My 25 year old trusted metal door came to an abrupt and bitter end due to operator error, and it was noon on a Wednesday as the dangling twisted metal panels, pulley and parts laying the ground made my garage an unusable danger zone. Went online with Homedepot and Lowes to find out a replacement double 16'7' wouldn't be available for over 3 months. I Checked his license online to verify Roseville Overhead Door is currently bonded and in good standing. Loren takes my call directly while on the road from another call, he gives me a rough estimate for replacement over the phone and drops by the house within the hour to verify a quote and check for repairability. This made the difference as a majority of garage door service persons rely on answering services. This is a Father and Son operation as father Loren and son Chris pull up and hustle out of the work truck with a the kind of smile that recognises this is a real job, reminding me of the days I used to roll up on calls in the Fire Truck. Loren had such a positive attitude it set off my bullshit meter at first thinking this guy is too good to be true being in such good spirits, but as he called out all the damage points here and there, he really knew his stuff by describing each prior failure and all the issues I was long suffering. He looked at my springs and called out tension numbers, he looked at my door opener and recognized it as recent newer model DYI install. Without any hassle was he was willing to fix or replace the door and told me he could get my door put back together in the closed position right now and could install a replacement tomorrow (at a price known only to me to be %20 cheaper than the door alone from Home Depot in 90 days). He showed me his suppliers' catalog and pointed out the good economy insulated door I wanted without the upsell that would match my second garage and called in to verify inventory color and window choices I wanted. I must have had 3-4 repairs on this door the past 25 years, and every one of them made me sit through a 'replace your door sales pitch', Loren seemingly agreed that fixing it again would just mean more service calls sooner than later and it was an honest choice for me to make. I decided on replacing the door, and with just a hand shake he hands me his card without taking my information or deposit , he and Chris spent about 1/2 an hour manipulating the mess with obvious skill into a passing configuration of a closed door that will secure the garage until 10am the next morning for a replacement. Consistent with his attention to detail, I chuckled just a bit to discover he removed the sticker from my previous repair person after he left. He was just out this morning, installed a new door with all new hardware, took away the existing trashed door and was done in about 90 minutes. Hiding in my house watching the install on my security system getting desk work done, Roseville Overhead door showed me integrity and craftsmanship even when I was not around to watch. Having a skilled installer with an apprentice with skin in the family business game makes all the difference, it's a two man job that so many struggle to do single handedly. He even reinstalled my do it myself door opener correcting my errors. A handfull of American Airlines sky miles later on my credit card, he hands me a receipt and is on his way. I spent 30+ years responding to emergencies before retirement, it was sure a pleasure to find a competent responder in my time of need. 4:15 pm - I broke the garage door - it was off the rails & stuck open. They had someone at my home in under 10 minutes! It's the end of a hot day, and they made time to come fix my door. Service tech Kris was kind, friendly (even though he thought he was done for the day before my call). He even found all the screws on my garage floor that could have damaged my car tires. CAUTION !!!!!! Had Roseville Overhead Door replace a couple of parts and they tuned up the overall door. The lubricant sprayed on the moving panels dripped to the front on door leaving 2, 10 x 4 " marks. No reply to two texts and a phone call to attempt to discuss. Had to purchase gallon of paint and primer to fix myself. After charging me $375.00 to replace the cable and spring would expect better service. read more

Did a good job on the install. But followup support leaves much to be desired. A few days after the install the springs were no longer holding the doors up. I texted and called multiple times to get someone to stop by and adjust the springs. Finally reached Loren one time and we scheduled a time for him to come out. Due to some issues with a lift I had for him to use I told him we would need to reschedule. After that I was no longer able to get him to call back or respond to text messages. You can't run a successful business if you don't support your customers. I definitely don't recommend using this company and will be sure to tell others to stay away as well. read more

