For my entrée, I had the duck breast, and it was exceptional. Tender, flavorful, and cooked with the kind of precision that shows real care in the kitchen. Every element on the plate complemented the duck without overpowering it, making the whole dish feel thoughtful and balanced. The atmosphere at Juniper is relaxed but refined, and the service matched it--attentive without being rushed, and genuinely welcoming. It's the kind of place where you can settle in, enjoy your meal, and feel taken care of. I'll absolutely be back to explore more of the menu. Juniper is a gem.

When I arrived, I noticed someone finishing up at the bar and offered to wait for the seat, but the hostess turned me away rather abruptly. Instead, I was directed to try the speakeasy, which turned into a bit of a goose chase trying to find it. As a guest staying at the hotel, I would have appreciated being treated with the same kindness and respect that I approached the interaction with. I had high hopes for Juniper, but the welcome set a tone that made the experience feel far less hospitable than expected. I hope the team considers how small moments of courtesy can shape a guest's entire impression.

I needed to visit the area for business and decided to stay here this trip. The hotel is quite…read morelarge and modern looking and it's right in the middle of downtown, very walkable to many places to eat and drink. Arriving, there's valet out front, but I wasn't sure where to drop the car off, as they were too busy chatting to greet me, so I parked and went to greet them. They were definitely friendly once I did this, but it wouldn't been nicer if they were paying attention to newly arriving customers. Then on my last night, I dropped the car back off after I returned from dinner and told the valet I needed to leave around 4AM the next morning. He said valet doesn't open until 6AM, so he would leave my car parked out front and leave the key at the desk. Of course I came down at 4AM and my car wasn't there. The front desk lady called someone who went and got the key and car, which was contrary to what the guy told me the night before. One more issue with valet - They always had way too many cars parked in the circle out front which totally clogged traffic and prevented driving through. I went to leave and had to back out of the drive into the road rather than drive around through their circle - this was pretty dangerous. Checking in was much worse... the young man who checked me in simply gave me a key and said very little. I had to come back to ask him if there was a lounge, free breakfast, water for the room, basically all the points he's supposed to review with me. He couldn't have been more dismissive. As for the room, it was nice. Plenty of charging ports and outlets. A new modern style, with European style toilets in the bathroom and plenty of lighting throughout the room. I definitely don't like rainfall shower systems, especially with that style of handle, where there are two and you don't know which does what. The TV worked well and even had all the newer streaming services, which was great. The HVAC system was quiet and effective. Next time I'm in town I'm going to probably stay at the Westin across the street.
