We were very excited to get our nails done for high school and middle school graduations. However, when we entered the salon, the ladies rushed us after a very short amount of time even though there was no one else in the salon and we came much earlier than our appointment. Even though we are paying customers with a genorous tip, they didn't treat us with proper respect because we were teenagers. In the end, I wasn't as happy with my nails as I could have been because they didn't give me enough time to choose what I wanted. The water was luke warm but the oil they put on my feet were shockingly hot. Additionally, the massage was subpar. The mani-pedis were deffinetly weren't inexpensive either. They can accommodate a lot of people are don't keep you waiting, and there's a super restaurant next door! I've been here with my daughter a number of times and they've always done a great job. Its a clean nail salon with a number of nice massage chairs. We're usually able to walk in and get a pedicure without much of a wait. They also add a few nicer touches like rose petals and oranges in the water, a nice long foot rub, and careful attention while helping you with your sandals. My sister went to this salon and was charged 70$ for a dip manicure. The manicure lasted three days before it started cracking and chipping. When she went back to asked to have it fixed, the woman who works there was rude and charged her 10$ extra. When my sister returned again since they continued to chip they did not offer to redo the nails and started screaming at her in dispute. I will make sure to let everyone I know in Marin to never go to this nail salon. It is ok to make a mistake in not doing the nails well, but to have such poor customer service is not ok. read more

They are the best reasonably-priced mani-pedis in Marin. Kind attentive employees who offer tea or water, relaxing chairs, good variety of polish colors, and enough atmosphere to let you really relax. I had a very good pedicure. I'm very pleased with that. She was very thorough and took her time. I'm giving this 3 stars because I got very upset when I went to pay. I am a hairstylist here in Mill Valley. I know that clients aren't aware that certain services are an add on price. Therefore, I always tell them the cost of the extra service upfront. With my pedicure, I requested callous remover. I know from experience, there is an extra fee. Most people may not. However, when I went to pay, my pedicure that is $30.00 was now $40.00 just for adding some callous remover liquid to my feet!! They should have told me it was a 1/3 extra to add to my pedicure!! Ridiculously expensive. I felt taken advantage of and robbed, scammed! I've had callous remover many times and the most was $5 extra dollars. I think that for that ridiculous upcharge, they should definitely tell you they are adding a whopping 1/3 of pedicure to your bill. I never write reviews. But, I really feel this was so morally wrong. Again, pedicure was very good, but, I feel to charge that much was to take advantage of their valuable customers and greedy. read more

Wildly unevenly trimmed toenails, ragged cuticles, rough patches of skin at tops of toes, heavy calluses on ball and heel of each foot, polish not quite reaching bottom or sides of nails. Sounds like I need a pedicure, right? Unfortunately, that's what my feet looked like AFTER my $28 pedicure, version 1. I've had some great pedicures at Rosemary's in the past, but at least with this pedicurist - who had very little English, but her manager was right on hand to see what was happening, hear me trying to talk - the experience was right on trend with what seems to be happening in so many other places these days: 1. Allow all of 10 seconds of soaking before beginning cuticle work. 2. Still with very little soaking time, give a few desultory swipes to bottom of feet, ignore all other calluses and rough patches. Okay, that part's done! 3. Rush through trimming, good time to chat with colleagues. 4. Spend LOTS and LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of time massaging and rubbing creams on calves. 5. Rush through application of polish. Two stars because another pedicurist at least fixed the worst of the trimming, re-did polish. But I think I'll try a different place next time read more

