I found some great deals and when I went to check out, I was hounded by the cashier and I would assume a manager because she was standing behind the cashier with her hair in a bun and an earring hanging out of her nose. They tried and tried to get me to take on a credit card in my name. I assume they don't understand the word NO!! They wouldn't leave it alone, I guess the manager was training the new cashier. I just told them to forget it, I wasn't spending my money there and walked out. Rude cashier and manager. If they can't take NO for a simple answer, they shouldn't bother asking people and quit trying to push services onto people that don't want it. I won't shop at the store. Rude manager and cashier!!!!

I booked an online photo session for a head shot. I didn't expect much being JCPenney. Yet,…read moreJCPenney's managed to make it a horrible experience. I already have anxiety getting my pics taken. I got less than expected and overcharged. The person running the counter at the photo desk was not rude but looks like she hated her job. I understand. However, JCPenney's chooses to keep someone in the photo department who obviously doesn't care about her job or the product she produces. Again, I get it it's not the most glamorous job. Yet, people still come to work they are being paid for and at least try. I contacted someone at JCPenney and they offered a reshoot. All I really wanted was for the pics to be retouched without any further costs. Why? Because when booked the appointment I was told they would prompt me so they could get the best photo. She told me to turn my head twice so she could get two pics done quickly. When I looked at the finished product in a dark area of the shop they looked ok. However when I was able to see them on my phone I noticed somethings that could have been fixed if she just took a minute or two to do her job. I spent money to get makeup done and didn't have anymore time to spare for better pics (I needed them for a specific reason...time constraints.) I will also mention that outfit changes are advertised however the only privacy I was offered was blocking an open door with an advertising sign. No actual door to provide privacy. She helped me get the "door" in place once. I had to move the door each time I dressed. I contacted JCPenney about getting a refund for the pics or at least to fix them. They offered a photo reshoot. Why? I doubt the only employee on duty found a will to care in less than a week. I would have had to pay for someone to do my makeup again. This is why JCPenney's looks like a ghost town. You won't even fix your mistakes or offer a refund for bad customer service. I didn't expect to lose money and be embarrassed. Thanks for nothing.

All merchandise is new…read morehere but it's haphazardly organized with sometimes very limited availability of sizes, styles, or quantities. Gabe's is massive with a slight warehouse feel. When I walked in, the far corner seemed a shuttle ride away. Patience is necessary at Gabe's. For example, despite row after row after row of shelves of mens shoes I never found a pair in my size where they were supposed to be. Different sizes were all over the place. Also, some styles I liked I couldn't find in my size. Still, there were some impressive premium brand names like The North Face and Red Wing. They sat alongside shoes made of all synthetic materials and clearly intended for "value price" retailers. The mens clothing section provided a similar experience. Racks were so jam-packed with items it was difficult to browse them. A quick circuit of the store disclosed household, pet, and pantry items; toys; foods and pantry stuff, kitchen wares; garden products; and other things that seemed to be clearance, close-out, or overstock inventory. I'll be back to see what treasures I missed.

The junior's section seemed the most promising and organized. There were a handful of nicer brands: Aeropostale, American Eagle, and Nike. That being said, there was also a lot of polyester as well. The prices were good (maybe not for the Ariat boots or Nike) for most items. The linens consisted of some known (to me) brands and there was a good variety of cute sheets, comforters, and bathroom necessities. This is the spot for inexpensive king and queen-sized bedding!! Long story short: if you've got time to kill, you could like find a few things. If not, you may have a few laughs. Either way, it's a fun stop.

They carry my favorite treats in all three varieties for 1/2 the price. I have to special order them from Treats Unleashed. Also...... WHYYYY did I find the gourmet peanut butter sandwich cookies thata are $10 at Treats Unleashed here for a fraction of the cost?????? They have dog beds, collars and feeding bowls with stands to name a few The candle aisle and the gourmet food aisles are my second favorite. Maxx carries Harry Slatkin candles for $16.99, beating the prices you would pay by ordering them off of QVC. They have a great variety that constantly changes.
