I visited this Ross in June of 2021 and I wasn't terribly impressed. I couldn't find any styles that I liked and the shoe section was really disorganized. It's very seldom that I leave a Ross without purchasing anything, but this location was that exception. read more

The five stars on this review is for Bailey only. I was standing in line and Bailey and another young girl were the two cashiers. Many customers in line were being very impatient while saying rude comments, even getting loud and demanding. Bailey stayed professional and checked out every customer as quickly as she could while giving the customer the attention they needed. I won't forget to add she was doing a great job multitasking by answering the phone quickly when it rang as well. She had a great attitude and stayed positive. I hope Ross is treating her well because it's hard to find employees like Bailey. Give that girl a raise! read more

Very slow. Store very messy seems poorly stocked. Manager inattentive. Long line from 9:30 when I got there. Took me 20 min in line. Manager doing put backs and ignored line. Manager did take the time to walk outside and check closing time and announce closing time and ask people to make final selections to the single cashier.All parts of store in need of attention. This is the place where children call out for disinterested mothers in the same tone, ad nauseum, before launching into unmitigated waling. This is the place where mothers hope to lose those children. This is the place where you will have to sift through thread-challenged clothing to possibly run into two viable items. This is the place where security tags are placed on shoes not worth the price of the security tag. This the place where you go to the only manned register, and she tells you to go over to another one. Because it makes sense that she is lounging at the register no one is actually using. This is the place where you will be accosted in the parking lot by a woman holding her/someone's medication list, in need of only "a dolla, or suh'in" to catch a bus. I was at the Ross store in Austin, Tx on Ed Bluestein Blvd and HWY 183. I asked where the restroom was located and the salesperson told me in the back where the fitting rooms. Well after shopping in the store for about 15 minutes, I went to use the restroom and it was blocked off. I asked one of the staff if I could use the restroom she rudely told me I could see it was blocked off (with a clothes rack) because the person was on break and I had to wait for 10 minutes. I told her I would like to use it now that is why I asked her. If they had not been rude I might have waited but at 75, I figured I don't need to hold my bladder until someone comes off their break so I left all the items in the basket and left the store never to return there. read more

Let me offer this Ross location a piece of advice from a seasoned veteran of retail. If there is a line half way down the store isle, with only the customer service desk open, don't have multiple managers standing at the front, discussing the "riff raff" that comes in on a daily basis. Go call for some help or get your happy ass on the register and ring up some money! Two stars for still carrying decent summer dresses under $20. read more

I feel like I review all the Ross stores around town! It was really cold and I had a light jacket on with no hat, gloves or scarf and I was going to try a new food trailer. I didn't have time to run home so, I ran to this Ross location to see what they had! I found a really nice Columbia ski jacket with a fur hood for $60.00 and a Calvin Klein hat, scarf and glove set for $30.00. I probably saved $200.00 on buying this stuff at ross. The gloves were really cool because they are texting gloves so the tip of the index finger and thumb open and have a button on them. This location had a huge selection of stuff that I had not seen at other Ross stores but, this location was also very disorganized. It wasn't merchandized so that you can easily maneuver and find what you need. There was tons of stuff on the floor, clothes off the hanger and lying on top of the racks and empty shelf space. It took the girl forever to check me out at the register and they only had two cashiers even though it was very busy. Then she almost forgot to take the security tag off of my hat, gloves and scarf set. The parking lot is also a nightmare because there is too many stores and not enough parking. read more

God, I love Ross Dress For Less. I love their designer shoes when they go on sale and I love their designer handbags when they go on sale and I love just digging through the piles and piles of crap to find that one nice whatever it is I was looking for. As the other ladies mentioned, the jeans are great if you can find them. I do get annoyed my the children raising hell in Ross, but giving them the evil eye is part of the fun I think. read more

I'm on a quest to find a cool ring dish/ring holder and figured that it wouldn't hurt to stop at Ross! I have had success at one of the Round Rock Ross stores (the one next to REI), so I came in with high hopes. Unfortunately, I didn't find what I was looking for and left empty-handed. There is no jewelry storage section to speak of--in fact, roughly 50-75% of the kitchen/bath/decoration section was empty! I also noticed that security treated me with suspicion on account of me bringing in my grocery bags from Target (hey, I decided to get a little exercise while grabbing this week's toiletries). That was not fun, to say the least. I wish I liked this store, since it's so close to home. I doubt I'll be back anytime soon. read more

I've never seen slower cashiers in my entire life. Even when the line is clogged up, the employees still take their sweet time.

