They do an awesome job of showcasing local businesses. I purchased some syrups from Brown Girl Mixers. I liked how they showed you what company made the products. They did a great job or pointing out the Black owned businesses and that was my focus for the day. The prices in here were kind of high, but it's essentially a boutique so I didn't expect TJ Maxx prices. My syrups were only $28 though and there were plenty of products in there that weren't super expensive. I could have spent the afternoon in this adorable, fun, funky shop with unique, high-end pieces. Unfortunately I was in a time crunch but I still managed to do a circuit of the store and purchase several items. It's disappointing when I see something cute and it is only available in S or XS so I was pleased that they had the larger sizes I needed. I looked the uniqueness of Squash Blossom's assortment of products -- jewelry, clothes, shoes, etc. I've been purchasing from them a few years and have spent hundreds of dollars in the pricey boutique. i purchased a necklace that I loved. A few months of wearing, and it just broke, fell off my neck as I was walking. I heard the metal hit the concrete, so I was able to pick it up with most of the little beads. I reached out to the store to see if they had a repair shop they could refer me to. I was also looking for some type of customer service regarding me being a faithful customer, like we can't fix it but next time you come in we'll give you whatever off. After a couple of attempts, they gave me the name of the company they got it from -- no luck there either. I'll never spend another dime in this store. read more

Squash Blossom is a great local boutique with a Free People / Anthropologie vibe. I ended up getting lost inside for at least a half hour with my friend earlier this year and struggled to escape with fewer than three items -- a fun scarf, some Ink + Alloy earrings (based in Decatur!), and a Rifle Paper mug. The only con for me was that some items had a pretty steep price point. I haven't yet uncovered a lot of favorite local boutiques in the local Atlanta area since moving here in 2020 but this one definitely makes my list. I wish I lived closer so I could check out new arrivals all the time. read more

My mom and I always have a good time when we visit Squash Blossom. We can definitely do some damage in here...haha First thing you should know: it ain't cheap. But you're getting a higher quality product than when you visit other boutiques. They have a large collection of labels and mostly a chic, hippie type of style. You can find more structured items here and there, but for the most part it's boho (which I love). You'll find brands like Spanx, Maelu, Free People, Lucky and Kut from the Kloth to name a few. They have clothes, shoes, jewelry and gift items. The selection is really impressive and the store itself is pretty big in size. Be sure to head to the back where you'll find some clearance items. :) The service here is consistently friendly and helpful, but not too attentive in that you feel pressured to buy something. I loved my experience here. The store is laid out very well! Please know that the Decatur square in general is a small town feel, so don't come in expecting it to be like a department store! I had amazing help when I visited, but yes, I had to wait a little longer because they were helping others as well! The prices here are great! I purchased Tom's Deia boots and Sunglasses and they were less than retail. Also - this is one of the best places with a variety of Toms retail! We've been here many times over the years and have bought several purses. Tonight we returned to buy socks (for $12+/pair) and wanted to start by visiting their restroom. When I asked which door it was behind, since it had been a while, the old woman appraised us with a withering stare (as I sweated, having just pushed my wife's wheelchair several blocks uphill) and *claimed* they didn't have a restroom. As we were leaving, we overheard another customer tell his young child that they were going to the back of the store to use the restroom, and nobody bothered to contradict him. I found myself in Decatur Square a couple of weeks ago and stopped in to Squash Blossom. The first thing that struck me was how big the place is. I expected a cramped little boutique but found the interior to be quite spacious. The boutique sells all type of cute clothes and shoes (dresses, tops, maxi skirts, etc). They also have jewelry, bags and other fun items. There were dressing rooms and seating for trying on shoes. The staff was super friendly and definitely made me feel welcome without being overbearing. I'd recommend stopping in to SB if you are in the area. I can't imagine you won't find something you will love! read more

I found this store unique and displayed in a logical order. The discounts are at the back, my personal favorite area. It is always nice to find a store that carries Free People. That line has a bohemian flare. You do have to pay for parking or maybe plan to have lunch while your are in the area. read more