We called Roseville Overhead Door to fix our garage door. They said that they could come in 2 hours. 6 hours later and 3 phone calls (with promises of "we'll be there in 15 min) later, no one came. We called a fourth time and they said that someone would be there at 7am sharp. Guess what, 7am came and went. We called at 7:30am and woke the guy up. He said that he'd be there in 2-3 hours and we told him no thank you. What a joke. We called our neighbor, who came over 5 minutes later and had the situation fixed in 10 minutes. I had a garage door repaired by Roseville Overhead Doors on April 18, 2011. My wife was present since I could not be there at the time. After the bill ($375.00) was paid in cash, the owner, Loren Chitwood, gave her an invoice. When I looked at the invoice my wife brought to me, I noticed that there was no indication that the bill was paid. This was concerning to me since he had been paid in cash. From my experience it is normal for a business who has been paid for their work to indicate that payment was made on the final invoice. I called Mr. Chitwood the same day and asked if he could fax me a copy of the invoice with his printed name and signature and the words "Payed in full by cash." He promised he would fax it to me; he never did. I called an additional three times during the next three days and asked for the same item; each time he promised he would take care of it the same day or the next morning; he never did. Finally, I threatened to contact the BBB if I did not receive this document. He has not called me back or faxed the document. Apparently, he is very good at customer service prior to a sale, but once the sale is made, he won't take 60 seconds out of his day to satisfy a customer. read more

Don't mess with broken springs! 2nd time was for a service. he greases down the system, and checks out the garage opener. Today, I called at 12:30, he arrives around 2:00. i need 2 new door panels that I dented. They will be installed next Wednesday. He will also service both garage doors and openers at this time. Installed 2 new garage doors. Installer said he didn't know how to program the door. I Called the owner who said he also didn't know how to program the door, but he just installed one for himself at his home. He said he would call back when he got it. 3 weeks and no call back. Also, 2 garage doors came with 2 controllers each. We should have had 4 controllers. The tech left 2 controllers only. I called to get the other 2......again wouldn't respond. My husband was upset that I paid the full amount when they couldn't show me how to program AND left with 2 of our controllers we paid for. Very sleazy operation. Live and learn. read more

The garage door spring broke and the soonest appt. we could get with another outfit was on Wednesday which meant leaving our cars outside. I talked with the son to arrange the appt. and his father did the actual work. He quoted us $195 to replace the spring we gave him $275 instead of doing the work so quickly and his positive attitude. This company is a joke!! I paid $600.00 to replace the door panels and one upright. My two cars were stuck in my garage and they kept telling me it wasn't a problem. When the so called worker entered my garage he was pissed off about the cars in the garage, leaning his ladder on the fender of my car!!! He did his best to just install the door panels and that was it!! He left without adjusting my opener. I went to open the door and it opened only 3/4 of the way, when is closed the door the door closed and the opener kept pushing after the door was closed, if I wasn't standing at the switch it would have destroyed the new door. I used Roseville Overheafd Door a little over a year ago on Apr 24/2015 to replace and install a broken spring on my garage door. However just 3 days ago wile on the other side of the house, I heard a LOUD bang~ Thinking my boyfriend might have come home I walked out to the drive way- looked around... his truck wasn't there, the garage door was still closed and I didn't notice anything different that could have caused the sound. Later I went to pull my car out of the garage and the door only lifted a couple inches and then would slam down. That's when I noticed that the spring that I had just replaced a year ago was broken. I paid $160 for that and of coarse expected it to ;last more than at least 10 years. So I called Roseville Overhead Door and left a message on their voice mail and received no call back. Since then I have left several messages -all on voice mail because evidently they never answer their phone. Today I set out to walk into their office to complain only to learn that the address on their receipt is to a post office box at Fed Ex. They told me the office used to be on Vernon but they have moved since then and Fed Ex didn't know where ! Isn't that just so convenient! So now i am on a mission to find them ! My husband and I chose Roseville Overhead Door because they seemed like an honest small company. We generally like to support small companies when it is possible. I absolutely love my Garage Door but they are definitely NOT HONEST! When he came out to see the job and give us a quote he measured and got all the particulars on what we wanted. He said he would have to call with the exact amount but gave us a ball park figure. When he later called back the amount was agreeable and we had him order the door. When the door was fully installed he presented a bill to husband the was $600 more than we agreed on. Unfortunately we did not get it in writing that was our mistake for trusting him. The door also did not have all the hardware we requested. My husband and I have repeatedly called to try to work out a solution and at least get the hardware but he has not returned any of the calls. i believe he knows he was wrong and just can't face up to it. I am writing this review so other people don't make the same mistake as we did. If you use this company be sure to get everything in writing. I personally would not use them again and I am sad about that because he seemed so nice. read more
