You will get an okay meal with decent service here. He had the bangers and mash and I had the roasted beet and goat cheese salad. While my salad was pretty good, the bangers and mash were the okay part...which should not have been the case in a British pub. The service was pretty decent. Recently I went if for a quick beverage and overheard rave reviews for their $18.00 burger. There may have been a side but I wasn't interested. I told the bartender I wasn't interested in a side. The burger was expensive enough, I had salad at home. He persisted, convinced me there wouldn't be a charge. I ordered it to go. After paying the bill i notice a 'side' charge. I brought it up to the bartender. I just wanted the hamburger! What part of that 'repeated' statement did he not get? His response was cavalier & dismissive. 'Oh well, can't do anything about it now, you've already paid!' I get home to find an overcooked, dry $20.00 something hamburger. Some things you let slide. Not this $20 something hamburger & a side of 'I could care less'. I left a message for the manager that evening, explaining what happened. Never heard from them again. This isn't the first time I've had an unpleasant experience. One bartender pressured me to give him more (grats) money because he let me 'taste' a beverage or two. He was inebriated.
