I don't understand why this place has so many negative reviews??? Crema Di Gelato has by far the best gelato I've had outside of Europe. From flavor to texture, it is phenomenal. The gelato is also dense and creamy, without being heavy, like authentic gelato should be (not airy). I've tried many flavours over the years and they are all amazing. I've never had a miss. My personal favourites include pistachio, yoghurt, mango, ferrero rocher, and hazelnut. I love that they make their gelato in-house. The ladies who work there know their stuff and take pride in their business. They also let you sample flavours before you commit. read more

Crema Di Gelato has had the best gelato in Burlington for many years...everything is homemade from fresh quality ingredients & is delicious. The lemon and also the mango I had today are equally as good as I have had in Rome! I didn't know they had moved from their larger storefront to a smaller establishment around the corner and I'm so excited to have rediscovered them!! It's a very small space with no indoor seating but it's right beside the park at the lakefront & so you can take a nice stroll down there or sit at the tables outside the store. Home made gelato according to their sign. It was steady today because it was a sunny day They had about 20 different flavors to choose from including lemon, coconut, kinder bueno to name a few. They had 3 different size cups to choose from. A large was big enough to share for 2 people very easily. They also had edible cones also. Not many tables to sit down outside to enjoy the treat and the staff were standard and didn't go above and beyond. Think it be nice if they were a little more friendlier. We enjoyed the gelato and look forward to trying a couple other flavors when we can afford it. read more

I went here with a friend on a hot and humid day, after a walk along Spencer Smith Park. We came here and I asked to try mint chip (was okay), then asked to try a chocolate one (too sweet) when I asked to try a third flavor I received a rude glare and the woman made a comment in a ru that "samples are limited to two per person". Mind you, it isn't cheap here - about $6 for a small cup; not including the waffle cone upgrades, etc. I was taken aback by this as by the prices this place is charging, I expected a little more. Unfortunately, this woman - who seemingly could have been the owner just wanted to make a quick buck and clearly does not prioritize customer service. I guess they're hoping with the location, the gelato will sell itself. However, judging by the previous yelp reviews below, bad customer service is a norm at this store. Four stars for lovely cold sorbets and gelato, minus one star for not-the-greatest service. Three or four people standing behind the counter but only one can serve customers at a time? It makes no sense. I asked twice if there were any non-dairy products and was told about one (which was marked "dairy free"). Later they told my daughter that *all* the fruit flavours were dairy-free. Whatever. The dark chocolate and raspberry sorbets were lovely, and what a nice treat on a warm July afternoon. They should really make those cash only signs bigger... kind of stupid considering how busy it is going to be in the summer. I've been here about four times already, and I love this place! The flavours are superb, my absolute favourite is the dairy-free dark chocolate (not that I don't like dairy, but this one was just so rich and delicious), but I also really like the mint chocolate chip and the tiramisu. Flavours change all the time though. The customer service isn't consistently good, they're not rude just a bit too rushed, but I think that's a lot to do with them being really busy in the summer time. The lineups can be long but I'd say service is still quick. Cash only is a bit of a bummer, but I can't imagine how much longer having debit/credit machines would take, so I don't mind. Pricing wise, I wouldn't put this in the most expensive category, I've definitely paid more for ice cream. Besides, this stuff is totally worth the quality, I'd say! read more

Thank goodness these ladies are back! The gelato is all handcrafted, made onsite and fresh. Flavours like concord grape, barlett pear, niagara peach, local ontario strawberry. When the original place closed and a bloody awful I "heart" Gelato opened, I'd lost all hope. However! Crema di Gelato has reopened around the corner on Locust. Costing a lot less in real estate, staff, and other overhead - it's actually just a storefront now. No tables or washrooms or space to loiter over flavours. The gelati are hidden under silver tops, and no longer viewable. Despite a less customer-friendly atmosphere (which you'd think would make the owner noticeably happier) she still seems miserable. Tried to go to this place after rave reviews. Went around 1:10 when the hours begin at 1. Doors were still locked and curtains closed. Knocked but no response and tried calling (figured maybe they'd open a few minutes late...life happens). Went for a short walk and came back to find a sign saying gelato will be available at 6pm. A) why have your hours posted as beginning at 1 if you're just going to change them on the fly. B) the sign showed up only a few minutes after we knocked so someone was clearly there ignoring it. My girlfriend and I went to grab a late night snack on the weekend. So many flavours! And everything tastes so fresh! I had the extra dark chocolate and pistachio, and my girlfriend had the honey lavender and strawberry cheesecake. We both loved our flavours. We will definitely be going back again soon. Awesome gelato. Comparable to Il Gelato di Carlotta (Niagara falls). Cash only. Long lineups in the summer, because it's that good! The water is a quick walk across the street so nice location. We've tried the honey lavender, tiramisu, black currant, pistachio, hazelnut, ricotta and fig, passion fruit, pink grapefruit, and almond terrone. Gelato is okay. But the service tastes like garbage and ruins the gelato. My 3 friends and I just went, lady in front of us got 6 tasting spoons. I have recently been diagnosed with dairy allergy and asked to try a flavour, since I'm new to non diary flavours. When my 2 friends had decided what they wanted. I still wasn't sure on the rasberrry and asked to try the peach and lemon to make up my mind. Server said no and glared at me, then said only 2 tastes allowed. I said I'd only had one, so she then said pick another. I asked to speak to the manager since they were more than happy to provide 5 tasting spoons to the lady in front of me. I was told no. I asked for servers name, was told no. After I'd paid she brought someone out from the back who told me I can only make ice cream related complaints. Not sure if rudeness is age related or racist since she was clearly happy to give the caucasian lady in front of me unlimited tastes. My recommend is to give this place a pass... BURLINGTON restaurants for the most part have great service. Just Not this one. read more
