JUST WOW! I get my 2019 Honda CRV maintenance and repair at…read moreChristian Brothers on Ruff Snow in Fort Worth.. Had maintenance including Oil Change 2 days ago. Drove to Dallas for Dr. visit today. On my dash was the symbol of an oil can which I looked up on google and in my haste I thought it meant LOW oil pressure. I am 35 miles from home, what should I do.. Called my Cb on Ruff Snore. Megan gave me the location of CB on N central in Dallas. Turns out I was 5 minutes from them. Called Cb N. Central, Joey said bring it over. Five minutes later walked in to CB. Long story short Tyler and Brandon-took care of me. Checked dip stick, drove car and then very nicely informed me that that Oil Can symbol next door o the life of the oil on my dashboard did not Mean Low Oil Pressure but remaining life of the oil. They did all of this in about 15 minutes and I left a happy "sheepishly semi-stupid" 78 year old guy. They are a class act in the auto repair business. Do not go to anyone else, you will come out way ahead!

Crazy over priced. My car went in with knocking noise, enough to pull over and get it towed to…read moreChristian Brothers. As stated by others, they charged $189 for the diagnosis which they said was my alternator. I've been around cars and I knew that was not the issue, however they tried to tell me the electrical system could cause the symptoms. The estimate was $1006.54 just to replace the alternator with $230/hr for labor and a $500 alternator. I questioned the high price and they said they needed an experienced technician. I was in a bind so I had to have them do the job. After it was completed, they took it for another test drive and now they said they found the issue. It was an ignition coil failing and they need to replace it as well as the 4 spark plugs for another $875. Asked why this was not found during the first inspection, they told me sometimes things like this get missed or are sporadic, pretty much it was not their fault. Again, being in a bind, I had to have them do the work and I talked them down to $1765 for the entire job which is still a ridiculous amount. They did not budge even though they knew they were price gouging. To prove my point, I called another service garage and got an estimate for the exact same job: Alternator replacement: $784 vs $1006 and this included a new belt which was not replaced by CB Labor Cost: $165/hr labor vs $231/hr Ignition coil and 4 spark plugs: $410 vs. $875 Total out the door: $1194 vs a negotiated $1765,. savings of $571 I'm sure they do good work and if you are willing to pay the price, great but the way they tried to justify the repairs and their outrageous prices put a really bad taste in my mouth. If I wasn't in a bind, I would never have had them do the repairs and eaten the $189 which is also bad practice charging for an estimate.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would…read more I dropped my car off Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. to have my door lock actuators replaced. Later that day, I was informed that my brakes and rotors also needed to be replaced. On Friday, I called about an hour before closing for an update. Carrie told me, "They're working on your car right now. Everything else is done--they just have to put on the brakes." I asked if she thought it would be finished before they closed because I had to work at 7:00 a.m. the next morning. She told me she would do her best and assured me not to worry because there would be a way for me to pick up my car, even if she wasn't there. She never called. The next morning, I returned around 10:00 a.m. after receiving no update and found my car still on the lift. When I expressed my frustration over the lack of communication, Carrie immediately became defensive and rude. Rather than taking accountability, she talked over me, dismissed my concerns, and spoke to me as though I were a child. At one point, she even got up from behind the desk and walked toward me in an aggressive manner, making me feel genuinely uncomfortable. Thankfully, the owner came out and completely changed the experience. He was professional, honest, and transparent. He explained that my brakes & rotors had not been completed because the shop had received the wrong-sized parts. He personally went to pick up the correct parts and had one of his best mechanics install them. That level of customer service was greatly appreciated. After I got my car back, I noticed a warning light on my dashboard that had never been there before. Carrie immediately implied it was my vehicle's issue rather than something related to the work that had just been performed, which once again led to a combative interaction. The owner stepped in, acknowledged they weren't sure of the cause, and asked me to return Monday when the technician who replaced my door locks would be back. When I returned Monday, Carrie's attitude had not changed. I asked for the owner's contact information, but she refused to provide it. I asked when he would be back, and she claimed she didn't know. Throughout the conversation, she repeatedly interrupted me, and at one point even told me to "sit down" as if I were a child. About ten minutes later, Andrew diagnosed and resolved the warning light. He was knowledgeable, informative, and explained that it was simply a minor oversight related to the previous repair. It's unfortunate that one employee overshadowed an otherwise positive experience. The owner and Andrew were exceptional, professional, and treated me with respect. Unfortunately, Carrie's attitude, lack of communication, refusal to take accountability, and unprofessional behavior made this one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. After reading other customer reviews, I was disappointed to see that my experience was not an isolated incident. Several reviewers described similar interactions with Carrie, and even her responses to those reviews reflected the same dismissive, argumentative, and unprofessional attitude that I experienced firsthand. That consistency makes it clear this is an ongoing customer service issue, not simply a misunderstanding. I sincerely hope management addresses it because the rest of the staff deserves better representation.

I also had a check engine light at the time and needed a smoke test to figure out where my emissions leak was coming from. Meineke quoted me $3,000 to replace my purge valve (results of the smoke test), and to replace all my brake pads and rotors. I'm just a broke college kid!!! They didn't do anything to help me out really, so I called Brakes Plus. And boy am I glad I did!! Brakes Plus replaced all 4 brakes pads + 2 rotors (they sanded the other 2 to save me money because they didn't need to be replaced just yet). My brakes/rotors were also COATED in rust -- it was bad. And they completely took care of it. I told the manager my budget, and explained how I'm a college student so money was tight. He was more than happy to do what he could under my budget and even included a $50 manager discount! I also mentioned the smoke test that I had just paid for at Meineke and how they quoted me $800 just to replace the purge valve. They ran the code and it came back to be something else. He informed me what to do and if that didn't work to come back and they would offer the repair at a cheaper price (about $600). I was able to replace that part on my own for $150 (thank you, dad) so I didn't need to go back. But I was BEYOND happy with my experience. I felt like they truly cared about me. That's what you want in a mechanic! Will definitely go back and recommend to friends and family. Thanks so much!
