I quickly found a spot and we entered through the side entrance. Soon as we entered we were welcomed warmly with eye contact and smiles. We just took our time looking at all the different fun stuff. From a full size couch to a board game; you name it they have it. You can easily get lost in here for hours just browsing around and nobody's rushing you. Take your time. I would definitely recommend a visit to Kudzu.

Once staff realized it may have been more valuable than expected, their tone changed and I was told they needed to check with the seller. Staff were openly commenting about how nice the item was and saying they wished they had noticed it sooner. No so long after placing the item on hold I received a call saying the item was suddenly "not for sale." Whether intentional or not, it gave the impression that desirable items may not actually be available to customers. Sad to say I don't recommend. Edit: The reply from the owner clearly shows how out of touch he is with his store and its sellers. There are multiple people who can attest of the behavior of the modifying and removal of the piece I was interested in. A simple check in with your employees would confirm the situation. Congrats on the 45 years you hold in the community maybe tell your sellers to try and do better in the years to come! Honesty and humility go a long way. It's…read morenot huge, so not overwhelming, and it's located near to some other furniture thrift stores so it relieves the pressure to find the perfect thing or to settle on something you're not happy with. I've gotten some chairs here, as well as some linens (which, yes, are new, but they're a good price and good quality!) Like every thrift/vintage shop, not every visit is going to be a hit, but the stock rotates frequently enough that it's always fun to stop by! They're also very honest-- I was thinking about some outdoor furniture which they pointed out to me wasn't in the best condition. I was able to pass on that and stick with the things that I still did, and continue to, love.

Second Life was an essential to me: I found Cole Hahn and AVL leather flats (almost unworn), numerous silk blouses (Marchesa Voyage, Annie Griffin), two silk skirts (one bespoke, the other from Anthropologie), dresses, jackets, a string of cultured pearls, Chicos and Eileen Fisher trousers - oh, and my last trip there, I actually scanned the books, and the selection is equally good there. Prices are higher than your average thrift, but, as you can see, so is the merchandise. It's always fair, and they run sales on the regular. I've been inspired to start putting aside some of my almost unworn or lightly worn clothes so that I can contribute to this community treasure, and keep the cycle going. This shop reminds me of everything I love about Avondale Estates / Decatur / Scottsdale / Clarkston.

Barwin and Yaser are amazing. I have taken many things to them in the past six months. Most…read morerecently, they PERFECTLY fixed a skirt for my wedding outfit after it was pretty seriously damaged at the dry cleaner. This repair involved not only repairing a large rip, but also unstitching and restitching 16 panels in the skirt and hemming multiple layers of fabric (they moved part of the bottom border to the part of the skirt with the rip to cover it). My skirt had a complicated pattern and was a delicate material, so all of this had to be very carefully and expertly done. My skirt came out looking better than I could have imagined - they are so skillful. The work is very high-quality and at a fair price. Drop-off and pick-up is on Saturdays (limited hours) in downtown Decatur or you can coordinate via text with Barwin to pick up at their home. I'm definitely willing to make the time in my Saturday schedule to go to them because they are that good at what they do. If you need a good tailor, I highly recommend Barwin and Yaser at Morning Star.
