I drove over to meet with Kathy and finalize the order. Kathy is amazing!!!! The floral shop is gorgeous and filled with the most beautiful fresh flowers and arrangements to choose from. I even witnessed some arrangements being made for an upcoming wedding and they were beautiful! They also have some plants there as well. I love supporting small family owned businesses especially when they are so nice and accommodating as Kathy is. It's not very often that I need to use a florist but I know one thing for sure - the next time I need flowers I'm going to Village Florist! Their prices are comparable to other florists. I was specifically looking for a 8ft pre-made balloon garland that I can install myself. Let me tell you, Meri was the only person out of the 14 different people I contacted that offered this. Not to mention, I contacted her 3 weeks before the event which is super last minute! (Don't wait last minute like I did!) She was sure to provide all the necessary (damage-free) supplies needed to install it. She also gave thorough instructions & was MORE than helpful. We hired someone for Face painting, and balloon twisting, and paid the extra to make sure they were twisting balloons and doing glitter tattoos in addition to the face painting. Needless to say, we were very let down when the girl showed up, with not only NO balloons, but nothing for glitter tattoos either. We had lots of sad children who had been promised one thing, and got another. The price was also advertised on craigslist differently than what they quoted us when we contacted them. We went ahead and paid the amount they asked for (we booked fairly last min, so we were just happy to have someone come out), but the woman sounded annoyed on the phone to even be dealing with me. The girl who came to the party was very sweet, but the communication on the event company was just not there, because when we asked the girl where the balloons were, or when she was going to begin the glitter tattoos, she informed us she didn't have them with her, and hadn't been told she was supposed to. I was pretty annoyed we paid for extra services that we did not render, and they made no attempt to reimburse me for the extra add on's I paid for. I would not recommend these services to anyone, and would not use them again either. The worst part about this was the kids who were left disappointed. If I had the option, I would not give this place a star at all.
