I don't normally leave reviews for takeout experiences only but this one was absolutely insane. I was leaving the nearby cinema, and I went ahead and placed an order for immediate takeout. It was planned for eight minutes. I received my order in eight minutes. The staff were super inviting. I was asked what the name on the order was and then asked if I wanted a cup for water while the chef finished up. The manager was super accommodating when it came to extra sauces and plasticware. The waitresses had a great, uplifting vibe to them despite the restaurant being quite slow. The 1/4lb breast was delicious. Absolutely delightful! The star of the show was the skewer, though. I got it in hot and I cannot even begin to explain how beautiful the flavors are...an explosion in my mouth. I cannot wait to go back. I've loved Nandos since I first visited their London, UK locations years ago during my university days. I was thrilled to see this popular fast casual chain come to major US cities and now Austin! This location lives up to the standard and quality of food that I remember. The space is colorful, bright and lovely. Good service as well. Succulent flame grilled chicken is what Nandos is known for. They offer handhelds as well as different cuts of chicken paired with delicious sides and fantastic sauces. I ordered the chicken skewers with one side (mashed potatoes). The chicken was cooked to perfection, and so flavorful when paired with the wild herb sauce! The mashed potatoes were so tasty and a fabulous accompaniment. I indulged in their happy hour deal with a glass of chilled white wine for $6, which is served with a complimentary plate of olives. Honestly almost 5 stars for our experiences. We got in late around 9:15pm and got seated right away. They didnt let us sit out side because they were trying to close. I got the peri bowl the healthy version, with pickled cauliflower, hummus, avocadoes and chicken. It was super fresh, colorful and honestly made Sweetgreen run for their money. I'd take this anyday. Their peri fries are to die for... 100% would recommend. Partner got a chicken plate and it was a lot of food for him with a side of corn and coleslaw. Love the interior, cozy and beautiful. Its rare to see a chain restaurant with nice interior and attention to details. Also a plus cause they just opened and the chairs and tables are very clean. Got pasta de nata for desserts to cap things off. The only con we experience was the dining experience felt a bit rushed since they were about to close. The chicken was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly charred, and I love that you can choose your own spice level (the hot has a nice kick without being overwhelming). The peri-peri fries and sweet potatoes were solid sides, too. Casual vibe, colorful space, and pretty quick and friendly. I had only been to Nandos in the UK prior to my visit to this location. This was an overall solid experience however I think the service could have been better and it was confusing how to order as using the QR code was having some issues. One of the items I ordered came out wrong so we did need to have that fixed which they did right away, but the rest of the food was fine. My order came out later than the rest of my group's -- our server told me that my side of garlic bread had fallen on the ground in the kitchen (??) and needed to be remade, hence the delay. Peri-Peri 1/4 Chicken (Leg) w/ Garlic Bread, Peri Fries - $13.19 (4/5) - I added on a side of PERInaise (mayo) for an additional $1.00 - there are other complimentary sauces you can grab for yourself but after trying those, I still preferred the PERInaise. - Chicken leg was nice and tender, and fries were seasoned well - For the garlic bread, the name is kinda misleading - I'd say it more accurately resembles the Texas Toast at Cane's vs. actual garlic bread Overall, thought the 1/4 Chicken combo was a good deal with decent portion sizes and solid flavor. Changing my review because the first time I went was lackluster in terms of service and difficulty ordering with the mishaps. Returning here again has proven that they fixed all of the problems they had before. Still delicious food, ordering system actually has all the items this time, and the service is miles better than during its inception. When asking about the mango lime flavor, they actually informed us properly that it is not shelf stable so they don't have that sauce out for table use. The manager went around checking on everyone and we felt like the difference in the general feel of the restaurant improved. It's casual but not in a way where you expect zero service anymore. The food though was kind of a let down, especially seeing how hyped Nando's has been on the internet, I was excited to try at an actual restaurant of theirs. The wait was also pretty long. The garlic bread reminded me of any garlic toast you buy from the freezer section to be honest (taste wise, shape wise was fun). The rice was good, standard. The actual flavor of the chicken itself was smoky tangy and it was definitely saucy, was it xtra hot? Absolutely not. I even grabbed several xtra xtra hot bottle from the side to double/triple check and that thing had no spice to it whatsoever. I promise it has the spice level of sweet bbq sauce. If you want to try it for the sake of going, go for it. