One of my favorite Ross store in NoVa (Northern VA). It's really good to shop here before the holidays; they have so much good stuff. It does get crazy here though especially near the holidays especially Christmas. Really good prices and name brands. Plenty of parking on normal day to day basis but holidays; good luck! Ahaha it's so packed. It's near by a lot of stores, I like to hop stores to stores in this shopping center. Decent customer service. They accept cash or cards. read more

I stopped by this Ross with one purpose only - to find earrings to go with a dress I was wearing later that day. Unfortunately, as soon as I entered the store, I saw a very long line that wrapped around some of the clothing aisles. Huge turn off and I immediately left the store. read more

Sometimes the security in this Ross speak and sometimes they do not. But, you see them in the store as you're shopping following you around. The lines are often long with one or two cashiers. You never see the manager out on the floor helping. At least come out and help get the lines down then go back to your office. Or hire more ppl to work. Customers allow their children to run thru the store playing and crying. Also opening toys, makeup and taking without paying for items. Security doesn't see that read more

Politely told the manager up front that it needed attention and he had the nerve to get a huge attitude with me! This store is much better than the one down the road in Seven Corners. It's more clean and organized and has a better selection of merchandise. I was particularly pleasantly surprised by the shoes and the household goods. Also not too many damaged or open items cluttering the shelves. Oy, what a mess. I know that just about every Ross is a mess, but this one looks like Black Friday stormed through, but on a daily basis. The shelves are usually a mess, and mostly empty. I keep coming back though, because sometimes I need to find an inexpensive item and don't want to shell out the money at the Bed Bath & Beyond next door. My husband and I wanted a pepper grinder, didn't want to pay $24 next door, so we scavenged through the Ross shelves to find one that was $12. When you go to Ross, just go in with the expectation that you'll be rummaging through like it's one tier above a thrift store. read more

Pros: +I'm a fan of Ross's prices. They have some great deals. I found great deals on clothing, home goods, suitcases, kitchen stuff and all sorts of other stuff. I come here for the prices. +Lots of parking out in front. Some cons of this place: -not really organized. Things are kind of scattered all over the place. Boxes are sometimes damaged and I found stains on some of the fabric products. You have to be careful what you pick. The shelves and racks are really disorganized, clothing in the wrong place, etc. -The lines are long and this one time I went, they had like 2 people working the register and there was a giant line. I really thought the wait was unnecessary and they could've called more people to the register. They finally did when this lady spoke out loud and yelled at the manager in front of everyone. They probably could've prevented that from happening. read more

This is the dirtiest store I've ever been in. I went to use the bathroom and walked in to crap on the floor all over the toilet and the rest of the stalls had urine and trash all over it. I walked out and left. The bad part is that an employee was walking out of the bathroom as I was walking in. The store manager should be fired because that is no way to have a store restroom for customers to see and employees to use. It was literally disgusting. If you think this place is clean, you need to up your standards in life and expect more for yourself. read more

Yesterday I was in this store and when I went to the fitting rooms to measure my pants, the horrible smell of feces was not normal. There was a lot of contamination. I decided to enter the men's bathroom, where upon entering I realized that there was dried pupu from several hours all over the bathroom floor and that same fetid smell was the one that filtered through to the fitting rooms. It made me very disgusted and I decided to leave that bathroom immediately and told the woman who works there in the locker room and she told me that the manager already knew about it and hadn't done anything about it, that she couldn't do anything else. I asked her please for a little bit of antibacterial gel to spread on my hands because that is totally unhealthy and she told me that she did not have antibacterial gel. Today I woke up with a sore throat and I don't know if it was due to that penetrating bad smell of that place. read more

This location is a wreck! So messy. Trash inventory. Clothes on the floor. Shoes strewn about. Expired food items. Kids climbing through the racks like its a playground. I think a clerk was following me ...He should have been using his time to do some cleaning in that filthy store! Cashier seemed very disinterested in exuding even the lowest level of friendly service... I don't blame her tho... however she could have at least! handed me my receipt ...or put it in the bag even! I was very impressed with the cleaningness and well organization of this store. I typically walk into Ross expecting unorganized aisles and racks. But this particular store was very neat and organized. It was Friday night at 6pm so it wasn't like Tuesday morning. Baby aisles were organized and I found what I needed without much of struggle or searching for it. Then my mom shopped for dress and they did a wonderful job organizing it their sizes. Cash wrap had good backup as when the line got longer; they had people from the floor coming to ring to keep the lines down. I'm pretty impressed. I would totally come back! read more

