I've lived in the area since 1986. Although the staff has probably had some turnover, the culture of the store sucks!! RUDE RUDE RUDE STAFF!! They don't deserve the customers they get. Almost impossible to compete with Millie's Hallmark in Ahwatukee, but Rose's has a good selection. Location convenient area of Scottsdale. It's not as easy to find a broad selection of greeting cards and related gifts these days so Rose's definitely fills in the gap. read more

I love Hallmark and will continue to shop there because of proximity and the ornaments, but I do have to point out that the ladies who work here are not very friendly. My 75-year-old mom and my 20 year-old daughter were shopping together and ran in there 10 minutes before closing and they called me to see if I wanted any ornaments before they checked out and I could hear them giving them countdowns of how many minutes they had to check out. It does not take long to do a transaction there. These smaller shops should be thankful for business and the people who shop there. I overheard one of them telling my mom she had two minutes after asking a question. Two minutes. If I were the owner and I had employees treating customers like this, I would not be happy and they could find a job elsewhere. If you're not good with people and providing excellent customer service, you shouldn't be in the business dealing with people directly. It's just bad for business and it looks like my family is not the only ones who have been treated this way. These shops are supposed to be more personable and a positive experience. This post office (if that's what you want to call it) is right by my house so the location is super convenient. From now on I will drive to the Via De Ventura actual PO instead, where the staff is nice, helpful and friendly. The women at the Via Linda "so called" post office are incredibly RUDE and DISMISSIVE EVERY single time I have been in there. I have heard the same complaint from several others. I love all the different items available to purchase when in a hurry for a gift. In addition, I love the variety of cards, however most recently I purchased 15 cards and at the register the lady said they were out of Gold seals and had been ordered, but none available. This was disappointing as this the Hallmark signature and when I send cards its the Gold Seal was missing at ending my card. The only reason I found out about this Hallmark store is because I worked with a lady that had bought really nice face masks here and I wanted to buy some. I made the trek to north Scottsdale and was not disappointed. They have an amazing mask selection with lots of styles, prints and colors. Of course I had to explore a little more once I found the masks, because the aisles are filled with a great selection of gifts. Make sure you allot ample time for browsing because it is well stocked. Sharon's is one of the fun stores I like to shop in for Birthdays and Holidays. Over the years Hallmark has increased their offering to include many specialty items that you cannot find elsewhere. We ordered an item online and had it delivered to this store. They were very rude when we asked them to check and make sure the item wasn't broken. We didn't want to take the item if it was damaged. We told them this and they got quite angry and said we couldn't return it, because we ordered it online. I understand that, but they could have been much more polite about it. I usually love this store but....My mom in law bought me some earrings from this store. She brought them over with the GIFT RECEIPT and said if I didn't like, exchange. Not my cup of tea, I decided to exchange. After perusing the store, I brought a couple items to the check out. I told the salesperson I wanted to exchange and she said "no returns on pierced earrings". I showed her my GIFT RECEIPT and she said, "sorry, it's printed on the receipt". Yes, the BUYERS receipt, not the GIFT receipt. It said nothing about this rule on my receipt. I can understand this rule but why give my unsuspecting Mom in law the gift receipt when it was useless on this purchase? The store is cute and has nice merchandise but the service and attitude is terrible! They are snippy and rude to their customers, from the front desk and especially at the postal section in the back. The store is filled with signs posting picky rules of what they won't tolerate, including cell phones. And as of Aug '22, they still want customers to wear masks (which I ignored so got lots of dirty looks), just ridiculous. I've gone back several times in the past 2 years, hoping for an improvement, but it's only getting worse. The workers there make me feel as if they are doing me a huge favor by allowing me to shop in their store. The postal section is not at all helpful to someone who is confused or has questions. Yet another demanding sign, several actually, tells us to have our package taped, sealed and ready to go. It's obvious they do not want to be bothered to help us in any way. I've ordered several things this past week and only want to make one trip, so I called back to see what was in. She first said she couldn't open it to tell me. So I asked for an order number or any information and she just