Really good Persian Kabobs in a casual setting. Order your kabobs with the white basmati rice over the yellow jasmine rice and get the Greek salad too! The salad shirazi had green onions in it, which isn't traditional so I would order the tabouli over that! Kabobs come out quick, fresh, and piping hot. Overall, really yummy! read more

Been her twice. First time was 5 stars (dine-in) second time was take out and 2 stars. Let's go over the dine in part first. It was a weeknight so the place was empty that evening. We opted to eat in and had a good experience. The food was great. I had gyro wrap while my wife had the chicken shawarma. It was delicious. The second time we opted to take out. We ordered over the phone. First there is a more expensive dinner portion that they rang us up for without confirming. This is partially on us to as we should have confirmed the price and I'd get over it if not for the second part. OK so we got the dinner plate which you'd think comes with a salad and some kind of sauce right? Instead we got protein, rice and humus. Lots and lots of humus. I'm not sure who puts together a plate like that. Gyros and rice is dry ... very dry. And you can try to add humus to it but it won't help. Now here's the thing. To be fair, what I had tasted well. It just wasn't put together well as a plate. For 16 bucks you expect a better plate. So my advice if you go here eat in or be damn sure you know what you're getting if you order over the phone. The food here was great! I came with a group that can tend to be picky but everyone enjoyed their food. The only complaint we have is that the rice served was cold. Be sure to ask them about their food before ordering as some items aren't on the menu and some items on the menu aren't available. It is also BYOB! Came here for lunch with family. It's conveniently located off Coit and Hedgcoxe. It has plenty of parking and is pretty easy to find. Interior is relatively spacious and mostly half booth half chair setups. Service/staff was friendly. There are 2 menus on the weekend. You have the breakfast menu from 830-12 and the regular menu from 12 onwards. If you go around 11/1130 they allow you to order from both menus. We ordered the following: Persian Haleem(on breakfast menu), beef kobeidah, chicken kobeidah, and cornish hen. Food was good. All the entrees came with your choice of basmati or jasmine rice plus a salad. Salad was refreshing and I thought the jasmine was better than the basmati. As far as the actual kabobs I thought the cornish hen was the best one. Very well spiced and tender. Beef kobeidah was also tender but they put too much salt. Chicken kobeidah was a bit bland. Persian haleem was interesting. It was like an oat porridge with hints of lamb but also cinnamon. They usually eat with sugar so we added that and it was quite nice. If I were to rank them I would say the top one is cornish hen followed by persian haleem, beef kobeidah, and chicken kobeidah. The tea was also solid (it was similar to turkish tea). Overall great experience. I will definitely come back here and try other dishes. read more

My husband was craving kababs tonight so he went and got food from Rose and brought it home. Hands down THE BEST koobideh, barg, and chicken I've had since moving to Texas 10 years ago. I can't say enough about the quality of their food. You can taste how fresh the meat is and very well marinated. The Barg is extremely tender and melts in your mouth, the chicken is very well marinated and tasty, and the koobideh doesn't have any fillers added to the ground beef. Take this from someone who NEVER chooses to eat Persian food at a restaurant since we can make it very well at home. I will definitely come back again and bring friends and family. What a nice place to have a meal and be reminded of how good Mediterranean food is . It's delicious in every bite ! I had the veggie plate with the hummus and babaganoush (eggplant- hummus) and the falafel was super flavorful and reminded of shrimp for some reason . The kids has nuggets and rice which was satisfying. My husband enjoyed his gyro lamb plate and my 10 year old son enjoyed his chicken shawarma even with the pickled vegetables. I saw that it was BYOB and that's a plus so I'll be returning soon with a bottle of good grape juice ! I'd love to try the baklava next time when we make room for desert . Ordered from here the other night, I had the Vegetarian Combo Platter and I have to say everything was really top-notch. Each dish was as tasty as I was hoping. It is a very nice selection of delicious items. The baklava was great as well. My only complaint is that they put hot food in Styrofoam which burnt as a result. Styrofoam is not a good hot-food container for this reason. It is also difficult to recycle. I hope they consider switching to something else. read more

