I love shopping at Ross because you find great deal normally from 20% - 60% off of the mall prices on brand name and designer brand clothing and accessories. I find things here from nice kitchen items, furnishings, purses, shoes, and more! I love Ross! As far as their customer service, some of the employees surely have knowledge about service in how to effectively come across and communicate kindly with customers. This was a messy store. Was here today trying to pass time before visiting with family. I'm from Seattle and have usually enjoys excellent customer service when I visit here. Ross was definitely the exception. I wanted to see a watch. The case was locked so I went up to the customer service desk to ask for Assistance. There were two women talking and before I even got to open my mouth one looks over "eyes look me up and down" and she burts out " were not open here" I say I'm not checking out but need to see a watch. The girl with the dark hair looks back at the blonde gal and finishes her instruction to her then tells her she needs to get a key and walks over to us. She barley looks at me as she asks which watch. I tell her, she gives me the watch. Stands over me (there was no table and I had to hand the items in my arms to my niece) I then knelt down and took the watch out. It was too big. I hand it back to her and she still does not look at me. As I was trying the watch on, the blonde girl came over and started another conversation with dark haired girl. At that point I was a fully irritated and mumbled some passive aggressive statement about horrible service. We go up and to the only guy on a register, Travis, and ask the names of the women. They were nearby and he was visibly nervous as he told me (Hanna and Gina) apparently Gina is the manager. I had to prompt him when I asked for the general manager. He said "Gina is the manager" I asked who she reports to and he glanced at the girls then told me "Alyssa". If this is true, Alyssa-those two need some customer service training. They were rude and wanted to be anywhere but with a customer. We were smiling and cheerful. We were polite and this is how we were treated. Never coming here again! We walked down the mall a bit and found another chain store that was so friendly and positive. The employees were singing softly, they were helpful and hilarious. Maybe send those two over there to observe how customer service is done! read more

How do they stay in business? I've been in line for 25 minutes. Forty people are attempting to check out. In the middle of it all, one checker went on break leaving only one checker to process all the purchases. They also close the dressing room long before the store closes, which only discourages sales. I'm glad Marshall's is now in town to compete. read more

Ross has really gone down hill at the Moscow Idaho, Palouse Mall location. They always carried questionable stock, e.g. Baggy F.U.B.U. denim, gaudy Tommy Hillfinger tee-shirts, misshapen socks and size 19 Nike BB shoes. But I've been in the store three times in the last three weeks, and it's bad! The racks are all at least half empty. The shoes were decimated. There was like 5 pairs of grown-up sized shoes. I mean. The shelves above size 12 were bare. There was some crazy size 17 BB shoes that looked like someone had played soccer in them. There were the same exact clothes on the racks all three times I went in. I asked a worker when they might expect a shipment of any new merchandise, but she shrugged and gave the international "The Lord only knows" pose, palms facing the ceiling and shoulders up to her ears. I guess people ask her that question often, so I left it alone. I did buy a pair of joggers with a hole in the pocked for $12.99. My wife said she can sew the hole closed, so I guess the trips were not a total waste of time! I've found lots of quality clothes and shoes in Ross stores by Seattle. I guess they send the left-over dregs of whatever is left over after they finish stocking every other store to the Moscow store or nothing at all. Sad! They probably figure It's Idaho... Come to think of it, I saw a duck call in the junk section that is the "home furnishings" section. The end is near for brick and mortar retail stores. RIP Ross! read more
