We enjoyed our visit to this cute winery. The owners were very nice and talked to us about how they started their winery and Texas wine in general. Lovely grounds. Great stopping point in between Houston and Austin!

A very quaint Texas winery with some very nice wines. The elderly gentleman (and his wife) who own the place are a pleasure to chat with. If you have a few extra minutes it's worth the stop. Note of caution. If you use Yelp for directions (instead of copy pasting the address directly into Google (or similar) it will take you to the wrong place. Yelp directions take you about 5 miles west of La Grange whereas the vineyard is located 5 miles east. This is not the first time using the Yelp directions link that I've had issues.

Definitely a stop you should make! Quality wine and dedicated retirees that are struggling with no one helping out this couple...

Decided to be a day tripper on Saturday as it was a beautiful day for a drive…read more Friends had told us about stopping at Sixth Street Bourbon on their way to Austin while traveling on 290 Hwy. Lots of free parking available. Entered the place and we were greeted by a smiling employee and some water! This place is a great secret to exploring. They have 4 different bourbons that they give you FREE samples. And they have several others that they only charge $3.00 per sample. Husband & I each had a taste of the 4 year & the 6 year which was a great way to become familiar with their bourbon. We then decided to order some drinks. Husband had Smoked Bourbon (rocks glass) which is;2oz Sixth Street Bourbon, 1 oz Vanilla Liqueur, Mesquite-Smoked Ice Cube, Cinnamon Stick( so they smoke the ice cube) this was a great drink. I had Old Fashioned (rocks glass) 2 oz Sixth Street Bourbon, 1/2 oz Simple Syrup, Angustura Bitters, Orange Twist, "Filthy" Cherry. It's an Old Fashioned which is always good. This place is small town charm with a 'Cheers' feel. I highly recommend that you go here. If traveling on 71 or 10 or 290 make the stop and hang out with some great people and drink some great bourbon. ...You MUST try the Rock and Rye as it's like Fall in a shot glass, but you need to sip it and enjoy it. Your Welcome!!

He gave me tips on how to take in more of the flavors while sampling. Overall I would recommend this business. The bottles are very nice. With Christmas nearing they would make great gifts. Stop by on your way through and check them out.

I was there to drink good wine! unfortunately, that's not what I got. I got five tasting tokens. I tried the Jal Spice (weird smoky flavor and bad aftertaste) the heritage (best of the bunch), the mead (decent, so i got two pours) and a red blend I can't remember (except that it tasted bad). Although I bought bottles at the other two wineries, I wasn't even tempted. The wine tasted off. The best description I can think of it that it tasted skunky, like bad beer, but also had this overwhelming wooden taste in the red ones. The mead was ok and the heritage had the least amount of aftertaste. My entire tour agreed that it wasn't worth the stop. Hope the company eliminates them from future tours.

She has a great variety of wines and taste for all pallets. My only negative feedback is that the tasting pores are very small and not worth the tasting amount which is about $12 I believe. Her bottles generally run about $29 each. She has very good customer service and is very knowledgeable and is proud of her craft she also sells homemade soaps and honey as well
