Coming into the holiday season, the checkout lines are building. I didn't find what I came for, but I did find some gifts for others. I had to wait in line. There were only two cashiers, but I understand that good help is hard to find, and few want to be bothered trying to help people who are exasperated and exhausted from holiday shopping. Everyone in line took it in stride and patiently waited. Otherwise, it's always worth visiting Ross to see what I can find. read more

I'm so in love with Ross in Indian Land. It's very well stocked, organized and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful.

I want to love Ross. I know people who find the best stuff here. But I have found it to be disorganized and dirty. The last things I bought included a shower curtain and a corner shelf caddy (also for the shower). The shower curtain packaging was all sticky and disgusting, and the box for the shower caddy was all banged up, to the point where I was afraid it was missing pieces. They refused to give me any kind of discount. Keep in mind that I had to HUNT for these items, and there certainly were not a lot to choose from, otherwise I would have simply picked up another box. I just find the employees to be disinterested and the store to be a mess. The reason I ventured in this last time was to get these exact items, since I'd purchased them here before. but next time I just might opt for a more pleasant experience and stick to amazon or even pay a little more for Bed, Bath & Beyond. Plus, what is up with their checkout? The line is always ridiculously long on weekends, and they have like 2 registers open at huge counters that look like they're for customer service. Ross, take a page out of TJ Maxx and Marshall's book and be more efficient at checkout. This is the kind of place where I will wander around, find something I kind of want, then take a look at the line and set it down again and leave. read more

This store is a raggedy mess. I have been going here for years and until today, I have been pleased. Today is the last day. Took forever to get the help I needed for the "jewelry" case (the whole thing was a disorganized mess), and the cashier literally rolled her eyes at me when. I asked for my item to be rung up. If I could give 0 I would. Been shopping at Ross in Durham for almost 20 years. Last week did it for me. There was a lady checking out that got a cashier that hated white people. You could tell. She was nice to anyone black, But every time a white person came up she was a true Bitch. Would not speak when they spoke to her and ignored them completely. The customer was being nice. The women left her stuff and complained to management. Sure nothing will be done about is. They do not care. This store hates white people and I will not shop here no longer. What a shame. Lucky, got a different person than her or she would have been in real trouble if she treated me like she did that woman. The associates here are hit and miss on any given day. I love shopping at Ross but i will no longer give my money to this location . When i go shopping at Ross i buy a lot of clothes and I usually get a re useable bag instead of their plastic bags . Well when i got home i noticed the bag was ripped so i took it back to the store and asked if i can exchange it . Remind you the reuseable bags are only .99cent . The cashier asked me if i had my receipt and i told her "No" and asked "can i return the item without a receipt" she said "yes but it's guidelines". I said "okayyy what's the guidelines ma'am" she couldn't even tell me and called a manager over. The cashier then explain to the manager what i wanted to do and the manager couldn't even tell me no , she told the cashier to tell me no . Like why couldn't the manager tell me no herself . So again i asked "why not what's the guidelines" the same cashier that i asked before then decided to respond "you have to have your receipt" i said just a second ago YOU said i can return without an receipt now all of a sudden i can't . Again what is the "guidelines" . Neither the so called "manager" nor the cashier could tell me the guidelines of returning items without a receipt. All this over a .99cent bag. read more

This location appears to be in decline. They've spaced the clothing out to make it take up more space... But it doesn't hide a clear lack of inventory. I've never found Ross to be the epitome of customer service, but they do deliver good prices on good stuff from time to time--and there are times when economy calls for putting up with less service. The problem is that this particular store seems to be headed the same way several others in this shopping center (Pier 1, World Market) have gone: away. The one near Target in SW Durham is much better. read more

This place is big, but a lot of it is empty space. It'd be nice if they had a larger selection of items. Still, every time I've been here, I always manage to find something I like. The prices are awesome. They have shoes, purses, clothes, bathroom items, and more - but mostly clothes. Plenty of parking in the lot. Plenty of changing rooms. Plenty of good deals. read more

