My first time here trying their food. By far this is the best lamb to have in Texas. Food was on point fresh. Service was good and welcoming. I dont care about the ambiance if the food is good . Go eat some quality food.

When we first walked into Hadramout Restaurant, the place was filled with smoke from the grill, which was overwhelming. We also noticed a lot of flies around, which was concerning. The waiter, however, was friendly and took the time to explain the menu to us, recommending a few dishes. We decided to try the Mandi lamb, Kabsa lamb, and Hanith lamb. When the food arrived, we were impressed with both the taste and the portion sizes--everything was delicious, but the portions were so large that none of us could finish our meals. However, I was disappointed by the cleanliness of the restaurant. For a party of six, they automatically added an 18% service charge, which is fair, but I hope they use that to improve the overall hygiene of the place. The cleanliness definitely needs more attention. If I crave this type of food again, I'll probably order it to-go instead of dining in.

Attentive and quick service for a busy restaurant! We came in on a Friday night and while it was packed, we were able to get seated right away. Our food was also out within 5-10 minutes of ordering. This restaurant is very affordable for the amount of food they give. Even as 3 hungry girls, we could've ordered 1 appetizer and 1 entree and been fine. We got the Mediterranean Plate to start, which was average. The only part I felt was skimpy was the accompanying bread--the 3 half pieces were not nearly enough for all the hummus and baba ghanoush. However, the extra spreads did make good pairings for the rice in the Kabasa Chicken and Mandi Chicken. I wish they came with yogurt sauce, but instead I used the hummus and salsa-type sauce they gave us at the beginning. The chicken was fall off the bone, but the breast meat was very dry despite the tenderness. Hadramout is a good beginner's dive into Yemeni and hits the spot for a craving, but definitely not the best you could try.

We've been coming here at least once or twice a month for the past two years. But today, we had a very bad experience -- the chicken was not cooked properly at all. This is not the quality we usually get with the Hanith chicken and Kabsa rice. We informed the server, but he said he couldn't do anything about it. Not recommended anymore

The Mandi at Hadramout is probably one of the best you'll find in DFW. I love how tender the chicken is, it's definitely a comfort food for me.

Great food, large portions, reasonable price. One meal and appetizer is enough for two. We shall be back soon. Grilled fish is a must try

This is by far the best restaurant in DFW. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. The mandi chicken will fall off the bone even if you just wiggle the plate. The fish is amazingly flavored and also is easy to remove from the bone. The dessert isn't too sweet but is by far some of the best dessert I've ever had. The service has always been amazing and the staff has always been so kind and friendly. I have been here about a handful of times and the restaurant continues to blow my mind and remain consistently amazing. I literally dream about this restaurant. There is not a better restaurant in DFW, and it is one of the only Yemeni restaurants around. I had never had Yemeni food prior to trying this restaurant, and what a great representation of it, it is. I recommend that EVERYONE tries this restaurant.

This was my first time trying Yemeni food and it was delicious. The food had lots of flavor and chicken was very tender. The chicken literally fell off the bones. Each entree comes with a lot of rice, so the rice to chicken proportion is a bit off in my opinion. We also ordered the Mediterranean plate appetizer, which was also good, but it only came with 3 pieces of bread. We ended up having to pay for extra bread. They also charge you for water which I wasn't expecting. Overall, very nice to have something new in Plano.

Delicious food and reasonable price I order grilled fish came perfect not burned and not row was so good and tasty

The management reached out they honored the Groupons and the food was amazing - we got the lamb hanith which was absolutely delicious and highly recommended.

great rice bowl/wrap place on campus…read more This restaurant is located in the Northside area of the campus. It's in a complex so there's a good amount of parking in front of the store. Inside, it has a couple of tables, and a window counter. Food wise, they have rice bowls, wraps, and a long counter of sides, sauces, and two types of rice. Service was friendly. We had the gyro over rice, falafel over rice, kofta over rice, falafel wrap, gyro wrap, gyro fries, mango cake, rose cake, samosas, chai, and mango lassi. First off the food was very delicious. The gyro was our favorite meat. It was moist, shredded thin, but not too thin. Kofta was also meaty and juicy. They break your kofta into pieces, so it's easier to eat. Falafel was also crunchy, and I liked that they make it smaller sized, so you can scoop up more falafel with the rice instead of having to cut it up yourself. Yellow rice was very flavorful, and I even enjoyed the lentil rice as well. I thought the lentil rice would be more dry, but it wasn't. I was a fan of all the sauces, they had seven different types. They have the heavier white and gyro sauce, but also tahini as a lighter option as well. All of the sides were a hit with the fam. Two things to note were that the mushrooms and sautéed onions had some spice in them, and the chickpeas could be a little softer. The sandwiches were both filling. Pita bread was soft and they both had a good amount of meat/falafel in them. One thing they do different is they add two of the sides in the sandwiches as well. Usually gyro places only add the chopped onion/tomato/lettuce, but at this place they let you choose which veggie/sides you want to include in the sandwich. The gyro fries are a great option when you want something heavy, but not a typical meat. There was a decent amount of gyro on it, and the fries had some slightly spicy powder on them too. They recently started including the chai and samosas, and it would make a good evening snack. As for the desserts, they were tasty as well. I prefer my baklava with a little more syrup, but I do have to admit it is a bigger size than most places. Between the cakes, I liked the mango cake more. The rose cake is good too, but I felt it had more cream compared to the actual cake. The mango cake has a lot of cream in it as well, but the pulp balances it out. Overall, we really liked the food, and will definitely stop by again!

Afrah is THE place to be for Mediterranean food - before Greenville Ave became Arab central, before there was anyone, there was Afrah. A beautiful, airy restaurant with gorgeous seating, a bustling dessert case, ice cream center and so many treats to offer under one roof. Afrah is to the Muslim community in Richardson as a glove is to a hand. It truly is a one stop shop for all your nostalgic cravings, and it would be a grave injustice on my part if I didn't stop by here and sing praise to one of the most loved Mediterranean restaurants in the DFW area. We visited here recently for an iftar buffet experience and were very very happy with the food we got. The buffet line was running smoothly, from staff working diligently to hand everyone a tray with napkins, plates and cutlery already set for you. Waiters were going around the massive dining hall clearing plates, making sure everyone had what they needed, seating patrons and asking if everything tasted good. This establishment runs like a literal well oiled machine and I am so impressed. The food was as always out of this world. Carefully prepared menu that satisfies everyone's taste buds. A good selection of classic cold appetizers like the baba ghanoush, hummus, and variety of salads. Always including something unique for a typical Middle Eastern flare. Hot lentil soup available with bowls carefully placed in the vicinity. So many different types of kebabs and freshly made hot pita bread being replaced like clockwork. The buffet had many of my favorite classics like Shawarma meat, beef kebab, chicken kebab. Lamb, chicken stew, baked chicken, everything was present in abundance. They even had salmon which I deeply appreciated as a seafood lover. My only complaint is the food wasn't hot enough which can be annoying with a buffet that is serving so many people during a busy time like Ramadan. Everything tasted absolutely phenomenal and when I returned for dessert, I was greeted with six different types of sweets from all over the world. That's the thing about this place. There's always something for everybody. The dining hall was bustling with not just Muslim patrons, but also a lot of American white patrons who equally enjoy the food here as much as we do. Inclusions of dishes like shrimp pasta, fried fish, chocolate mousse, and other fan favorites is a humble nod to non-Arab customers who love to frequent this place as much as we do. If you are looking for a quality Mediterranean experience look no further than this long-standing Mediterranean Haven. Thank you for nourishing the community.