Ross Dress for Less - Very neat!! - Department Stores Near Me - Bailey's Crossroads, Virginia

Extremely poor customer service at this location. I purchased items at different Ross location, at the time of the purchase 2 items did not had a price tag but the cashier looked in the system and charged for the items. I had to return a couple of the items 2 days later with a receipt. The cashier and female supervisor were extremely rude refusing to do the return due to the missing tags when in fact they just sold items to a customer before me without a tag just by checking the price in the system. The female supervisor told me yo go to the store we're I purchased the items because I may be returning used cloths! The receipt refund policy estates that customer can made returns with a receipt within 30 days. This issue , my wasted time and condescending behavior of the supervisor could had been avoided if the cashiers print a tag for items that missing the price ( TJ MAXX is a great example of doing the job correct) but Roos staff prefers to cut corners and make it difficult or impossible to do a return on the top to be insulted. I called corporate and the Representative was extremely helpful. She contacted the store to honor the return. Again the rude supervisor told me to wait in line, I refuse and ask for the manager who was nice and professional. I enjoy shopping at Ross but I won't be back to this location. Next door is Marshall's great variety of fashion items and where people are treated with dignity and respect not as a thief. read more

I am not sure if this is a strange marketing tactic or not but this Ross is unpleasant, messy, poorly stocked, and unorganized. I say marketing tactic because I know Ross and Marshall's are part of the same corporation and the misheveled status of this location resulted in a quick walk to the bedding section and a even quicker exitus and then a speedy turn into the Marshall's next door where the money was spent. In comparison the Marshall's was almost calming. While I might walk in here again if I have not found what I was looking for next door but this will never again be my visit place to visit. The Marshall's had better bedding (I got a nice Ralph Lauren set at Marshall's). From the clothing sections to the bedding to the jewelry to the toys Ross was a mess and frankly, almost uncomfortable feeling. The more I think about it the more certain I am I will stier clear. read more

This Ross is by far one of the worst I've ever seen. The staff could care less about the store itself and whom ever manages the place doesn't seem to care. The store is completely messy every time I go and visit; from the clothes to the furniture to the shoes. Sometimes the clothes I've seen are ripped, torn, and just plain ruined. Kids toys when I've seen them where already opened or if not had damaged boxes from having the parents of kids letting them play there and not care. The prices are good for a store like this so I can't complain but my god the fitting rooms are crap. If you ever shop here don't expect much, because this Ross is a dump. I've stopped shopping here a long time ago and don't plan on going back. Good luck if you come here be ready to spend lots of time looking for something good with decent craftsmanship. Customer service here has never been good in my many visits. Tried to return hat and gloves set after the holidays. I brought the receipt with the item. The man at the register is rushing customers, calling the next person as the customer in front of them is pulling out their card to pay. He calls next (being me) and I hand him the item with the receipt. Somehow between me glancing down and him scanning the item the receipt is misplaced. I tell him it's a return. He pulls the item out of the bag and asks if I have the receipt. I tell him I gave it to him so he picks up a receipt on the counter and asks me if it's it. I say yes. He then scans the item and receipt and says it's not a match. I'm puzzled as to how that's the case, as he scans a couple more times. He looks at the receipt and it shows a couple Nike items for greater amounts than what I was returning. He calls next--I'm po now, like sir you have not not helped me. At some point he asks if I have my ID and gives me a store credit. I step over to the side to look at the receipt and it's not the one I gave him. I tell him that and he's goes 'I'm not the one that said yes this is the receipt'. I look at another receipt on the counter to see if that's it and it wasn't. I'm really boiling now because I know the receipt is behind the counter. He gives an extra dig to say 'you have a store credit now, you can get what you want'. What really lead me to Yelp was the fact that I ended up having to come back to the store because he never gave back my f'n ID. Ugh read more

