This is actually a taste of old England with a 1790 home that's a tea room, sandwich shop with a beer and wine bar. The food is exceptional all made on the premises. The decor is really unique and typically British with a very homey comfortable feel. this place is not to be missed for some touch of Merry old England in Lunenburg county. .

Seems like only cold food? Do they make homemade chips as a side? Is there a bar menu available online?

Hi! This is a cool historic establishment that has a tearoom, cafe and pub! The tavern menu is basic lunch sandwiches, some grilled, salads and chili! The food is great and the desserts are homemade. They also have live music some nights. Check it…

Everything is made fresh in house with organic ingredients. I had a cranberry bacon scone and oh my gosh it was divine. It was moist, had beautiful layers, and paired beautifully with the Devonshire butter. The warmed scone came with my soup flight. Yup! I said SOUP FLIGHT! I had the harvest soup, lemon chicken orzo, and tomato basil. The harvest was my favorite. It had the perfect balance of fall flavors. The lemon chicken orzo was also flavorful, the chicken was tender, and the orzo was cooked perfectly. The tomato basil was also delicious. It wasn't overly salted or too heavy which I often find when having soup at other establishments. Their quiches are all gluten free which I can't wait to try next time. They also have chicken salad and several other selections to choose from. There are a ton of teas to try too; either hot or cold. Plus they have over ninety teas you can purchase too! They have two bathrooms that are just as adorable as the dining area. They also have a prayer room and a selfie wall! If you're a breastfeeding parent it could also double as a lactation room which is incredibly helpful. They truly thought of everything. Parking is easy as it's in a strip mall. There's plenty of seating or you can take your food to go. They have high chairs available as well as children's books. Right next door is Kips tea room which I can't wait to try in the future too. Kip was equally wonderful. Kip and Erin are a dynamic duo of warmth and you can tell that everything is made with love! Check this local business out!

There are dozens and dozens of tea flavors to choose from to enjoy there with a meal, or take home! Either way you'll be steeped in satisfaction! The owner, Erin, is lovely and so willing to please her customers! Her staff is also super friendly! The decor is warm and inviting, with little nooks for selfies, moments of reflection, or work or read! I came with a friend, no reservations required, and the food case was full of delectable choices, (Tea with Kip next door provides her menu selections) and we had a hard time deciding from the yummy offerings! There were 2 soups, ham & bean and a butternut chicken (friendship soup), quiche, a spinach wrap, a roast beef sandwich, several salad choices, along with a variety of scones, muffins and danishes! Our meal was scrumptious and the tea was delish. We chose the Earl Greyer and can't wait to go back to try the plethora of other flavors! The tea shop was beautifully appointed and we had a wonderful time! I can't wait til next tea time!

There's plenty of parking around the building, and overall this place is super spacious, bright, and airy. I came here for the Valentine's day weekend afternoon tea. I thought it was super reasonably priced at only $45. There were numerous tea options, and we thought both of the options that we ordered were extremely tasty. The Paris tea was PHENOMENAL, and the teapots offered generous portions of tea. In terms of the food on the three tier tray, I will say that the sandwiches were tasty. It was a good spread of cucumber and dill, egg salad, and southern pimento cheese spread. The dessert-style foods were a little bit lackluster with the scones more on the dry side, and the desserts a little bit underwhelming/feeling store bought. The service, however, was so great. They were so attentive and kind.

The dining rooms are the real draw: white fireplaces, natural light, quality furnishings, and genuine care in the setup. Well-executed, no fluff. Worth a visit if you're in Mebane.

The previous owner was from England, and the place definitely had a British flair. The new owner, who was an employee, purchased the tearoom and has mixed the English with the Canadian touch, to celebrate her roots. It's a delightful environment! This quaint establishment is head to toe covered in gorgeous teacups and teapots, with whimsical decor throughout. We made reservations, highly recommended, and were seated at a cozy table. It was decked out with the usual tea accoutrements. My friend and I both ordered the Windsor tea which came with open faced tea sandwiches, cucumber, egg salad and chicken salad. The tier also came with a sweet plain scone served with preserves and clotted cream. The tea finished with an array of English and Canadian desserts. Also served is a cream tea, and several other afternoon tea choices. Or, you can order off the menu à la carte. Lunch is served from 11-1:30 which choices from cottage pies, to scotch eggs, to frittatas, soups and salads. We noticed the soups and were happy when we asked if they were available with the teas. The afternoon tea is served from 2-4. Typically soup isn't served at this tea, but the owner said they had some from lunch and we were treated to a fabulous potato soup! It was a cold and blustery day so that warmed our souls! The service was a tad slow, but we could see from the full house that the owners and servers did their best. The price was so reason and we had a simply delightful time at the Maple Leaf Tea Room! And I love how the name pays homage to Canada as well!!

When the order came from the kitchen, it was only one sandwich, so we had to ask them to make the rest of our order. The bathroom stank strongly of urine, like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks, and the floor felt sticky.
