I took my Jeep JK in for a front end alignment after replacing steering components. When I picked it up, the steering wheel had to be turned to the left in order for the Jeep to drive straight. When I brought it back, I was told the issue was likely play in the steering box or possibly the tie rod I installed, which I confirmed was the correct part. It later became clear that the steering wheel was never properly recentered after the alignment even after a second look. On a solid-axle Jeep, toe and steering wheel centering are separate steps, and this appears to have been overlooked. The staff was polite, but unfortunately the alignment was not fully completed. read more

I needed an oil and filter change. So I called my friends at Northrich Automotive and spoke with Jeff late Monday afternoon and asked if he could get me in asap, as I needed to leave on a road trip Wednesday morning. He said "no problem" he schedule me in Tuesday, the next morning. I could go any place else much closer to my home, but I won't. They have taken excellent care of me in the past with all of my cars and truck so for me to drive a little further for their service is well worth the extra distance. Prices are fair and my car was done sooner than what Jeff had estimated. No job is too big or too small, all of the staff takes every job seriously. They made me aware of any issues on my car that may need attention and never try and sell me anything that isn't needed. I highly recommended Northrich Automotive. Brought truck in because it was overheating. I had replaced thermostat and water pump a couple weeks before at another shop. I then replaced thermostat that same morning to see if that was the problem, was not. I explained to the shop we had just replaced tstat and pulled hoses to check for blockages and there were none. They then proceeded to change the same thermostat and check for blockages of which they were informed we had already done. So they charged $1280 to disassemble and reassemble the hoses and put new t-stats in to no avail obviously. Next the serpentine belt was taken off and the same one put back on for $210. Finally they pulled the water pump last and realized it was a bad part from ford. Ultimately the water pump (free replacement part) cost over $2500. Dustin did what he could to help trim some costs (few hundred bucks) but the owners ultimately are in charge. I feel their inefficiency was my problem. Dustin communicates well but I don't know if I would let them try to figure things out on their own. read more

Disaster struck recently when my wife's 2014 Honda Pilot died suddenly. She was able to limp into a parking lot but once the engine shut off it would not start again. Towed it to Northrich and they had it running again quickly by replacing the alternator. Quality work done fast and they didn't break the bank. Very satisfied! read more

I've been looking for a local repair shop for four years, and I'm so glad I finally found this hidden gem! A day before needing to leave town, our only car was smelling like burned plastic. It turned out to be a plastic bag we ran over and had melted to the bottom of the engine, but Northrich didn't make us feel like idiots for bringing it in anyway. In fact, they told us some necessary changes that could've cost a lot if they got worse, but didn't pull the wool over our eyes on some things that weren't a priority to get fixed. I also appreciated that they brought us home after we dropped off the car. And understood our need for it to be finished quickly. Fantastic customer service and work on my Ford hybrid. It needed both headlights replaced which, with this car, required removal of the front bumper (thanks Ford)!. Pictures were provided and quotes presented all along the scoping out of the issues & before repairs were completed. The AC wasn't working so that was another issue we worked through together. They called me & sent pictures about what they found & the required parts to fix it. I told them to go ahead; they secured the parts and got the AC back working! This family run shop is transparent, honest, and above all very auto knowledgeable. I've done business with NORTHRICH AUTOMOTIVE and Alex (owner) for 25+ years & honestly will never take my car anywhere else. They also have access to transportation to/fm NORTHRICH when I need it. I have a family with 5 vechicles, anytime we have any need for mechanical work we always bring them to Northrich Automotive. They are honest, fair priced, and do exceptional work. My son took his car to another auto shop and was quoted over 1000$ worth of work. I told him that we should take it to Northrich for a second opinion. They let us know that the other place was simply trying to take advantage of people that don't know cars, and all that was wrong was he was low on break fluid. When issues immediately arose, I was kind of stuck, as no other local shop would touch it and I wasn't getting much support from the transmission builder. Man I really wanted to like these guys!!!! When I first took my car to them I was told that I had to pay $800 something for wiring and new brakes n a tuneup. I paid. The second time I was told around the same price for a map sensor and tire rod,when i got the receipt i did some research and found out they triple charged me for parts and didn't do a good job at fixing the problem. I've learned my lesson with these guys, never again will I take my car to them. The last time I did I actually had my car towed away from them to another shop. I had taken my vehicles ( 4 different ) over a 22 year period since 1996 for work and servicing. The last 3 services took the usual 3-5 days to service. But for a change I had to return the one vehicle multiple times because of things like breaking the the dipstick handle after an oil change, not tightening all the bolts on my Heavy duty trucks fly wheel, replacing a previously non leaking main bearing seal only to have truck leak worse than ever and having two bolts of eight that hold my transmission in fall out. Not the same service I used to get. I have spent over $80,000.00 in repairs at Northrich Automotive since 1996. I won't be going back. Well where do I start. I will say that the service writers are nice and friendly but I do not trust them anymore. In the passed 2 years, I have spent over 8000.00 at this shop. My fault that I did not questions much of what they did because at the time I trusted them. They will call you or tell you how long your vehicle will be in the shop and you should count on it being 2 to 3 times longer. if it is 4-5 days, try 2 plus weeks. Them you will have to bring it back a few more times to get it right. I had paid for some repairs to be done and to this day I am not sure they real done the work they charged me for. This last time I had taken my truck to them it was to take one day and ended up a week plus 3 trips and several days to get it repaired right. What blew me away this time is they damaged my radiator and was told they would have to replace it. Later I found out that it was not replace and when I asked about it I was told "Oh we were able to fix it". Two day later my truck leak anti-freeze everywhere and yes I took it back for them to repair the damage right. I picked up my truck today and was charged for the radiator, almost 500.00. Folks......I would not take your vehicle to this shop. I am not in a habit of writing this type of review but I am very displeased with their service and charged for something they broke. They will not have to worry about dealing with me again. I really feel that I got screwed. If I find out that they did not do the repairs I was told they had done and charged me for, I WILL SUE THEM! read more