This store had lots of great product. However, after spending $250 and trying to cart out our loot, Issan told us while standing outside the door that carts aren't allowed in the parking lot. When I asked if he was Going to help me carry these 6ft plus rugs to my car, he said no and walked back inside the store. I felt like that was pretty rude. For the record, I also took my cart back inside still. I'm not the type of asshat who leaves carts in random places. I just felt overal disappointed with how he spoke to us. Especially when there was a loss prevention standing there watching us too who said nothing. read more

The savings isn't worth the ridiculous amount of time spent waiting in line. They can afford to pay THREE employees to stand around wearing "Loss Prevention" vests, but only one to operate the register while the line is 12+ people deep. Two reasons and two reasons only why I'm giving this Ross location the benefit of the doubt, and nicely giving 3 stars: 1. The prices are great 2. The security guard smiled from afar, in a, "have a nice day" sort of way. (It would have been rude had he shouted from so far away.) Reasons I don't recommend this store: 1. It's extremely unorganized and messy 2. It lacks product; the shelves and racks are very scarce--which is especially why I find it hard to believe it's so unorganized. 3. The staff, with the exception of the security officer as well as the woman tending the fitting rooms, were not engaged, nor pretend to care about providing quality customer service. My cashier waved me to his checkout counter, as though he were too lazy to actually speak, "next in line." He did not say hello, ask if I found everything okay, or muttered a word. I wondered if he would even tell me the total! He did, to my surprise, and then he placed my breakable purchase, without wrapping, into the bag, and failed to hand it to me. My husband and I went in on a Saturday night at 9:45. They are open until 10:30. At 10:10, the manager announces that they are closing and tells us to take our purchases to the front to checkout. We get there and there is a line of about five people. There is a total of about 10 customers in the store. There is one cashier. The lady in front of us remarks that it is silly to call us all up there 20 minutes before closing with only cashier. There are not enough people in the store to make a cattle call. Hurry up, hurry up, now wait. She ask an employee to open up another line. She counts the people in line and says, "No, there are not enough of you." My husband, unhappy with that rude, thoughtless exercise, asks the manager to open another register so we can get out of there as he had requested. He called us all up there. The manager says, "Listen, I only have these people here and we are trying to get out of here." My husband says, "What about your customers? You called us all up here" The manager starts huffing and puffing. My husband drops the shirt and shoes and walks out. I pick them up and set them down on a shelf near the front. The manager pushes a cart behind me as I'm leaving and SLAMS the cart into the other carts about a foot behind me. It was very menacing and threatening. I understand that Ross offers good deals, but this is out of hand. I will pay .25 cents more a shirt to get another cashier on duty. Why call us all up there when you have no one to ring everyone out? Why call for last call 20 minutes before closing. It wasn't like a general, "Hey, you have 20 minutes." It was, "The store is now closing. Get your stuff and go up front." Customer service in Northern VA is nearly dead. This Ross has died, rotted, and is near skeleton status when it comes to customer service. I won't return. read more

