Where the "Beer to Go" sign is bigger than the Family Dollar Store sign (when do they have beer to stay?). Where you can gather and check-out with Pedialite, TP, and bean dip within 5 minutes. Where you can gather and check-out in 20 minutes with one box of pads because the baby momma in front of you is allowing her child to fondle everything in sight while she decides what items to put back, and then she rechecks the total each time she puts something back. Where I can go to Redbox (right outside) and hear some cranky, gnarly bitch slapping her hoof down repeatedly while I'm trying to hurry up and get my movie. Where people run out the back door and down the street with their cart of stolen goods. Where you can drive over a live electrical power line running across the parking lot behind the building. Where I can wear my polka dot robe, flip flops with socks, an eye patch and no one even looks twice. Where the employees are like bartenders: super friendly, ask personal questions, sometimes have a story to tell, and make you feel like you need a 2nd round. P.S. I have finally figured out that it is a requirement when you are in any $-type store to be on your cell phone screaming profanities throughout the store. Don't be caught with your phone down - whip it out and scream! Thanks for Keepin' (East) Austin Janky!

It is definitely not the massive Targets that exist in suburbs and throughout the United States,…read morebut for the people that live in the area and for me who sometimes is in the area and needs to make a quick stop, it's super convenient, accessible, and the free validated parking is always welcomed. Due to its size, it has a lot less stuff than a typical Target outside the city, but having the essentials makes it perfect for getting in and out of. Shoutout connivence! RIYL: Target in da city

I only came to the 5th Street Target because it was the only place that had what I needed,a simple pen for black label for homemade gifts. I came against my better judgment, and honestly, I wish I hadn't. First off, the parking is a mess. You have to park in the garage and get validation to avoid paying $7. There's no handicap parking right in front of the elevator entrance either, which makes things way harder than it should be. I could have used street parking but didn't feel like being hassled by the men that wait in front of the store. Once I got inside, I started noticing a man, Hispanic, curly hair, maroon shirt, no name badge walking past me multiple times in different sections. First in the makeup aisle, then again when I moved to another area, and again a third time. It really felt like he was watching me, not shopping. He made me super uncomfortable. I was using the Target app to scan items and make sure I was getting the right prices. Just trying to get in and out quickly because, truth be told, I've been avoiding Target for a while now. When I checked out, one of my items rang up higher than what the app said. I went to Guest Services, showed the price on my phone, and was told I must've grabbed the wrong thing. I hadn't, I scanned it myself before adding it to my cart. All this over a few markers. I'm sticking with my boycott. I came here trying to support my own project and left feeling watched, dismissed, and frustrated.

Anyway, yes, sometimes it's fire and other times there's hardly anything good. Besides that it's consistently pretty clean and organized and the staff is friendly enough. There's usually someone nearby to help if you need it. The times I've been the lines don't typically get too long, and when they do the staff is quick to open up new registers and move everyone along. I'm a big fan of the home goods section, there's usually something there that will catch my eye. Though I don't always take it home with me. That and the beauty section are where I spend most of my time. It's a Marshalls so the prices are reasonable. Good spot if you have time to browse and don't have anything particular in mind to get.

I will say that their furniture leaves a lot to be desired, and I will often see damaged pieces that they will further discount due to the damage, but the discount will literally be $7. I'm talking a fully smashed shelf on a bookshelf...that item is unusable, -$7 is unreasonable. Nevertheless, I go at least once each month to scavenge through the aisles, and 5/10 times I find something good! I went the other day and found some awesome puppy toys and other goodies for pets. So, check it out if you have time to really search.

They gone done a really good job with this mall, y'all. I appreciated it years ago visiting when I was on tour and it was basically nothing, but still a hot spot for UT students. Rundown yet popular students despite not really having anything. Now they've turned it into a real fancy violin... um, I mean mall, not sure why my predictive text thinks this mall is a string instrument but anyway. So several of my friends whom are students head down here often to hang out and get boba from the popular and over-busy Gong Cha here. So it's alive, and largely because there's a bubble tea shop and a whole bunch of TVs for you to watch in the food court. So if you're at UT and spoiled by stuff to do... this is just an extra place for you to hang out and spend money and I think it's a great location and has some cool stuff as well. Parking is awful though unless you pay for the garage.

Whether it is adjusting fit, reshaping silhouettes, or tailoring something to flatter perfectly, Andrea knows exactly what to do. She is incredibly skilled, fast, and professional, and she somehow manages to make even the most complex alterations look effortless.