Really cute stuff here but I just purchased a shirt and some jewelry and noticed that the total seemed too high. So asked the cashier - her name was Deb according to my receipt - to see what I got and she showed me (she did not offer to see what she had rang up and the prices) so I was like well ok maybe I spent too much and added it up wrong. I walked out of the store and noticed that she rang my shirt up twice. This was an honest mistake and I was not mad at all! But I went in to get her to refund it and she did, but she was SO RUDE about it. I was not mad or anything and I was being so nice to her I really didn't care I just wanted it to be fixed! I just said "hey sorry but I think you rang this up twice." She had a stank face the whole time and didn't say a word. I asked her "will this go back on my card?" Because she didn't specify or ask for my card, and then my friend said "thank you" audibly before we walked out and she didn't respond just kept up with the stank face. I've been through my fair share of boutiques in the Atlanta area (....me? Boutiques!? There comes a time for everything I guess...) and I like this one second best to Youngblood. They are host to a lot of cute, well-priced jewelry. They also sell my new favorite gift to give girlfriends for birthdays or thank yous: these hair tie things that look like a cute, colorful bracelet when you where them around your wrist and come "bejeweled" ($12), "charmed" ($6), or plain ($3). Their clothing is not really my style, but I love checking out everything else they have there in terms of accessories. I went a few months back and they had a huge display of colorful sun hats, but they were gone when I was there on Saturday.. sad! The staff is great. They are friendly and happy to answer questions but (unlike other boutiques) don't stalk you and chat you up when you're in the store. Come here while your scoutmob lasts! read more

I didn't eat for a week after I last binged at Squash Blossom--not so I would look slimmer or anything, but so I would be able to compensate for the gaping hole in my wallet. The seven-day peasant life was worth it, though. Squash Blossom, located on the Decatur Square, carries so many precious brands, such as Nick & Moe, Tulle and the well-known Free People. I consider the store expensive but right up my alley--oh, the price I pay for having classy, timeless taste... After my most recent trip to the Blossom, I walked away with a wool, jewel purple sweater with orange, maroon and green flowers embroidered on the chest with yarn, along with buttons at the hip to secure the gaping V-neck (an undershirt IS required) and unique stitching across the shoulders, adding just the right amount of oomph!; a cotton short-sleeved shirt by the same brand, maroon with similar embroidery around the chest and shiny white buttons; and a short-sleeved wool dress--chocolate brown with emerald green, New Age-y swirls and adorable pockets on each side along the bottom. These pieces definitely launched my fall wardrobe up a notch. The jewelry is gorgeous, too, especially the leaf necklaces, hand-dipped in silver or gold. The next time I have extra cash to burn, I'm heading to Squash Blossom to usurp one of these lovely baubles. The staff is nice, too--they don't try to force extra clothing on me when I'm heading toward the dressing room. And they aren't snobby. read more

I really want to completely love this store but due to the high prices and terrible return policy (store credit that actually EXPIRES! What??), I find I can only love the idea of the store. The clothing is unique and trendy, they have terrific shoes that you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else and the designer names are great. I also like the boutique vibe and cozy feel. It is a fantastic place to shop if you a completely certain that you like what you have purchased and if you don't mind paying more for the ambience. read more

Yep, the clothes at Squash Blossom cost more than the GAP. If you're looking to build a wardrobe made out of inexpensive, mass produced pieces that look like what everybody else is wearing, I suggest you head to some of the fabulous malls in the area. That's not to say that the prices are outrageous at Squash Blossom - they make sense for what you are buying. I've always found a combination of funky and feminine clothes that are comfortable and flattering. That, to me, is worth paying a little extra. It's almost overwhelming when you walk in - there are so many featured designers and unique pieces throughout the store. The service is great though - the people who work there are all great stand-ins if your best friend can't shop with you. Unlike a lot of boutiques and even some of the mall shops, all of the ladies at Squash are down to earth, fun and have a great sense of style. If you've never experience having a personal shopper, look for Santi and Julia. They will hook. you. up. They will help you find what you're looking for, tell you if a pair of jeans makes your ass look fat - then go find another cut that flatters your curves. When I've been there shopping for a special occasion, they always pull things I would never even contemplate - and usually walk out with something awesome. Like I said, this is a place to buy pieces that help you feel extraordinary - not like everybody else. I'm a fan. If you love fashion, but hate the mall - go here. I've been in many Atlanta area boutiques and never have i felt more ignored than when i went into squash blossom. they passed me several times without as much as a hello and in fact did not acknowledge my presence until i addressed them first...tacky when i called to complain i discovered the manager and owner were two of the three employees there which made me feel the employee morale must be low the clothes are cute but in atlanta cute eclectic pieces are not a rareity. it seems a high price point should be accompanied by great customer service read more