replied "it's busy in here, I have a line of customers, just stop in to pick up your order ok?" I didn't even reply and just hung up. Purchased two masks that I have purchased previously and when I got home noticed they were the wrong size they are sealed, unopened, not touched with the receipt. Would not even exchange for me. At 8.99$ for each and constant referrals to go in there and get these masks and a frequent customer for years. Business can't use Covid as an excuse to not do what is right. Trying to shop at this establishment has resulted in an absolutely HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I rarely write reviews, but the poor customer service here warrants a write up. My husband called multiple Hallmark stores in the valley last week in search of a Precious Moments Christmas ornament for me. When he called Rose's Hallmark Shop, he thought he was lucky to come across a Hallmark store that had a Christmas ornament that I have been looking for. I have been collecting dated Precious Moments ornaments for years and almost all other Hallmark stores seemed to be sold out. The sales associate that answered the phone told my husband that they would put the ornament on hold for him and soon after calling, he went to the store to purchase it. Come Christmas morning as I was opening gifts from my husband, it turns out that they actually sold him a figurine and NOT an ornament. We thought, that's okay, we'll exchange it. On December 26, my husband returned to the store explaining the situation that he was accidentally sold a figurine and not an ornament. The store sales associates refused to exchange the figurine for dated Precious Moments ornaments they had in stock and refused a refund stating their policy does not allow it on seasonal items. We would have gladly kept what they sold him if they would have provided the correct merchandise. It was clearly their mistake!!! My husband could not be held at fault when he trusted the store to sell him what he asked for. The figurine was packaged in a box and he was not offered to open or to examine it to ensure it was an ornament. Thinking that I could make an attempt to correct the situation myself, I brought the figurine back to the store with the receipt and original packaging. I kindly asked to speak with the manager on duty. Stephanie came out to speak to me, but was not kind or accommodating. I explained the situation and that I only collect Precious Moments Christmas ornaments with the date and not any figurines. Despite their mistake, they refused to rectify the situation. She informed me that Rose's Hallmark Shop is not corporately owned and that it was a franchise. She told me that they could no longer sell the dated figurine and nobody would want it. They were not apologetic about their error. In fact, they sold my husband a $40 figurine when the ornaments are around $25. They took advantage of the fact that my husband was looking for something specific and they probably felt happy to unload what they felt they couldn't sell before or after Christmas. I'm all for supporting small businesses, but this is clearly an example of why one should not shop at this Hallmark or any franchised Hallmark store. Their customer service is poor and you will be made to feel like they do not care about your business. Note that most reviews for this Hallmark store are either 1 or 5 stars. I'd be inclined to believe that the 1 star reviews are credible and the 5 star reviews are fake. I had to learn the hard way that only Amy's Hallmark Stores in the valley are corporately owned. Corporate Hallmark stores provide refunds and exchanges with friendly and professional customer service. I would have been happy with either a refund or an exchange of their in-stock dated Precious Moments ornaments the day after Christmas. Instead we had to resort to purchasing online from Amazon. I do not recommend Rose's Hallmark Shop to anyone. read more

Over this last Christmas season I went to mail a package. Waited in line for over 30 minutes. When it was finally my turn I asked for tape and she said we doing give tape you have to buy it. I asked where do I buy it and she said at the front of the store Then I asked if I can come back to the front of the line since all I needed was some tape and she said NoI gave her this mean look because I was so shocked at their answer. Who would say that? And the line was even longer than it was when I first came in I started to walk to the front of the store to hunt for the tape, found it. Apparently you have to pay for it at the register up front not the back. Well that line was long too. I just walked out and said forget this place! I have NEVER been treated so rudely at any business ever. After being kept waiting 5 minutes while the elderly postal clerk chatted with the customer in front of me, I was flat out yelled at for not having the box I was shipping taped up. The tape dispenser was on the counter right in front of him, but he continued to yell at me for several minutes as he applied a few pieces of tape and weighed my package. This was all the more amazing as he didn't have an issue keeping the line waiting while he just conversed with the previous customer.