However, there are some hidden gems for the home in there. I will NOT buy their clothes. Not from that location. I can't even do the gym wear. Terrible terrible service. No one was on the floor to help assist myself and any of the other customers. There was a long line and only two registers were open. The two other employees in the front, including a manager, were making mean faces at a family with loud kids and unloading boxes at the customer service area instead of helping customers. I went during lunch to buy a belt. Sorted thru the depleted selection. Found one that would do. Went to check out and found the line really long. Counted 29 people ahead of me; some with full carts. I walked over to where I could see the checkout counters. There were TWO working the registers. It took 5 min to get one thru. At that rate I'd be in line for 1 hour and 20 minutes to buy a belt. This is much better than last time (about 5 months ago) I can here to buy a jacket. That time there was only one register open. So I put the belt back (as I did the jacket), and left. The sad thing is that I am fan of Ross. Its a great place to find little decorative things and necessities for a decent price. On Saturday I went in and purchased a Orgreenic 12 in fry pan. My mother and grandmother have raved about this thing so when I saw it for $15 I picked it up along with some other items. Typically at Ross you have to inspect some things to make sure nothing is broken, but on this day I was sort of in a rush as I had my dog in the car with the AC running since it was pretty hot outside. When I got home and started to unload my treasure trove, I realize that the pan had been heavily used. I got very busy that day so didn't make it back to the store until yesterday. I presented the item and my receipt along with a few other items I wanted to purchase. The clerk was happy to scan the barcode without even examining the pan to start this transaction when I mentioned that I was returning it because it was used. He got the attention of the manager Terrence who was ringing somebody up at the next register. Terrence in very little words claimed, "I can't do a return on that. we would never sell an item in that condition," shook his hand at me and turned around. He basically dismissed me and called me a liar. Until I mentioned the problem, his clerk would have completed the transaction without examining the product. The person that sold me the product didn't notice it either. I called customer care and waited in the store, but that was no help. The only reason why this review is getting 2 stars is because after speaking with customer care my case was sent to the district manager. I was told I'd get a call within 3 days. I got a call back within the hr and after explaining my issue, he also assured me that they would never intend to sell or take back a used product, but he did apologize for how I was treated and in the end in sending me a $25 gift card to cover the cost of pan. I love Ross stores and some are much better than others. This one in particular is much more disorganized and messy compared to others in the area. This is one that I will never return to if this is how they treat their customers. BTW Terrence... after leaving your store, I went to the much cleaner friendlier Ross in Fairfax and I spent much more money there. Go back to manager training and learn how to treat people that want to put money into your store. This store is a mess! I happen to shop here and the store is very unorganized. Dirty and clothes are everywhere even on the cashier counter. I purchased a bedding here and the cashier counter was messy and I forgot my phone there. No one noticed it until I reported to the police and report as the stolen. After the police confirm it was stolen, they weren't allow me to see the picture of the person. On the second day, i realized the phone was on and went back to the store to ask. The manager gave it back and says "ohhhh I didn't know this belong to you! We had three people lost the phone yesterday". Three phones?! He also said you should call the police Yesterday, our store shouldn't call for you. Wow! I lost my phone here in your register and you are pushing off your responsibility?! If he is more responsible, he should call these victims one by one. Rather than saying " I thought this didn't belong to u!" how much do you value your customers ? How secure is your store? How do you handle these situations after it happens ? No wonder the store has a bad comment. Overall, I'm disappointed at the store on how they handle it. So they went from too chaotic to too Draconian. It is not a pleasant shopping experience when the manager is so anal and uptight that she chastises customers for crossing the "waiting line" near the registers (someone else not me). I wanted to exchange 1-for-1 same item and waited in the checkout line 15 minutes only to get told to go to the "exchange line that is clearly marked" by a tiny little sign at waist level and waited another 10 minutes. I told the manager that it seemed a bit rigid and she replied with dripping sarcasm that it was the new policy. Well, if it is new then it should be more clear and the cashiers should also be more understanding and accomodating when stupid people like me wait in the wrong line. I will NOT come back to this store. Shopping should not be chaotic, but even more important, it should be customer friendly--this place is now customer hostile because the manager is more interested in creating orderliness than a pleasant shopping experience all the way through the point of sale. read more

I went to this store just because I was making time waiting for my car to get fix. As usual in the clothing section I found just trash , old things , old fashioned and disorganized shelves. Anyway I grabbed a few things for the house , but when I got to the registers, the lines, as is usual at this store, were gigantic . After wasting my time and wait for almost 15 minutes in line , I noticed that the cashiers were all Ethiopians and they were going through their people in line , I complained , and the cashier who call next me was rude and made ​​me shut up and ignore my complain, he told me if I wanted to pay or not , I asked for the store manager and to my surprise he was the store manager . The female supervisor (or manager) here is incredibly rude and disrespectful. I wanted to look at the $10 jewelry that was locked in a case, so I asked an employee for help. They ended up calling over this woman, who I believe is a supervisor. She was not friendly at all and acted like I was a burden to her. She opened the glass case's door and held it as I looked through the jewelry. She seemed annoyed that I was picking multiple pieces and she released the door so it would hit me. She didn't even apologize, it seemed like hitting me with a door was purposefully meant to get me to finish looking. So I just took what I had selected, even though I wanted to buy more, and headed to the counter. Apparently, some other gentleman had a problem with her as well, since I heard him complaining to a male manager about her. Neither she, nor the male manager seemed apologetic.
