Two really big greenhouses packed with cacti, succulents, epiphytes, desert roses...!!! Then entire area behind for other herbs and plants. Less on mesembs type stoneplants, or adromischus. The woman who works there is really nice! even though she is probably really busy. She told me where to find different types of plants, even walking me over to the section. She's very good at taking the time to answer questions about pricing and etc. If you're into succulents and cacti definitely a place to check out! read more

I have been here twice since October 2018, and both times were just INCREDIBLE experiences. Now, if you want something other than cactus & succulents, you might want to go elsewhere, as this is the majority of what they have....in fact, all of what they have is cactus & succulents....maybe a stray in the back, behind the greenhouses, but let's be real. If you're at Sunrise Trading, you're there for succulents & cactus! Now, the greenhouses are so huge, it's overwhelming!! Like, REALLY OVERWHELMING! The first one is all stuff for sale, typically the second greenhouse is his personal, or what he is propagating to sell in the future. His personal collection is just SO EXCITING! To be in that greenhouse and see some of the rare plants he has is just exhilerating, and a beautiful experience! Keep in mind, Sunrise trading is mostly for wholesale buyers, so prices are still really decent, and he will sell to individuals, but but he wants to sell large quantities. Steve is the owner, and is very accomidating. The second time I went was on a Sunday, when they weren't supposed to be opened, but since I called ahead of time he said as long as you come by 11 I'll be here, and we made it! read more

If you really are fascinated by succulents and cacti, a visit here is well worth your time. The store is out near the N. O. Airport. Rows upon rows of plants from pups to full-grown bushes/trees. The owner has been in business for 50 years and is willing to answer all your questions. I highly recommend this business. read more

Such a hidden gem!! The two greenhouses + outside area is HUGE. They have herbs, flowers, plants and most important cacti and succulents. I got three plants there for a total of $24. The owner is also very kind and I'm happy to support his business! Since I believe this is a wholesale establishment they don't sell any pots for your plants so keep that in mind. read more

I'm very new to the world of plants, but I just love the way succulents look and how easy they are to take care of. I went here not knowing anything, but the lady who was working in the greenhouse was very helpful. She gave me a tray to add as many plants as I wanted throughout the two large greenhouses. There were also plenty of outside plants available. I went to just look around, and I ended up leaving with 5 succulent plants. I wish I would have bought more, but I definitely plan on going back once I know more about the plants and get more pots for them. read more

This is far and away the best place to buy plants in NOLA, and the best greenhouse I've ever been to. They are wholesalers and kind of my personal shangri-la. Harry's on Press St. recommended them to me, and even they buy from Sunrise. They have two massive greenhouses and all kinds of stuff on the grounds surrounding. Prices are incredible and selection is the bomb. I positively filled my house with amazing succulents etc for less than $50, and the owner is a really nice guy. Only setback is that they close at 3:30. Stop by when you're near the airport, it's right on the river. read more

I have been to this nursery many many times and always enjoy walking through the large variety of plant material that they have to offer. You will find a huge variety of succulents and cactus that are not available in other locations. Service is always excellent, just know that you have to be a grower or landscaper to buy here. I do believe if you call ahead and speak to them, you will be able to purchase plants without a license. I love this place and always have cash in hand. read more

I love this nursery. i go primarily for their large array of succulents but they also carry bedding plants and herbs. They are retail and wholesale and many local nurseries buy from them. So its not fancy, but amazing plants and you may have to look for sales support. Absolutely worth the trip out to the airport. read more
