I was told I "needed a root canal," and I agreed under the assumption that the procedure would restore the tooth. I was not told that the tooth would be left structurally weakened and incomplete without an additional procedure at a separate cost. I was informed that the existing crown on the adjacent tooth was at risk of being dislodged during the root canal. That resulted in another $1,313 expense. The entire picture should have been communicated upfront, before I was in the chair, and before I was committed to the procedure. This omission mattered. It affected both my financial planning and my ability to make an informed decision. It also created a situation where the burden of cost and stress did not become clear until it was too late to choose differently. I am not asking for anything. I am stating the impact. They do not feel responsible for their work if they cause damage.

All I wanted was to understand why he and the secretary on the phone kept saying it was illegal to provide me with the information to either have him paid or be reimbursed. I also wanted to know how was I supposed to submit a claim to my insurance company to get reimbursed for his services if he, or this mystery owner, were claiming it was my responsibility to complete and submit all necessary information on my own if they were refusing to provide the needed information to do so. I don't understand why they would refuse payment in full from the insurance company or allow me to be reimbursed after I paid for his services. Regardless of all that I had paid for the doctor's services by money order to ensure that Dr. Candido was paid for his services. I even had payment in full for the services he was to provide on March 8, when he neither showed up or called to the appointment. I don't understand why "the owner" would force me to see another provider while not even considering allowing Dr. Candido and I to see what could be worked out as he promised. He and the secretary promised to work with me, and she said he would take good care of me. He was exceptionally nice, put me at ease, and patiently explained everything to me. It's been so hard finding providers like that. It's unfortunate when the care is eliminated from healthcare and providers no longer care about patients but how they get their money no matter what the consequences for the patient. Such as refusing to allow me to be reimbursed and paying them in cash or, as I had, by money order. That's just plain heartless and really seems to be the norm rather than rare. He drilled it and filled it then later on it got infected,and radiated to the adjacent tooth,the filled tooth eventually broke because it was drilled too much causing it to weaken and break. Another dentist pulled the one tooth and another needed a root canal and crown,it was over $3000. Also on the other side of my upper teeth he filled in between,it was a quick job, and never mentioned anything about a cavity (Cavities) but advised it would prevent the food from being packed in.