If you can't stand the thought of picking out an outfit in the morning, you may want to skip this stop. For those who possess more patience and a sense of adventure, Ross is always good for a treasure hunt. I wore sweatpants through 8th grade (not the fashionable ones....I'm talking 100% cotton FTL in teal, red and purple with the tapered, ankle-hugging elastic...). As a result, I have a rather late-blooming jean obsession that I nurse at Ross. If you're willing to put forth the effort, there's a gem or two to be found among the racks. The store is easily accessible with 8 Austin locations and their slogan "Dress for Less" is certainly accurate. Watch out for disorganized displays, long lines at the dressing room, and young children holding relay races in the crowded aisles. Ross is kind of like winning the lottery....once you win big, you'll strike out many times before claiming another prize. Definitely worth re-visiting. read more

Firstly, the dressing room lady was so unexplainable rude. Then threatened to call security on me because I came out in a pair of pants that I was going to try on with the rest of the clothes I had left outside. Because of the 8 item maximum. I even brought out the things I like and didn't like. Short blond haired woman with glasses. She's very bossy and so unpleasant. This was this evening she was working. But lastly was the manager up front. Her name is Christina. Christina informed me that Ross had no bags at all. I said no big deal, do you have an empty box? She looked up at me and said no. Then continued what she was doing. Meanwhile, I was staring at an EMPTY BOX BEHIND THE COUNTER. Then I proceeded to ask for a trash bag, to carry out my $300 in purchases!!! And she said "no, we don't just give away trash bags"! I am so completely and utterly appalled at the customer service at this location. I am visiting Austin and came to Ross to get work clothes. I told Christina that I was going back to my hotel and I can't really carry all of this stuff. She looked up from what she was doing and said "ma'am I already told you, I can't help you". I have shopped here for years, but I won't be returning after this. And I will be taking this to all social media review sights and the BBB if this issue is not resolved. I am infuriated and completely regret even giving my hard earned money to a company that enables their staff to treat their consumers like trash. This staff doesn't even deserve one star. read more

Okay yes, you walk in, already bracing yourself for long lines and much, much, much disarray. But it is *absolutely* worth it, if you've got time, to do a little digging to save some cash. Just one example, of many, many, many: I had a Black & White Gala fundraiser to attend (where I volunteered my time in lieu of purchasing tix, I am seriously on a budget), and I *could* have worn a black dress that I own, but where's the fun in that? I decided it would be more fun to try to find either (1) a dress, but only if it was super cheap or (2) fancy black shoes to fancy up my dress. This, on my lunch hour before my volunteer shift started, the day of the event. (Sometimes, planning is not my forte). I walked in, bee line to the shoes -- sadly, none. But then, in the dress aisle, I found *exactly* what I thought a B&W Gala required: a super pale pale gray matte "satin" strapless gown, just below the knee with peekaboo tulle (others were wearing short dresses), and an ivory satin sash. $5. WHAT? That's right, FIVE DOLLARS. Zipper fully intact, no rips -- just a couple dirt "streaks," if you will, along the hem & seams, a couple on the back bottom of the skirt. Gone with the magic Tide Pen. Rare, yes. Usually if I walk in looking for something, I might find something close, and usually I don't cut it so finely with time. But check this place out -- in the swimsuit heyday, I saw a suit for $29.99 that was in dillards for $84.99, same exact model, same exact day (I was trying hard to find my magic one, that's another story). After a disappointing trip to a Ross DFL competitor, I recently began shopping at Ross again (for housewares) -and have been fairly satisfied with the affordable selections for housewares. In connection with a recent move, I purchased a ton of stuff at various Ross locations, but before I could get settled into my new living space, I had to move again (under very harrowing circumstances) and am now returning items that were packed in haste (I had help packing and there was no time to sort returnable items.) IH-35 Location (near 51st St.): So on this trip, I was just returning my final Ross purchases and walked in at a very busy time -- with the checkout line ~ 20 ppl deep - at 1:15 on a Thursday afternoon! I've previously ignored the unfavorable reviews because this location has a decent selection - but much of the merchandise looks picked over and the store is ALWAYS filthy in the rear (where housewares are located). Today, the male who processed my returns (and who I presume is on the management team) was short, condescending and RUDE!! So while I didn't wait as long as I thought I would, my return experience was made very unpleasant by the individual at register 7 at 1:18. Rug and rug pad (4x6 to match rug) were on the same receipt - and only the rug was accepted (i.e., returnable) because I didn't have the thin piece of plastic the rug pad was packaged in; unsure what to do with the rug pad. I left feeling more than a little perturbed. read more

