Brought my car in today for a slight broken part. It was fixed in less than 10 minutes and for a fraction of my quoted insurance deductible.

I must have called and stopped by at least 15 body shops all over the Twin Cities before I found Bona Bros. Name a shop you've heard of, I went there and was told no. Body shops that work on rust are a dying breed! I get it-- rust is the cancer of the car. But we still treat cancer. The folks at Bona primarily work on specialty vehicles, like ambulances, delivery trucks, etc., where it is worth the money to do body repairs rather than totaling the whole vehicle. Al said he would take a look and send me an estimate. When he did, he gently suggested I should consider finding a new car, instead. But he also quoted out the whole job and said they were happy to do it if I wanted. I'm emotionally invested in the car, so it was worth the price. Al and his team did a fantastic job replacing the floorboards for me. He kept me in the loop with updates as they worked, and the final total came in under the initial quote. If you have a car with rust, this is the place to take it.

We handle insurance claims, fleet body work, and the oversized vehicles other shops turn away. Because we're part of the Bona Bros. integrated operation, a truck with both body damage and mechanical issues from the same incident gets repaired in one place: body work here, mechanical next door at our truck shop. They worked with us by accepting the other party's personal check in advance even though it was not their normal policy to do so. We were happy with the repair and recommend them highly.

On my way home I noticed the time and thought I would pop in to ask for an estimate appointment. I entered the office to owner Joe & told him what I would be requesting. Joe kindly suggested we step outside and estimate the damage. I showed him the few small defects; he noted that the headlight placement had been damaged and that likely all repairs would be roughly $2100. I asked if they did loaner cars during the repair? They do not, but if it's the other persons insurance they should allow a rental car. I discussed the "Selected Service Shops" the insurance had suggested. He stated that those places are usually commission based and that Wayne-Val is just him, his wife & brother-in-law compared to larger shops that are 20+ associates. I feel confident in leaving my vehicle w Wayne-Val and will do another yelp/update this one once I have actually had my vehicle repaired. I appreciated that Joe quoted me a realistic 19 February as what I'd be looking at for a service date. I mostly appreciated that Joe told me some of the questions that the insurance may ask, such as: do I approve used parts? He said I don't have to say yes and he wouldn't recommend used parts and it could only save insurance a couple hundred dollars. Thanks Wayne-Val for a wonderful and knowledgeable customer service experience!
