Rose did my wedding makeup 5 years ago and I absolutely LOVED it. I have a rather darker skin tone and she did a great job brightening my skin tone without overly making it light. (I had many experiences where makeup artists made my face so white that it didn't match with the rest of my body skin color.) When I found out that she was microblading eyebrows, I made an appointment right away. I've moved away to S.F., but it was worth it to come down to O.C. and get my eyebrows done. Feeling desperately tired of my old makeup routine, I hired Rose for a makeup consultation. At the consultation, Rose showed me how to incorporate the makeup I had and new makeup to achieve a more natural and "glowy" type look I was going for. She gave me a step by step, showing me new trade techniques that I now use on a daily basis. I really really loved the end result. In addition to the more natural looking makeup tutorial, she also showed me how to do a more "going out" look with darker shades of lipstick and a smoky eye (which I've always been horrible at). This review is long overdue. My dear friend got married a couple of years ago and I was a bridesmaid. Rose did the make-up for the entire bridal party and everyone looked great. The bride was glowing and looked a more radiant and more beautiful version of herself thanks to Rose's make-up application. Each member of the bridal party had different looks/skin tone/color but Rose was able to work with all of us and made us all look flawless. The quality of her make-up and tools was great. At the end of the wedding, my make-uped face was intact. I didn't want to remove my make-up that night! (but I did). She came on time (She actually came earlier than the scheduled time to set up!) and managed to do all of our make-up in the time allotted. I wish I had the opportunity to get my hair and make-up done by Rose because I like her photos and style, but unfortunately due to the coronavirus she was unexpectedly shut down for the month of March 2020. From my interaction with her, she is a very honest and sweet person. Without me asking, she refunded my deposit due to the situation. Also, she's been really flexible with working with me on the schedule up until this virus blew-up, like when it rained and we couldn't do our photoshoot (given we gave some notice). I got to see Rose to get my bridesmaid makeup done for a friend's wedding back in November of 2017. This is a very belated review but Rose deserves a review and I wanted to deliver. During the months leading up to the wedding, I did my research and decided Rose may be my best choice- I was planning to do my own if Rose couldn't make time to see me because even the bride was having a difficult time finding an artist she was happy with. My entire experience with Rose was pleasant and smooth, from the time of contact to the end of the wedding night. I tend to be a little particular with makeup and I'm usually not satisfied even with professional work because Asian artists tend to over-smoke the eyes or other artists have the tendency to choose colors that makes me look too foreign in my own eyes. Even though I requested an appointment with her at the last moment, she responded to my e-mail quickly and was kind enough to accommodate to my schedule. I had my first microblading session last September and it was a very stress free experience. She drew out the eyebrow shape first to ensure that it would be the style that I wanted and made sure everything was symmetrical. She also chose a color that would complement my natural hair color. The actual process was completely painless due to the amazing numbing cream that she used. I actually slept through the majority of my touch up session haha! It's been many months since I've had my brows done and I'm still super pleased with the results. I think the key to getting good results (other than choosing someone talented like Rose) is to actually follow prep and aftercare instructions. I didn't follow everything perfectly but still had pretty amazing results. I've recommended Rose to all my friends for eyebrows and took my mom there to get hers done too. Rose also did my wedding makeup this past February. I've seen her work on some of my friends so I knew she would be good but honestly the results were soooo much better than I had anticipated. I wanted to look classy and natural but just more done up and the makeup came out beautifully. She did a really good job of enhancing my natural features and evening out my skin without having the makeup look cakey or overdone. It lasted throughout the day without smudging, through windy beach photos, sweating during the ceremony as we baked in the sun, and dancing the night away. I especially liked the false lashes that she used. They stayed on very well and looked natural even though they were long and full. why did i wait so long to get my brows microbladed?!?! well... 1. because i have trust issues and i can't have too dark or crooked eyebrows, i mean who would want that.. 2. i hate needles and i am a wimp when it comes to pain 3. afraid of dirty tools and infection... after childbirth i was in the icu because i had a bad blood infection due to a nurse who didn't wash her hands (sorry, tmi) but... i found rose!!!! (angels singing) and... 1. she's an amazing makeup artist. so i knew i can trust her with shaping my brows to fit my face shape and know she will be honest with me if i wanted something that wasn't gonna look good. AND she has different color for your brows guys... i never draw in my brows blk altho i have jet blk hair and rose even said bc of my pale skin, blk brows will make me look too strong (see? she knows her stuff) 2. i'm not gonna lie. you do feel the pressure but not the whole brow area. i think some areas the numbing cream works better. but even so, i was able to totally tolerate it. at one point i was like are u using a brow pencil? lol! (no, it was the blade) 3. not only is her studio clean, but all her tools were super clean. like clean tools from a good dentist office clean. anyway, i love LOVE my brows and i can't wait for your life to get easier without worrying about drawing in/smearing away brows and feel happy & prettier by going with rose :) read more