what most of the reviews fail to realize is this store has the highest volume to the border. as well as it's right on the interstate. the store isn't a mess because the staff are careless it's because the customers have no respect for the store. they throw clothes on the floor or on top of the racks, they pee in the stalls on items of clothing, and absolutely demolish the bathrooms. I've seen customers yell and scream at the associates because there are only two of them to handle a line that goes back to the fitting room and stays that way through out the day. They are extremely short staffed. So maybe think about that before entering this store and if you are a customer who acts childishly. Change. These associates are in college trying to provide for themselves and don't need to deal with full grown adults acting foolishly. read more

Ross has good products and pricing, but they need to get rid of the bad attitude customer service employee (or move them to the back warehouse), regardless of seniority. Even Good Will employees are normally polite and helpful, there is no reason to keep a low standard when you offer some discounted rates. I shop there for years I could have bought their stocks, yet there was the one femal employee (colorful dying hair African American) woman who works in the evening who seem to either very friendly to certain customers or outwardly mistreated others. She displayed her displeasure towards me for no valid reason as I am one of the most sensible, polite, and respectful customers they've had. One time, instead of taking the next person on the return after serving two on the purchases line, she intentionally skipped the next customer on the return line when she saw me. There is certain incomprehensive jealousy, unpleasant display on her face when she served me each time. She was abrupted, never a salutation or a thank you word in all of her handling. That is very un-professional and wrong! I can't believe Ross would keep someone like that to serve the public. I brought it up to the manager once when she mishandled my purchases but the manager had never done anything if not even seemed to be afraid of her when I brought it up. The Eastern Indian lady in the back fitting room was on the other hand very polite and pleasant. read more

I like shopping at Ross Stores but not this one. The store is always dirty, clothes are never taken care, just thrown around. And the people that work there are rude and not very smart. Here is an example of the last (and final) time I went there. There was a box of wine glasses (4) that I wanted to buy but it sounded like one of them was broken. The box kept making a broken glass sound when I picked it up. I asked the squatty sales woman if I could open the box to see if any were broken. "No," she said, "If you open the box you will have to buy it". Well, I don't want to buy it if one or more of the glasses are broken. She said, "You will have to buy the box and check it when you get home." I asked to speak to the store manager and this guy says, "Yes, if you open the box, you have to buy it." What if a glass is broken? "You will have to buy it and then return it for your money", he said. Seriously? I wouldn't spend a dime in this filthy place run by idiots. read more

I love Ross! This is the perfect place to get a nice pair of shoes or jeans for an unbelievably low price. They have home decorations and kitchen stuff for cheap, too. Sometimes everything is a mess, but it's definitely worth going through it to find that perfect pair of jeans or shoes at less than half the original price. I even bought five pairs designer brand sunglasses on clearance for $1.50 each because the cashier was pricing them when I went to checkout. I bought a $300 suit for $50. Sometimes you don't find anything, but there are other times you'll hit the jackpot. read more

Should I really be surprised that I received terrible customer service at Ross? As far as the shopping, they have some decent items, but the people that work there are ridiculous. I bought a frame there tonight. It wouldn't fit in the bag with the other items, so I said that I'd carry it out. After I paid, I picked it up off the counter and it immediately broke. It was obviously already broken, but either way, it was a piece of junk... When I said I was going to go look for another one, the cashier's exact response was, "Well, it broke in YOUR hand." Seriously! He wasn't going to let me exchange it! Fortunately, the guy working the door stepped in to help me. So, I asked if I could leave my other purchases at the counter while I ran to find another frame. A girl cashier out of nowhere snaps at me, "No, we can't be responsible for your items." Yes, the items that I had just purchased from them! So, I had to bring my stuff out to my car before I could go look for a new frame, which of course they didn't have. Absolutely ridiculous! The guy working the door was very apologetic for ridiculousness of the other two, so I appreciated that. I get that you work at Ross and they probably don't care too much about customer service there, but come on people, you can do better... read more
