Full disclosure ive never bought plants from Palm Garden and never will. My experience was with the Owners themselves. I have no idea who ya'll were after Hurricane Ida destroyed New Orleans and the Owners called me panicking saying their apartment rental buildings in Harahan needed a tarp. Keep in mind most workers and construction workers were still not even back in town yet working. But my company Green country Rooftops was. My wife and I rode the storm out in Metairie and i immediately started working again with limited resources and power still not restored yet. My phone was ringing off the hook with friends, family, & former clients all reaching out for emergency tarp services. Despite the immense demand, I actually had sympathy for the Owners and they sounded desperate and in need. Not to mention the fact they probably had numerous tentants at the mercy of keeping rain from destroying their contents. With that being said, I moved them to top off list and immediately bought tarp materials and personally drove myself and my crew to the job. We installed one full building tarp and the other building tarp we installaed a partial. I charged bare minimum for labor not even $500 and provided them my material receipts. After the work was complete, I had to track these people down like dogs to get payment. They came up with one excuse after the other. One such excuse was they were waiting for approval and they havent heard back from their insurance. The ONLY reason they paid is because i had to go public and damage their character and call them out. Stupid me for actually thinking i would help these people and actually be a hero and gain a new client. The fact of the matter is that they already had a "regular" roofer but guess what.... he couldnt get to them because he was too busy !!!! So much for Loyalty !!!! He ditched ya'll and fortunate for me i came to rescue because it seemed like the right thing to do. The only thing we cant control in this world is reciprocity and you guys sure didnt have any. Finally got payment but took FOREVER totally not worth my time or my company's time. Good luck this storm season wish you guys the best no hard feelings. The only reason you responded back to me is because I called ya'll out for not paying on a review for your business. Otherwise you guys had zero intention of paying me.

This building it was situated in is a historic bank and event space from what I was told. If you look at the architecture around while shopping you see the history and can appreciate it even more. What a nice treat it was to visit We Bite! I came for a plant workshop that centered learning about…read moredifferent carnivorous plants. Carlos, the owner was so welcoming to my sibling and I. He walked us around the shop and answered all of our questions about the best pots/plant pairing for our the small bog gardens we were going to create. I forgot to get his colleagues names but they led us through a step by step workshop for adding and packing soil into our pots, drainage systems and tubes and what works best for particular pots and allowed time and space for us each to arrange our gardens. I personally made one for my Mother who I will be able to share with her on Mother's day. This was the perfect outing because it was short and sweet and who doesn't love basking in the presence of all the plants! I loved walking around the shop and admiring the variety if plants and I give the shop and thumbs up for honoring covid-19 protocols and having customers mask up during the entire workshop. They even went above and beyond to give each small group their own table and work space! Looking forward to more workshops this Spring and Summer. They also have a cool "sale" section with an assorted of plants which was neat to poke around in. I'll definitely be back.

The most interesting plant I've seen was the epipremnum pinnatum albo, which was about $120 for many leaves/nodes. Really well priced but only moderately variegated. The aroids were appropriately priced, and although there weren't many hoyas, the ones there were uncommon enough to be a good source to buy from. I found their supplementary supplies a bit expensive though, but if I was local I would believe that they would have some killer restocks and new species (especially the aroids).

Absolutely worth the drive out. Lots of great fresh and saltwater selection. I got a beautiful sea urchin and two awesome little decorator crabs for my saltwater fish tanks, who are all in good, healthy condition. Lots of other really cool sea creatures I am excited to go back and get and look at! Not to mention everything is very reasonably priced. Teddy greeted us right away when we walked in and was very polite, kind, and enthusiastic! Altogether a great experience, and looking forward to returning.
