I went to this nail salon yesterday for a dip manicure because my normal lady was out of town. I was told on the phone it was $55 (no tips and basic color). I usually pay $50 so thought this was reasonable. I go to pay and was charged a whopping $85 (before tip). Shocked, I asked why it was $30 more than what I was quoted. I was told they charge $15 for old dip removal and $15 for a 10 min neck rub which I was never informed in advance was extra- a lady came up and offered a neck rub so I thought it was included. Never going back here- felt ripped off and the lady kept getting up during my appointment every 5 min to answer her phone calls. The appointment was not enjoyable or relaxing at all. What a rip off. So glad bc they do great work and it is a clean airy salon with fairly easy parking. It can be challenging to make a left into the driveway, heads up if you've never been. I went into Rosemary Spa and waited to be served. They workers spoke in their native language and occasionally peered over at me. When a white client came in, they were like cockroaches when the light hit them.. As I watched, first 1 tech started pedicure, a second tech scurried over to start manicure and even a third for a massage all while I waited to be served. I would never go here again; I did not feel welcomed and the atmosphere seemed racist. So if you black don't waste your time, spend your time and money someplace else. read more

Needed a pedi and decided to try a new place. Located in the parking lot behind Walgreens in Tennessee Valley- parking is tight. They had about 10 spa chairs, and numerous manicure stations. The space was large and they took my friend and me as walk ins. They were not busy at all. Pedi cost 30$ which is standard for Marin- but they charge 15$ for a 10 minute foot rub or massage. All other places charge 1$ a minute for those services and the rub isn't anything special or different. This alone for me would make me not come back unless I absolutely had to. You can't nickel and dime people- sorry. The newer massage chairs are nice, however they do not line the water chamber with a plastic wrap so you are basically getting everyone else's foot germs when they fill it. I watched how they clean the bowls and they basically just do a basic rinse with a few splashes of water. Kind of grossed me out. If I saw this ahead a time, I would have walked out. The skills of the technician where basic , not a good scrub or cuticle push and the filing was sub par. She was very sweet, but the fact that she had a cold and was constantly clearing her mucus filled throat and swallowing it was disgusting. I was sure I would walk out of there with some type of cold or virus. 3 star because she was nice- but overall a 2.5. Facility was clean** read more

Rosemary Spa in Mill Valley is located near Roco's Dance, and Cafe Del Soul (near the Starbucks). I am not sure when they opened, but I know for a fact that they are pretty new. I came to Rosemary Spa to get my eyebrows done and was very pleased with the quick service, and friendly workers. Rosemary Spa does not stink like nail polish (like most spa's these days), and is very clean and organized. The atmosphere and music is also very relaxing. My appointment was a walk in, and the lady was very friendly and willing to help me after she was done painting another customers nails. I waited for about 7 minutes until it was my turn. When it was my turn, I was taken into the back spa room which they seem to use for all types of waxing, and massages. She applied the wax to my eyebrows, and not only was the wax smooth, and not annoyingly sticky, but it did not hurt that much. After she was done, she applied Neosporin and Aloe onto the irritated area. Price was worth it, and not that expensive. I think I will be back to Rosemary Spa when I next need to go. Just finished with my 1st experience at Rosemary Spa and I'm not impressed at all. The chairs are nice and I was looking forward to a much needed mani & pedi. Well, after only being in the chair for less than 10 mins, a crowd of girls comes in (its Prom night) and the girl working on me starts rushing. After my hands and feet are soaked and poorly cut and filed, I'm asked to exit the massage chair and go into a regular chair where they'll paint. my nails there??? Ummm, but I'm paying for the relaxation part and the massage chair and now I'm being booted out? So disappointing and then to top it off, it's $45? Marin prices for a poorly done job. First and last time here. Learn some customer service pointers if you're going to charge this prices. read more

I went there today with my Mom and 7mo old baby. We called around 10am while having breakfast at Dipsea cafe. They accept walk-ins, credit cards and for tips it's cash only. At noon, we hooked my Mom up w/ a paraffin hand treatment, rose water mani/pedi and eyebrow/partial facial wax. I got a paraffin treatment for my hands/ feet and a manicure. Not only did they help to hold/distract my baby when she got a little fussy, they went above and beyond for customer service and friendliness. They also use the Dermalogica line for skincare. Great nail salon! The girls are extremely nice. I started coming in regularly about a month ago, and have had an excellent experience every time. They do not rush my mani/pedi and make sure that my nails look perfect. You even get a 5min massage. They will massage your hands, neck and shoulders if you get a manicure and your legs if you get a pedicure. The service is reasonably priced : $15 for a mani, $28 for a pedi - well worth it! The salon is also extremely clean. Bring cash before going though, they prefer cash tips. read more