Been to this ross before it's a pretty open space. They have an okay selection but I'd say at fairly decent and are in good condition. I came here to check out their comforters and maybe some frames and decors and found a couple goods one. It's right next to bed bath and beyond and Costco which is pretty good! read more

My visit today was TERRIBLE. The location is Durham NC, NORTH POINTE DRIVE. Poor customer service. A associate jump in front of customers that had been standing in line. I also notice a elderly customer who needed help at the Amazon drop box machine and she didn't get any help. This was upsetting to me and something needs to be done about customer service at that location ASAP. read more

Over ten people in line and only one register open?! Store is a mess and under stocked. Does no one work here??

I purchased several pairs of shoes for my daughter in advance for the summer months. One pair of the sandals purchased literally fell apart the first time my daughter wore them which was yesterday, June 7th, to school. The ankle straps on both shoes came completely off of the shoes causing my daughter to fall............After going home to look for the receipt, I immediately drove to the Ross wear I purchased all of the shoes from after first calling to reach out to the manager Adele. On arrival, Adele said that she did recognize the sandal from the store, but there were none left on the shelf to match the numbers to because as I stated, I purchased the shoes prior to the summer to be worn in summer. Though I was able to produce multiple Ross receipts, I apparently did not have the correct one with the shoes on it. Adele then told me to speak with Sherry Barber, the store manager the next day. Today, I call to speak with Sherry and was told she was not working so I was put on hold for 10+ minutes to wait for Adele. I had to hang up and call back to get someone who, surprisingly, was Sherry after being told she was not in. After explaining to Sherry what happened, Sherry basically quoted me the same policy without making any effort to rectify the situation as I am sitting at my computer reading the policy that clearly states and attempt can be made if the computer will allow. In order for the computer to allow, you first have to ATTEMPT to help. Needless to say, after being a longtime customer of Ross, this store in particular, I am very disappointed in the lack of effort put into resolving this problem. It is clear that management could care less about customer service and/or does not know the company's policies in depth, but rather uses what they do know to avoid going above and beyond as people working in the service industry.......The reason I shop at Ross is because I have always felt like the store has quality items that I can afford. Now I feel like the quality is questionable and I'll lose out taking a risk in shopping at the store unless I keep the tag on everything. read more

I have shopped at Ross for years but here recently its just gone downhill and I mean the staff. Everytime I am in there one of the staff is whining and complaining about something the other staff aren't doing or they don't like or they are being snappy at each other cause one is moving slower than the other or they will talk about the previous customer to the next one. These people need customer service and professionalism training and when and where to vent. It's not some luxury store so I don't expect that much classiness but I do expect not to hear all that mess. It makes shopping there so unpleasant. read more

I haven't had any luck finding items I like here. I purchased a black Kenneth Cole purse from here and question the authenticity. The selection of women's clothing always seems picked over and it has been crowded the few times I went. Customer service is horrible as two associates ignored that there was a long line of patrons waiting to check out. I wouldn't recommend shopping here. read more

This one is bigger than the other one in town, also better organized and the home goods section seemed better stocked. However, I was going during back to school season, so it might be fair to say that all the college kids had wrecked the other location. I'll have to go in a few more times to be sure. read more

I left the store about 10mins ago. I came in early because I figured that it will be empty so I can get in and out in 20 mins. Needless to say, after I spent 15 or 20 mins browsing, I went to the checkout counter. I took my items off the hangers and waited for a cashier. There was a woman at the customer service desk unpacking inventory. She glanced over to me about 3 times but didn't say anything. On the left of me there was a woman sorting hangers. Also, a security guard and a man that had finished cleaning the windows. I waited 2 or 3 mins and no one said anything so I put the items down and walked out. Poor customer service especially so early in the morning and only one person in line. Get it together so you don't lose business read more
