, stalls, campsites, forest, meadows, a pond and other bucolic scenes on the way. Strolling the road on the property (and biking on it) was one of my favorite things to do there. If you ever pined for things (and people) with a personal touch, if you ever just wanted to drop out of the game and NOT be treated like a number, a walking phat money bag with a dollar sign over your head, if you miss interacting like a regular human with other regular humans, if you ever needed some puppy time but had no puppy of your own, if you ever wanted to feel safe, breathe in serenity like it floated in the ethers, if you ever just wanted a really damn good breakfast...Ocean Acres is THE place for you.

One of the worst experiences we've ever had, my family and I rented the Ocean City Champagne House…read morefor 4 days in July for mine and my son's birthday and ended up leaving 2 days early because we could not stay in the house any longer. I understood that the house was older and that it didn't have modern furnishings BUT I expected it to be clean. The whole house was filthy! It appeared that the house had not been maintained in about 20-30 years. The walls, ceiling, cabinets, counters; tables - basically every surface - were dirty, greasy and grimy. The carpets in every room were stained and gross. The bedding and towels smelled, looked and felt dirty - I had to wash everything with my own laundry soap just so we could sleep and use the towels without feeling gross. The windows did not any screens - we wanted to have the windows open to enjoy the sound of the ocean and to air out this musty house - without screens on the windows all kinds of insects got in. The windows and sills were very dirty; the sills were black with grime and dead insects. Electrical outlets didn't work. Lamps either did not work at all or had burned out light bulbs. Lights inside and out had burned out bulbs - we bought lights bulbs just so we could have some light. The beds were AWFUL - they were so old, uncomfortable and hard, my husband ended up sleeping on the couch. The kitchen hardly had any equipment to use, what little equipment they had was dirty, there were only 3 cereal bowls! The dining room chairs and table were falling apart and unsteady. Outside the steps to the deck were rickety and blackberry bushes were encroaching onto the deck and under the steps so we had to be careful not to get snagged. Plastic chairs out on the deck were broken and sharp. The BBQ was disgusting and gross. We really wanted to "stick it out" and make the house work but we just couldn't bear it. We contacted management to voice our complaints - they've said they would like to make it right but so far nothing has come of that. This house is definitely not worth $350 per night; DO NOT waste your time and money on this place!!

Theres a couple restaurants, bakery, shops, and market in town for your convenience. You can even rent bikes, go down to the beach, or go on a walk on the trail. There offer many homes to rent out as well! Our house was had a beach theme and we couldn't be more happy. There were three rooms ( king, queen, and four bunk beds), hot tub, and fire pit! The house was fully furnished for every use. We loved having the option to cool or dine. I love how quiet the neighborhood was. No one bothered us... we bothered no one. It was GREAT. Only downfall was that we showed up to the house with bags of trash that seem to have been forgotten and raccoons got to it. But josh who was on night duty helped us clean it out. He was very nice. Check in and checking out was easy. We didn't have to talk or see no one because a code to the door was provided. Instructions for the home was sent couple days prior to arrival. As much as I love this place I wouldn't be able to stay here as often as we'd like due to the fact that it's very expensive to stay here. So this is a treat if we ever get to do this again. I recommend trying this place out if you haven't already. Even if you just come down for a day trip. It is on the way towards ocean shore so if you can't find anything to do in town you can always head down that way.

We've visited Seabrook six times over the years, but unfortunately this will be our last…read more The main reason we booked this trip was because my daughter's only request was a rental with a hot tub. I specifically used Seabrook's website filters to search for homes that were available on our dates and included a hot tub. When we checked in today, we were surprised to find there wasn't one. I immediately called Guest Services, expecting they would help resolve what appeared to be a booking or website error. Instead, I was essentially blamed for the mistake. I explained exactly how I had searched for the property, but the representative, who identified himself as Tylor, said that without proof there was nothing he could do. I work in marketing and sales, so I understand that websites and booking systems can occasionally have errors. What disappointed me most wasn't the mistake--it was the complete lack of effort to make it right. When guests are paying premium prices, customer service should focus on finding a solution, not assigning blame. To make matters worse, Tylor told me there were no other homes available with hot tubs, so moving us wasn't an option. Out of curiosity, I checked Seabrook's website myself while on the phone and found several available homes that listed hot tubs. Whether that was another website error or inaccurate information from Guest Services, I don't know. Either way, it only added to the frustration. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was told that Tylor was the supervisor. We've always enjoyed Seabrook, but this experience completely changed our perception. Mistakes happen. Great customer service is measured by how a company responds when they do. Unfortunately, Seabrook failed us on both the booking experience and the customer service, and they've lost our family's business.