I always leave this nail shop feeling like I got totally ripped off. I stopped going here on a regular basis awhile ago because every time I went I ended up spending twice as much as I do at other shops. I went back last week for the first time in ages and quickly remembered why I no longer go there. I walked out spending $138 for a dip manicure and regular pedicure. Per usual, they asked me at least 4-5 times if I wanted extra massage. I told them over and over again that I didn't. That's their usual way that they run up the bill. Then the woman who was giving me my pedicure asked if I wanted my calluses removed. I said yes, because that's always part of their pedicure there . I learned when the bill came that they charged me $10 for removing calluses. They claimed that they used a special tool this time that's more expensive than the regular callus removal process. Extremely annoying and just another tactic to run the bill up. I had my nails done 4 days ago and have had to go back to the shop twice to fix two nails where the dip has already chipped. Not only is it annoying that I paid $138 for this service. The fact that I've had to take time out of my busy workday twice in less than a week to go back to the salon and wait to get the nails fixed makes me even angrier about the money that I spent. So, long story short, they got me again for a BIG bill and this time a poor job, but they've lost my business forever because I will never go back to the salon again. Hopefully the owner reads these reviews and realizes that greediness will not win long-term customers or loyalty. Not only will I not return, I will actively tell others not to go there as well. read more

My daughters and I have been going to Rosemary's Spa for a few years now, but today was the last straw. We walked in (don't ever call for an appt because they don't schedule them, one of them just answers the phone and says "yes come in".) and asked for mani/pedis. We were told to pick a color and seated in a timely manner, soaked for a few minutes and we both started to get our pedis. My pedi was started and finished by two different people (not a fan of this but quite common)and then another person started my mani and the other two moved on to work on two other guests who arrived as walk-ins after my daughter and I. I noticed my daughter wasn't getting her manicure done. I mentioned it to one of the other ladies, they discussed and one of them started the mani. Now, I'm done with both and waiting under a nail dryer for 10 mins waiting for my daughter to get done and the client next to her is done with a mani and pedi!! I notice my daughter has white paper on 3 of her nails. She was bleeding! I realize it happens but 3 fingers on one hand?!! She even told me after that they squeezed lemon on them and it stung so badly. I get the lemon thing is part of there mani service to get the oils off the nail bed before polishing, but really??? Not after cutting the client. Ouch! Talk about going through the motions.We finally were done and I mentioned the fact that others were done before us and that she was cut a few times. Her response, "So Sorry." Not, "Can I comp your daughters manicure or let us give you a free brow wax etc. Nope, she said, "That'll be $90." Well you lost a family of three as clients today and I should have done this a long time ago. Spend a little more $$ or not and frequent a place where quality is more important than quantity. Had a gel manicure with design close to $50 tip included. Within a week the fingers on my right hand started to peel,I came back to the shop to get my nails repaired and they informed me that I would have to pay an additional $10 which I refused to pay. They lost my business today, I am aware that you can't guarantee a gel manicure will last for a few weeks but less than week is ridiculous. I guess my money has no value here. I want to give my money to businesses that value their customers and a ten dollar repair is not worth loosing a client over. Peace!!!! read more

I got a groupon for a wax and went to check it out. It was a very clean environment and a surprisingly quick but thorough wax. The women doing the wax was very professional to interact with and did wash her hands before and after but didn't wear gloves during which kind of creeped me out. I had the best mani pedi and the place is very CLEAN. The tools are sanitized, and if anything falls to the floor, I mean anything, it is not reused. The owner's attention to details is exceptional. The service and workers were great!! They did not rush my manicure, and the workers were very nice! My nails looked great and didn't chip for a VERY long time! They also added in a 5 minute massage that was included! I'm a semi regular here for my eyebrows, raved about this place to my girl friend. She went in a separate occasion for nail gels. Less than a week later, we were clothes shopping, noticed the gels appeared to be melting. I encouraged her to return, certain they would make it right to keep her business. What I heard disappointed me. They asked what her job was, she said she was an RN and they blamed her nursing exposure. What they didn't ask, is that she has no access to chemicals, she does not even work at a hospital, her main exposure is a patient in their home, an iPad, a copy machine and a telephone. Instead of apologizing and offering her a fix, they blamed her profession and offered her a layer to cover it up. I am Shaking my head. A good business would try to salvage the relationship, listen, apologize, fix the problem ... And continue the business. She declined and paid full price at another shop to do it right the first time. And now they lost 2 customers read more
