This Ross store is in the city marketplace mall on the north side just off 95. I was very impressed with the amount and selection of nice merchandise, the good layout and cleanliness of this Ross. One of the nicest Ross stores I have ever been in. No empty shelves and items were displayed nicely. Checkout was fast and courteous. Prices were in line with other stores. I will be back when I am in the area again. read more

Waiting on line with 14 + ppl and the cashier decided to stop serving to organize the security alarm clips while we are all waiting to check out. Didn't apologize. Didn't excuse herself. Nothing. We were left to ask wait for 1 cashier and the line just kept growing. An alarm kept going off and no one did anything to stop it. The only thing good about this place was the security greeter. From the outside, this location looked huge- inside it looked like the same amount of inventory as other locations closer to my home. I did find a couple cute dresses- Ross is my go to for inexpensive and cute dresses. The line was long, something I have come to expect at Ross, but moving. I'll have to pop in next time I am in the area and hunt for more dresses! read more

This particular Ross is conveniently located in the River City Market. It's pretty busy with a lot of traffic in the parking area. I have noticed that this store has improved in the organization in the last few years, but I wish there were a few more things to look through. They do have some okay home goods and spices. I would love for them to get some better skin products. read more

I went in today and spent 5$ . I was asked to donate ok you put me on the spot .50 cents . The cashier snickered at me . Like I don't have to explain to her how often I'm giving to panhandlers .. rounding go up EVERYWFERE I go .. it's like nonstop . Nothing wrong with the store But the cashier today was extremely rude. Rushing people to get up to the cash register before the previous people had even gotten their receipt. Telling everyone in line to have their payment out. I get you want to get the line down fast but rushing customers isn't how to do it. Having more than two cashiers is how you get it done. read more

I honestly can't think of one time I've walked out of this store without making a purchase. The thing about that is that other than one time when I specifically came here with my daughter looking for a dress for her to wear for me to do her maternity photo shoot, I've never come in here specially looking for anything. I just pop by every so often to see what they have because there are some seriously great deal to be found here. (BTW: My daughter did find the perfect dress that day) I've found things here to decorate my home, my husband has found items he uses when working out, I found $25 Speedo goggles marked down to just $5 bucks, and the list goes on. I also tend to find things here that I need but didn't realize I needed. On my last visit here, I could a things that plugs into an outlet to give you six more outlets and it rotates. Perfect for the socket near my nightstand because I am always wanted to plug everything electronic item I own near my nightstand. Got it for $6 and it was marked down for $18. It works so well, that I want to go back and see if they have another one to put on the hubby's side of the bed. Kicking myself that I didn't purchase two that day, but I'll keep my fingers crossed they'll have another one when I can get over there in the next couple of days. The problem I have with this Ross is there's always one register open. ONE. ONLY ONE. The line is always long and it's a pain in the a$$ to check out. It's also pretty impossible to find one single employee walking around the store if you happen to need assistance with anything. The employees are always smiling and friendly, but c'mon Ross.... would it kill you to hire a few more of them? I still give them four stars though because this store is nicely organized, you can find name brands at awesome prices, and it's in a really good area of town. read more

Incredibly (for me, who has no Ross stores nearby at home), there are a whopping NINE Ross stores in the Jacksonville metro area, and another in Yulee near Amelia Island!!! I hit FOUR of these stores on my way through the city, doing other shopping. Why? I had to complete my set of tacky Lacoste gigantic alligator logo towels!!! They have carried these towels for two seasons now, and I bought just one last year. This year, I bought an additional SEVEN of them, lol, to make sure I had two in each of the four colors! So I scrambled through all these Ross stores all over Jacksonville, buying up what I needed for my set. Time was running out, they were all going to close. I needed one more blue towel! Please??? This store was my last shot before closing time, and heading back to GA. I saw some unfurled blue in the Bath section, coming from Activewear. I didn't let myself get too excited. Lacoste made another version this year that has a small tasteful alligator instead of my tacky whopper. I assumed it was the version I didn't need, calmed myself down. But as I got closer I could see, yes, it was the one I wanted! They had ONE Lacoste towel in the whole store. I was dancing to the register!!! I acted like I won the lottery! My friggin towel! The cashier was very sweet, although didn't quite get my silly excitement. Anyway, saved me the hassle of chasing it down at other stores, and completed my set. Thanks, Ross!!! read more