I've been twice now and this place continues to impress. Super cute, hipster boutique in the heart of Decatur. I've purchased shoes, scarves and rings here. All wonderful, unique pieces. I do want to caution however, my friend who was visiting from out of town (NYC so you know she is a picky one!!)...bought a "love" ring and within an hour, the letters, "v" and "e" fell off. Not cool but then again it was a $9 ring so what do you expect? Still was bummed for her, though. I went there on a whim for a new dress for the holidays. They have a decent selection but a lot of the items are priced high. Now I worked retail for many years so I get it...but when clothes are see through or look worn for several years I can't bare to spend the big bucks. However if you go through the racks you can find decent stuff for a good price. I saw sizes XS through XL in some garments..and lots of variety in the t-shirt selection, but those were a bit pricey for thin jersey tees. The service is pleasant and the atmosphere is nice. I am also not a fan of Free People garments, but the other stuff there is pretty cool. I'd really like to go back when I have some extra money and look at their jeans, cause the selection looked fabulous! read more

Sent my 16 year old and friend in with a $200 budget for dress. After about 15 mins they were asked, "are you here to play dress up or to really buy something?" Over the years we have spend thousands and thousands of dollars at this store , we used to LOVE this place under the old ownership. This treatment forces us to take my money elsewhere. The people here are very rude. I entered and was not greeted. When I asked where a pair of shoes were, they pointed. I asked them to show me they begrudgingly walked me over and showed me. I had to find them to ask to try on a size, and again when it didn't fit, and again when that didn't fit, and fourth time to ask them for a pair which wasn't smashed during shipping. They didn't have a non-smashed pair and could not order any others. I left and wrote a letter to the owner so they could at least apologize. The owner never replied. I will not ever shop here again. read more

this is a great place in decatur that contains choice wardrobe staples as well as a plethora of accent pieces (excellent selection of purses, scarves, jewelry, etc.). the staff are very helpful and not pushy. also, surprise, surprise, but they had shoes in my size (9-10) in stock. rare! i liked that the purses were in different shapes, colours, sizes and styles. this is the kind of store you can shop at with your mom, and you both can find things you like. to mitigate cost, join their mailing list. (really, you should do this at many boutiques you frequent, esp. in the decatur area because they offer coupons and discounts periodically). shop on a sunday when metered parking is free or after 5pm or 6pm on weekdays when the meters power down. (always check the stickers on the meters). lastly, the store participates in a warehouse boutique sale that happens twice a year. you can get a lot of stuff at a great price there as well. read more

This really is a cute store, so for that it earns 3 stars. I cannot give 5 because all two of times I have visited, I have been treated like a nuisance rather than someone who might help keep them in business (I clothes). Nevertheless, I have purchased 4 pieces. It was almost 5,but I decided to buy the last piece online, even though it cost me more. I just couldn't bring myself to give this place more money. Plus one piece pilled up after one wearing. Maybe if they hadn't turned out the lights while I was in the fitting room, I would have been better able to see the fabric. Caveat emptor. read more

After eating a nearby restaurant for brunch, a friend wanted to go shopping so we stopped in at Squash Blossom. Boutiques aren't really my thing, but my friend spends more money on clothing than I do. Some of the clothing prices were quite high, even for a boutique. However, I was not interested in most of the clothing anyway. There were quite a few shoes that I thought were cute though. But more than I spend. A few of the jewelry items were also attractive - at prices that I would usually find at some of the nice festival booths. So you can take my opinion for what it's worth- which may not be much given that this is not my kind of store. read more