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend coming here over other spots in Austin. Chicken skewer & mashed potatoes, although delicious, were strangely only lukewarm but by now we just wanted to eat & converse. Opted for a table outdoors available immediately as opposed to waiting over an hour for indoor seating. It wasn't too cold thanks to our table being close to the heat lamp. Self-serve station for cutlery, sauces & water was clean and well stocked. However, some fool (presumably from an above hotel balcony) decided to toss small chips of ice down at us patio diners - two separate times. The ice seemed to be aimed at our table and the one next to us. It kind of stung but I was more concerned with bits ending up in our food and drinks. Gross. Health violation, much? SO delicious! The staff are helpful, and I like the QR code/phone based ordering so no lines. We didn't have a res and came on a random weeknight; it was pretty full but we got a table no problem. Be aware the parking is subject to what's available in Mueller so if you street or lot park, it costs money unless it's Sunday. The bathrooms were clean, but I will say I think someone did something in both right before we came... that's all I'll say. Watch out for that sauce ;) but the food is great, absolutely rec a visit! I've had Nando's in the Middle East and this location is great! I love the two kinds of chicken grill we had. The lemon and the garlic sauce was great with the chicken. The fries had its own dip I used for everything lol. My friend ordered ahead for all of us so it was nice not to have to think and decide and I was healthily fed! I wasn't successful on refraining from eating the fries. Nice flavor to it! The servers were sweet, quite a busy place! The area was buzzing. I wasn't able to take much pictures as it was crowded. Inside, the vibes were lively, with a modern interior and a lovely patio, though the music was uncomfortably loud. Ordering was a hassle though. The kids' menu wasn't included in the QR code system, so I had to order it up front, and requesting two sauces (half-and-half) required another in-person order. The food itself was pretty good. The chicken was of excellent quality--juicy and flavorful--but the sauces were disappointing. Even the "Extra Extra Hot" lacked heat, and all the flavors heavily toward limey flavors, which were tasty but not as spicy or complex as I'd hoped. The sides were average at best; the fries were unremarkable and the mac and cheese was underwhelming, and the kiddos mac and cheese was the tiniest portion I've ever seen on a kids menu. Speaking of price, Nando's felt expensive for what it offered. I couldn't help but compare it to Peri Peri Republic at Lakeline Mall, which has bigger chicken, bolder sauces, and more reasonable prices. Nando's definitely wins on ambiance, but when it comes to flavor and value, I honestly prefer Peri Peri Republic. That said, I'm glad I finally got to try Nando's after all these years. I must say that I've never been to other Nando's outside the U.S. so I have no expectations. However, I had a great time at Nando's! My friends and I ordered the Family Platter, and it was enough to feed 4 girls. Just be aware that a large side isn't particularly large (you can look at the photo to see the serving size of a large). The food was delicious. The Hot level wasn't as spicy as I expected. It had a tingly sensation, but that was it. The peri-peri chicken had a strong lemon taste, and the grill taste to the chicken was delicious! You can grab sauces to try if you want different taste or spicy levels. The rice tasted like Spanish rice from a Tex Mex restaurant, and the garlic bread tasted like garlic bread, so nothing special. The French fries were seasoned, which was nice. It's a self-serve restaurant in that you order either through your phone or at the front counter. You also bring your own drinks and utensils. They do bring your food though. The interior was very pretty, and maybe because it's a new restaurant, but the line was long for a Tuesday.
