This place is amazing, visited many times. Highly recommend the fried cheese, it's a must have!! For an entree there are many that were tried within our party. Pleasantly surprised at this little gem located inside Delton Downs! What a good little resto and with fair prices, especially after you haven't had your best day at the casino. I called and left a message to make a reservation and received a call back within 10 mins. We were lucky enough to have Rachel as our server, and she was amazing. Very sweet and always there with whatever we needed before we even asked. Ordered quite a few bar drinks and even asked for some "different" types of drinks and the bartender was spot on and made all of them fantastic. It's been a few weeks, but I just can't get that fried oyster & butter lettuce salad out of my mind! It was a variation from my norm & it was great! The lettuce wasn't too saturated with that common & usually avoid salad dressing. The dressing also shared in a cooling purpose with the avocado opposed to the spicy fried oysters. The bacon bits served as additional crunch. It ALL came together. My companion's gumbo was quite salty & the steak sliders were just ok. Steak was cold, vegetables were awful, asparagus was cooked to death and disgusting, and don't get me started on the house salad which is mixed greens and mozzarella cheese..... rubbery, tasteless, & the chef should be fired for the mozzarella cheese alone, and service was slow but it was because our waitress was serving the entire restaurant alone. Honestly we've wanted to try this restaurant for so long and it was always closed. It was open this weekend so we got a comp from our casino host and the food was absolutely awful. Their burger was... amazing, or maybe I was hungry. It was so big that I couldnt even finish it. My hubby ordered primed rib.. he said it was also good. My mom ordered the rosewater chicken with mashed potatoes and she said it was good. The place is very nice and clean. The reason I gave 4 stars was because it took soo long for our food to come out. I think it was about 25 or 30 min we waited for it. It was not busy but our waiter told us it was because of what I ordered that takes longer to cook. She was was very nice and checked on us enough to make sure we had our drinks refilled (She gets 5 stars) and everything else fine. If I could give a negative on this restaurant, I would. The food has always been good here and I have always had good service until tonight when we requested more containers for the left overs. We were given 2 small containers a piece and was told that we could not have any more. Even if we paid for them. The manager was called over and she told us the same thing. That they limit the number of containers - who cares if we had prime rib and potatoes and salad left over. The prime rib portion was so big that we could not fit it in the container ... but she would be happy to provide a plastic bag for the remaining food. How unsanitary is that response? The worse customer service I have had in years. I will not be returning and the horrible customer service will now be an example of how you should never treat your clients. read more

This was our first visit to the newly reopened Rosewater Grill, formerly the Vista Grill. The food was very good, and our server, Christi, was excellent. The first thing that we noticed on the menu was that many similar items from the previous Vista Grill were on the menu, but almost all of the entries were a la carte, with the typical side dishes that were previously included were now extra. This made the total dinner price much higher than a similar dinner under the former Vista Grill which it replaced. I've been to Rosewater several times. I almost always get the same thing. Berry Salad with grilled chicken. It's my favorite!! The chicken is always so moist! One time we even thanked the chief. They've never disappointed with their service or their food. But don't expect to get a ton of food for an cheap price. The serving size is perfect, they don't over do it. Ok ...not great by any means . First off the restaurant is very nice. We sat in a round booth facing the race track and thought that was cool. The food was not good at all. No seasoning, I ordered a steak (33.00) that was tuff and over cooked. I ordered medium rare . I got well done. Sides are extra nothing comes with the meal...lol what????? I ordered a 6.00 Mac and cheese that tasted like watered down noodles!!! I felt so bad for the server he was running around like crazy and he kept checking on us I did not have the heart to send it back. My husband ordered the fettuccine with shrimp and crab. Very little meat in it at all and he said it was very bland with little seasoning. I do not understand how such a nice place can have under seasoned food not cooked right at the price points they have placed on it. Very disappointed will not eat there again. I do not recommend eating at the rose water grill. I ordered the Ribeye and it was tough. The iced tea looked like it came from the Sabine river during the flood. The staff have better things to do than to take care of the patrons. Go up stairs or some other place to eat. Don't waste your money or time. read more
