I'm a bit split on how to rate this restaurant since I didn't really ate much while I was there. The food I did eat was alright, didn't blew me away or anything but I did only have fries, some bread with burrata. I will say that this place is loud. I don't know if it's because it's open layout or just the crowd that was there that night but it was a bit hard to have a conversation across the table from each other. I will say that the cocktails they have were pretty delicious. I had cocktail #7 which is a really good expresso martini and a blue apple foam cocktail that I forgot which number it is. The interior design of the place is also very beautiful and modern. I feel like I would come back for a first date but probably not to hang out with close friends or eat. read more

If you are tired of Austin's bbq, texmex, tacos, and sushi offerings, this is something different. The place is a bit upscale but has a strange vibe to it with the dim lights and interesting music. Service was quick and friendly. Our waiter informed us most of the staff and the owners are from Belarus and the menu (including cocktail menu) come from Belarus. We started with the pumpkin and goat cheese appetizer (good, not sure if it was pumpkin or another squash, though). For mains, we had the grain bowl with chicken (good, be sure to stir it so the sauces mix) and the ribeye and mushroom rice bowl (very good). We finished with pavlova and sorbet (very different, but good and a nice finish). We'd visit again to try a few more things from the menu. read more

Went here for dinner last night and it was SO GOOD! First meal on a trip to Austin & it didn't disappoint. Not only were the cocktails beyond amazing, but the service, ambiance, and FOOD were incredible too. We loved everything we ordered. To start, we had the oysters (one was the biggest I've ever seen), beef tartare with mushroom mousse, raw salmon and mango, and roasted eggplant and yogurt (such an insanely good smokey flavor). For entrees my friends had a poke bowl, chicken quinoa bowl, and I had the mussels in this amazing buttery cream sauce... SO good! Forgot to take photos of the food other than the oyster as I was too busy stuffing my face, but 10/10 recommend this place! Im on my last day in Austin for a work trip and we decided to come here and it was the best decision we made all weekend. Valeria was our server and was exceptional. Both times, there were other people who seemed to be enjoying themselves so not sure if there was an issue with just the person serving my table. We've been here twice for the happy hour, which is a pretty darn good deal. Although it's been quiet every time we've really enjoyed it and I hope this restaurant does well because it's a gem that deserves to survive! Although the cocktails we try are always on the sweet side, they are super enjoyable and the food has never disappointed. Service is always friendly and the ambience is great with good music always playing and a clean modern decor. The wait staff are nice and lovely people, but definitely cut from a different cloth so be patient and understanding and you'll have a fantastic experience, but understand this place is a bit more laid back and it wants to be professional but it's hard to be perfect and at least for the happy hour prices it is super duper worth it. I really wanted this place to be a winner. The location is great, and I spent many an afternoon/ evening at one of the prior restaurants in this location, Sala and Betty. I was hoping Rosé Gosé would be the new dealio. The drinks are attractive, but not amazing enough to over power the experience as a whole. Everyone is very nice, but the menu items left me disappointed. The tuna tostada was heavily loaded with cream atop a basic store bought Mission tostada, which was on top of hat tested like overly acidic guacamole. The mussels were tasty, but half of them weren't opened, the ribs were fine, but it's Texas, so you can find better at the local H‑E‑B bbq takeout, and the burger was tasty but extremely wet. The bread was drenched in oil by the time it arrived. One thing that was concerning was that I ordered a glass of white, and received it hot. When I asked for a chilled glass I was told that they did not have one. They got me a different kind, but it would have been second nature in my mind to mention this before bringing a hot glass of Pinot Grigio to the table. There's just something off. I've been twice, and don't foresee a third round unless I hear about positive changes. read more

