I came in on a Sunday afternoon, definitely later than the stated 4pm closing time on the door. I thought maybe, just maybe they might still be open. She (Rose) was kind enough to do my pedicure, and she didn't at all rush through it (she was also finishing up a manicure). She took her time, was so very friendly and pleasant, and when even when I was drying and trying to rush out because they were obviously closing for the day and cleaning up, she gently told me to sit and relax, not to worry, that they weren't leaving yet. My sister and I chose Rose nails after seeing the good reviews on yelp. We were sadly disappointed. The woman who did my nails did not speak one word to me. The pedicure was good and the polish seems to be lasting long. My manicure on the other hand, is a hot mess. Not only did my polish chip but so did my actual nail underneath. I've been a happy customer here for several years now. $34 for a mani/pedi is a deal! I stopped going to those other places that charged $60+ and the polish was chipped within a few days. And even though I loved those nail techs as well, I just couldn't warrant paying that much any more. I'm happy with Rose's nail techs and I've never had to wait very long. It's a win-win! read more

Looking at my receipt: I was here on 7/7/14, to Rose Nails, on 5787 N Milwaukee Avenue. Today is 8/20/14. I don't get pedicures or manicures very often (but I take good care of my nails-they are very short, so the manicurist doesn't really have to do a lot), so my boyfriend and I saw the positive reviews & decided to treat ourselves, and being that we were in this area of Chicago, we went here. My boyfriend got his toenails painted, and I got a pedicure & manicure. All in all we paid about $60 for services, and $11 in tip. Pros: Ladies were kind, courteous, nice massage chairs, good selection of polish, cool air Cons: Only 1: They do NOT have nail dryers, they have these cheapie 3 inch mini fans that they sell at dollar stores, so you have to sit with your toes curled up off the floor and your hands in claw like positions to get your nails to dry. And you just sit there and sit there, and finally 16 minutes later (yes I timed it), I ask my worker--Can I go? And she didn't even check my nails and yes. So my bf pays (because I know not to dip my hands in my purse), and we walk out the door and I carefully open the car door and my pointer finger smudges immediately! So I go back in there and ask if they can fix it...My lady says: "What did you do? You not supposed to touch anything when you leave here." Um REALLY? I think you are wrong. So instead of fixing it, she kind of smooths it over and adds more polish to it. I sit again for 9minutes this time--and then my lady comes over and says "OK, you fine, "and not even checking the hardness. I walk out of there, irked. I get home and 2 days later, my polish is flaking off. Do you know what kind of job I have? I type, copy and fax things. After 1 week my nails look like I work in construction. Love love love this place!! Rose is a sweetheart and all the ladies are very pleasant. The shop is nicely decorated and SPOTLESS!! Pedicures are top- notch never rushed the massage chairs are wonderful not the cheapy vibrating ones the nice full massage ones. Designs are free which is unheard of and so beautiful! I can't say enough good things about Rose nails. I had been faithful to another chain (that shall remain nameless) in the area for years until I had multiple bad experiences. Went to Rose on a recommendation from a friend and can't believe I waited this long! Service is fabulous! Rose tries hard to remember each repeat client and does her best to make new clients feel as though they're regulars. Good massage chairs, great selection of colors, and no chip nail polish! Prices are very competitive and all the girls do great work. They don't rush you out like in other places and pay attention to detail. Very clean they handle rushes of people without breaking a sweat. They accept credit cards, but tips are cash only. They're located in a mini strip mall and parking is usually available. Good work but rude customer service by the nail techs. The tech I had seemed disinterested and depressed. She then busted out her cell phone to play games after she was done with my nails. The place was nice and clean, and the people had a great attitude, but my nails are totally messed up. I had them take off my overlay and reapply my gel overlay and now it has chipped off, the nails are different thickness from nail to nail, and there's gel on the back of my nails. Added to the fact that it took an extreme amount of time to get done. The people are nice, but that doesn't do me a bit of good if my nails are right. I won't be going back. read more

It's $25 and they NEVER up sell you cause that price INCLUDES salt scrub, removal of old polish, conditioning, cuticle condition, cutting trim file of nails, filing dead skin, ingrown toe nail extractions and new polish. Came here for a manicure and a color change on my toes because I read all the great reviews on here and because they only charge $10 for a manicure. I called and scheduled an appointment the day before for 11:30.... I waited until 12:10 to be taken care of. When I finally sat down for my manicure, the guy who did my nails was super slow & didn't talk and when he did I could hardly him. He did the normal 2 coats of nail polish but they were VERY thick layers; not to mention it looked like a kid painted my nails. I might as well done it myself. It was at least a half hour after he did my nail that I left. After AN hour of drying my nails, they were all smudging because he put so much polish on. I finally decided to just take nail polish and take it all off - total waste of money!! I guess it is true.... you get what you pay for. The color change on my toes was fine (no complaints about that)... because one of the young girls who works there did that. Definitely will not go back... read more

I came across this nail shop when my usual shop was unavailable for a last minute mani/pedi. I called the shop and came in contact with Rosie- who was so kind and polite over the phone. She said I can come in right away. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt welcomed and the staff was friendly. I had an elderly woman with me for my appointment and they were so patient with her. I felt relaxed and the service was excellent. The place was clean and there was a lot of colors to choose from. Antoine did an amazing job with my no chip mani. Even though the shop closed at 8 am, at 9:15 Rosie had no problem doing my eyebrows so I can avoid having to find another place to get them done. I moved into the Jefferson Park area in 2011 and needed a new nail salon. I am very particular about where I get my manis and pedis so when I came to Rose Nails hoping for the best. Well, it was! I've now been coming her since 2011 and each time I like my nails. Rose is very friendly and so are most of the nail techs. They are very busy especially on the weekend so you may wait a little but you can make an appointment. I will not go anywhere else. I like that they disinfect their tools and the place is clean. I was greeted very kindly and since I was new to getting any type of manicures or tips I asked quite a few question. Rose, the owner sat and explained everything to me. Was looking for a manicure shop, close to where I live now. I came across the many wonderful reviews Yelp had for Rose Nails. I made an appointment for the next day. I was warmly greeted and was soon escorted to my mani chair. My cuticles were expertly cleaned, nails beautifully filed into shape. The manicurist took her time and polished my nails to perfection! If your feet are sensitive, make an appointment to get a pedicure with Kim! She's very gentle and she takes her time while painting so your toes end up looking really good!