Rose Mediterranean catered our wedding's reception -- and we loved it! They were communicative and flexible; even produced items that weren't on their normal menu. The chicken kabob was tender and juicy, and the eggplant ghormeh sabzi was SO flavorful. Well the consistency on not overcooking the chicken like requested has now faltered. My chicken was dry, overcooked and even partially burnt. It wasnt the most overcooked chicken I've had mind you, but it wasn't up to par and was quite dry, one piece was pretty burnt. The dressing on the Greek salad is pretty terrible. I don't know what they use in that, if they use cheap GMO oil and expired herbs or what, but it's gross. The dressing is so bitter and ruins it. You can't taste anything except the bitterness of the dressing, it covers up the taste of tomatoes, feta, everything, just bitter. Maybe too much lemon or vinegar? Idk. They were so consistent unlike other places, up until now. Tho I was never really a fan of the Greek salad dressing, and didn't order it the last time I left a review, I was reminded how bad it is.. but I don't remember the dressing being this bitter and blah. It's exceptionally bad today. The feta tastes old and dry too. I did not finish the salad, the dressing was just so overwhelmingly bitter. Dry overcooked chicken ruins everything for me. As does a lack of consistency. They may have a new chef who doesn't know how to not overcook the chicken Kababs, or just doesn't care, like so many other Mediterranean places. Maybe this issue will be fixed by the next time I order. If not then, I'll have to try another spot. The main reason I had chosen this as my Mediterranean food spot was because they followed directions consistently and cooked the chicken perfectly so it was still juicy. Message to the owner: since you have decided to mimic your competitors and charge ridiculous prices, at least deliver the same quality food as they do otherwise, you won't last very long. Had a weird experience at Rose Meditterranean. Went with 3 friends and ordered the chicken and ground round skewer combo with salad and rice. It was pretty tasty and about half of the chicken was moist but the rest was a little dry. Service was attentive. However, we were charged a 15% service charge, which the owner says in other Yelp reviews that it is standard restaurant industry protocol. NO, the 15% charge was not on the menu and the server did not tell us about the impending charge. How many restaurants do you go to that charge a 15% fee? If you have a large party of 8 people, perhaps, they may charge a 18 - 20% gratuity but not a service charge. But as the server was giving us the bill, they gave us a long, convoluted story about, "What would you do if you went to a restaurant and they charged you a fee and you didn't know about it?" Their story got longer and longer, but in essence, they were referring to the 15% service charge and one of us said, "Do you get part of the fee?" They said, "No!" So, they were asking for a tip above and beyond the 15%. According to a law firm's website, the restaurant doesn't have to give the staff any part of the 15% fee, so where is that money going? No way were we going to pay the 15% fee and a 18 - 20% tip over that. 35% going to the restaurant? We will not be returning. It put a "bad taste" in our mouths. read more

I've been coming here since they opened when it was actually quality food and friendly service, but now the quality has gone down and service isn't as friendly as it once was. I have waited an extra 20 Minutes past my pick up time since they were busy and couldn't keep up with lunch time orders. Also, they're prices have gone up and are way higher than other Mediterranean restaurants nearby (aka Fadis) and don't give as much food for take out. The soups are all too salty and lack flavor. The kabobs can sometimes be juicy and tender and other times they're hard a rock! My lamb shawarma sandwich was nothing less than heavenly. Just one filled me up, but I would have had many more if my stomach had allowed. Also got hummus to start, which was delicious. I maybe would have liked slightly fluffier pita bread, but that's personal preference. The server I had was great. Very attentive and eager to offer opinions on food. Owner came over to ask how the food was, as did the cook. The women who works there I'm assuming is the son's wife, I didn't catch her name but they are all very friendly and welcoming. I had the lamb shawarma plate with saffron rice, and hummus with complimentary pita bread. The tea was good, the wife makes it from her own blend of spices. The baklava was really tasty and I can tell they're not skimping on any ingredients, they used the right amount of butter. It was heaven. Then we had the lamb shawarma and gyro sandwiches. The lamb was savory like I mentioned, and the gyro was well spiced with a solid tzatziki sauce. Their pita was fresh out of the oven. Ordered a few desserts, all were pretty good. A bit disappointed that with three plates ordered, we received only two whole pitas, needed more. Their garlic sauce is great but just one small, half full container that wasn't nearly enough. Next time will order more of each. They were really friendly when we picked up. They're very close to my house, and offer several different delivery service options. We absolutely love the ground beef kebabs, grilled tomatoes, with hummus and salad!