The appetizers are amazing, you have to get the straciatella with roasted pepper and prosciutto. The dinner entrées are too hard to decide between. I'm hopeful about Rose Gose, but I agree with some of the other reviewers that it was an "odd" experience. Arriving at the restaurant, we were taken to our seat (but I learned later that maybe we should have been told about their wine shop to the left and we could have selected a bottle to bring to our table?). As we arrived at our table, we were disappointed to encounter 2 of the 4 seats as very low seats. All of the seats against the wall, and so for all of the 4-person tables, were these backwards reclining, extremely low, cushioned seats. These look like outdoor seating reclining chairs, and are not at all suitable for seating in a restaurant. They seem to understand there is an issue because they brought cushions with them to give us, but they barely boosted us and the backwards leaning seats were still there. This unfortunate seating situation is such that I would not go there again if I knew I might sit inside. My hope is that they are working to replace all of those chairs. If so, my recommendation is that they tell everyone as they arrive to the restaurant that they are in the process of getting better chairs. The extensive cocktail list was good, and pretty tasty. The physical drink menu and food menus themselves were laminated and colorful in a way that you might expect at a lower end diner, and so I would recommend that be changed. The food was a mixed bag - some items were excellent, like the croquettes or the poke bowl. The pork ribs featured very tough meat, which is a big error in Austin or anywhere in Texas for that matter. They raved about their merengue dessert and so we did get it, but found it very uninteresting. All in all, it was an odd collection of food on the menu, especially because in reading a profile of the restaurant their goal was to introduce European food to us. The service was pretty lackluster - there was a cultural disconnect missing, mainly in how the servers would communicate. They wouldn't clearly acknowledge our requests sometimes, and they did not always check on us with an appropriate interval. They also would often have to go off and ask the managers about a given item. It seemed as if they had not waited tables before, and I found myself giving a tip that was less than I normally would give, which is pretty rare. After reading the story in the Austin Chronicle about the owners, I am SO hopeful for their success here... I am glad they are connected to other restaurant owners here and I hope some of my comments here will help them to further refine their concept. Also-- they should respond to reviews on here and give us their perspective on our comments. That would be great to let us all know how they are progressing. read more

So I had just heard about this place and how cute it was. They have some really cute unique cocktails. Didn't order any just because it's national rosé day so we decided to get a bottle of rosé. They have a great wine selection. It's really cool you go up to where all the wines are displayed and then you pick a bottle that you want. The wine is very well priced. It is pretty cheap in my opinion. The people that work there were very nice. They said that most of them are from Ukraine because we noticed their accent right away. They were very attentive and making sure we liked what we ordered and helping when choosing the wine. Definitely coming back to try dinner because there's stuff on that menu that looks delicious as well. They only had breakfast when we went which I have to say it is a limited menu, but OMG it is delicious food. I had never had eggs Benedict with beef tartare, and it was delicious. Everything else that my friends ordered looked great and tasted divine as well. This is definitely a cute little spot to go with friends, or a date, or bring family. This review is solely based on service. I cannot speak to the quality of food or drinks because we were never served. When I made reservations for 4, we had high hopes for this new place, however, knowing that this is a new establishment we were prepared to give their service some slack as it takes some time to get things up to speed. Upon being seated it took a good 20 mins until our waitress even bothered to greet us and take our drink orders. After that one encounter our waitress was never to be seen again. After a total of 45 minutes of waiting with no drinks in front of us we left disappointed knowing that this won't get any better. Multiple other tables were in the same boat. The staff was so welcoming and kind, very European vibes! The lemonades are a must try, especially the aloe, bergamot & passion fruit one. The kimchi olives were the perfect mix of salty & spicy, the salmon tostada did not disappoint in taste or portion, & of course you can't go wrong with burrata especially when they give you tomatoes and avocado with it. One of my favorite things ever is trying out new places, but it's even better when I find a gem. Came across Rose Gose in IG and the aesthetics looked totally my style and I was intrigued to find out what they are all about since they don't even have a website yet. The owner is the sweetest and she came over to talk to us and ask for our opinion on our food our drinks. Our server was so attentive and explained their concept which is very European and pretty awesome if you ask me. They have a wall of wine bottles with a very low markup. You can just pick out whichever bottle you want and they will open it for you. They also sell wine by the glass. This time around I did not partake in any wine business because their cocktail menu looked so exciting. I had a #4 and a #5. My friend had a #3 and a #6. Both my drinks were amazing and you could see the high level to detail that they have put into their menu. I was very impressed by the skills of the bartender. It looked like he really knew what he was doing and those drinks are proof. We ordered the smoked salmon rillettes, beef tartare with caviar, jamon grissini and the shrimp and calamari. Everything was delicious and light. It was the perfect spot to meet up with friends after work and I think it could very well be a great date spot as well. They have ample parking and it's a cool place to visit without having to get into downtown especially during SXSW. If you're looking for good bites and drinks, look no further. read more
