The shop itself is really cute and gives that old-school ice cream parlour vibe. It's not huge inside, but it honestly adds to the charm. They make their ice cream in house and have sooo many flavours to choose from, including a bunch of unique ones and homemade waffle cones that smell amazing when you walk in. I got the cookie dough and biscoff in one of their waffle cones and WOW. AMAZING. Literally so yummy. The cookie dough flavour was super creamy with big chunks throughout, and the biscoff was honestly one of the best I've tried! really rich and flavourful without being too sweet. Together they were such a good combo. And the waffle cone made it even better because it tasted super fresh and crispy. You can tell the quality of the ice cream is really good. It tastes homemade and rich instead of tasting icy or artificial. I totally get why this spot is always busy and why so many people love it. The staff were really friendly too and the line moved pretty fast even though there were lots of people coming in. That's one thing I noticed even when it's packed, they're super efficient. We popped in the store and the place was filled with people at around 8pm on a Friday. Just looking at the freezer, my husband and I were sold on the peanut butter and pistachio ice cream. No taste testing necessary! I was a bit disappointed with the bland flavour of the pistachio ice cream, but I did like that there were bits of nuts in it. The peanut butter ice cream was PERFECT!!! It had a strong peanut butter flavour, without being overly sweet. Love how there were rice puff blended in to elevate the texture. In fact, it was so good that we bought a tub to bring home! I really appreciate that they had benches for people to sit on inside the shop, as outside was a bit too cold for me that night.

The problem is, however, that I didn't order vanilla, I ordered Toasted Marshmallow. As I kept eating, I did find sporadic pockets of marshmallow, and they were good, but I definitely wouldn't classify them as "toasted." Still, I'd return just based on the strength of that vanilla.

The cone bottom is plugged with a marshmallow and there's still vanilla ice cream under the custard so I couldn't take it away as planned. By the time I made it to my car I could see the drip. It was easily devoured and quite satisfying. This is a definite must try. Not overly sweet. Cone is made to order. It's all put together with such patience and care. Definitely worth the drive. Since it was my first time here, they let me look at the laminated menu for as long as I needed. I saw the mango coconut vegan chimney cone. I went for it. The woman said that it would take six minutes to make the chimney cone. I was cool with that. My friend and I chatted while we waited. I paid with a credit card. You have the option to tip. I tapped and all was good. The woman handed me my cone. It looked amazing. I thanked her and we walked away. My friend was kind to model it for me. I'm so used to holding items for photos that it was refreshing to have her do it for me. We shopped while I ate my chimney cone. I don't recommend it. First, I'm a slow eater. Second, I truly needed to focus on eating it than looking at merchandise. I eventually had to sit down in front of the Food District to focus on stopping the vegan ice cream from melting down my hand. You need napkins and wet wipes. It was messy and I did laundry later on that evening. I had some ice cream drip on my joggers. My mango coconut had a coconut cone, mango coulis, shredded coconut, and dried mango. The ice cream with the fruit was heavenly. The chimney cone itself had a marshmallow at the bottom that acted as a stopper. The casita roll was underwhelming, as it was just Neapolitan ice cream wrapped in some cake. However, the biggest issue was the service, which was incredibly slow and not very attentive. Had I not visited with my partner who is Arabic, I probably would've gotten ignored as well. Even then, the service we received was mediocre. Unfortunately, that seems to be a reoccurring theme for this establishment. Pinochi has potential. I want to see Pinochi succeed as it's a nice addition to the surrounding community, but that's hard to imagine if the staff doesn't seem to even want the business.