The workers at this store are always rude, but today was the worst. I came in to buy a specific pair of sunglasses. I stood at the counter pressing the help button for 20 minutes. The cashiers were both busy checking people out so I went to the back to find someone else to help. The fitting room lady told us to go ask the cashiers for help. I asked if we had to wait in line because we had been standing there and no one helped us, she said no just tell them you need help. We went back to the counter and waited for 15 minutes before finally getting someone's attention. I asked for help with the sunglasses and she said "no, you have to get in line." I tried to explain the other lady told me to ask for help and she cut me off and said "no" and walked away. I get in the long line and wait 20 minutes. I get near the front and see the same lady who told me no helping a white couple who had just walked in get glasses and check them out immediately. I stay in line but my friend goes back to the glasses case where the woman is helping ANOTHER couple that just walked up. My friend asks for assistance and she tells her to wait. The she tells her no, she has to get in line. She explains that I'm already in the line at the front. Another lady at the register says for me to come over to the case. I said I'm almost at the front, I might as well just wait. The lady said to come to the case. So I leave my spot in line to pick out the glasses (there's 3 people in front of me). She hands them to me and says get back in line. I ask confused "I have to get back in line?" because she literally just told me to get OUT of line. By now the line is to the back of the store. She says "We're busy" and walks away. If I had stayed in line, I would've already been to the front by now. I approach the loss prevention man and he makes eye contact with me then turns to walk away. I ask if there's a customer service I can speak to and he points at a number on a board and says to call them and goes to walk away. I ask if there's a manager I can speak to and he looks like he doesn't want to help me, but says to wait there. He walks around the registers whispering to the cashiers then comes back and tells me to just go to register 3. He never brought me a manager. The lady who checked me out was nice, but everyone else was extremely rude. The woman with the dreads and the front part of her hair sticks straight up was the one who told us no and to get in line. I think her name was Jacquelyn. She's rude every time I come in, but this was just blatantly disrespectful. She told me no we couldn't be helped, then helped multiple white people instead. If I wasn't getting a father's day gift I would've left. This is the worst Ross I've ever been to and honestly I'll never be back again after this. I've never felt so disrespected in a store before. I felt like I was treated different because I'm a young black woman. Everyone acted like we were bothering them by asking for help and ignored us multiple times, but were quick to help the white people. I called the manager and she didn't sound like she cared and didn't even offer an apology. Everyone is just rude all around, but especially Jacquelyn. She's always way nicer to the white customers and helps them first. This isn't the first time, but it's definitely the last. I would give 0 stars if I could. I've also noticed the loss prevention man always says hi to the white people but never greats me. read more

What can I say? It's Ross, a crap-shoot if you're looking for anything but that's normally how discount department stores go. I went to this location looking for a dress, preferably a sundress as the one I had planned on wearing later on that night wasn't going to keep me cool, or at least and nice tank-top and shorts. Unfortunately I didn't find either, at least in my size. I'm sure either someone beat me to it or there wasn't any that came in that week. This location is close to the airport so your odds of finding something may decrease. Nevertheless, I'd come back to search for something again. read more

This location has a lot of clothing and other odds and ends at a very reasonable price... The store is clean and organized....so it's not difficult to find the items you need... The employees are friendly, although they might need to hire more since there never seems to be one around if you need assistance...And it would be an added bonus if they'd open more than one register.... read more

This Ross location urks my nerves every time i walk in. The lines are always ridiculously long from moving way too slow. Also, the shoes are NEVER organized by size, as they should be. PERPLEXING! When I initially walked into this store, I was impressed with how neat and organized it appeared. I really liked that they have dresses and tops right next to one another instead of across the store from one another. This makes perfect sense since people who are shopping are often going to be looking in both areas. In my local store the layout is not this sensible and I appreciated the convenience. There was just one little problem that reared its ugly head!! Many of the dresses were not organized by size but just all mixed up together. You could easily see a size 4 item right next to plus size items and this did not occur in just one section, but several. You had to literally shop all of the racks so that you didn't miss anything. Despite this little problem, I was still able to find some interesting items such as a black maxi with good accents and zippered front, a sheer black kimono with mint green trim a black top with cut out sleeves and a very long, very sheer dress with blue and gray floral print. The floral print dress was an interesting piece because it had buttons all the way down the front and a tie around the waist. Instead of wearing it as a dress, I will wear it as a kimono over sleeveless dresses, or a cute pair of pants and top. I absolutely love everything I bought and easily over looked the disorganization. However, this issue definitely needs to be addressed as it can be very frustrating especially for shoppers who have a limited amount of time to spend shopping. Today was easy in and easy out and a great shopping experience thanks to chatty customers and great customer service! read more

This Ross is just okay .. So so... Not amazing but not horrible.... They are always unorganized. Lines are always super long. I can hardly ever find my size in anything cute.If you are super tiny this is your store. The home goods section is good. I always find something new for the house at this location. Of course I'll find myself at this store again searching for something to wear and leaving with home goods and no clothing. read more

I think this location is the best in the city. It was definitely the most organized and pretty well stocked.

I am not a "big" guy... But this store had absolutely NOTHING in my size! Disappointed. This is the 2nd visit to a Ross that this had happened. Fortunately there was more of a selection for. My wife to blow our money on. Overall the store was clean. The restroom was clean. I hate the controlled access to the bathroom... Feeling I a visiting a prison. But I understand why they do it. This might be my last visit to a Ross for a while. read more

This Ross is ok. I can't always find what I'm looking for. Prices are good if you can find something you like. They have a small selection of shoes in size 9. I haven't ever been able to find a pair to buy. The lines are long! They have good prices on housewares and good brands. I have been to Ross' that are better. The parking is good. read more

Just tried to run into the store at 10:25 really quick (the store closes at 11:00) and the doors were locked. The loss prevention person and one of the cashiers just stared at me. The door clearly says they close at 11:00. Once I realized they weren't going to let me in, I walked back to my vehicle and called them just to make sure and even the woman on the phone said 11:00. I had 35 minutes to grab my ONE ITEM. Rude. Won't be coming back to this location. read more
